Yes, he should be in the HOF... he was one of my favorite players growing up and I'm a Mets fan. Keith Hernandez should be in the HOF also...he was the Ozzie Smith of first base.
I know it's a different hall of fame but why is Gale Sayers in the hall of fame? I think his career only lasted 5 or 6 years? No football fans contest him being in there. It's because he dominated for that short period. Just like Donny Baseball. He was a legend even back then,. It's crazy to he can still be a legend today and they don't think he belongs in there.. If your nickname is The name of the sport you play,. I think you belong in the hall of fame.

I agree with you about Keith Hernandez. He should be in the Hall of Fame for sure.
He should absolutely be in the HOF, esp with his coaching tenure
Donnie Baseball is a HOFer, no doubt
That’s what I’m saying!!!
Donnie Baseball was a doubles machine. If Mattingly had played on the championship caliber teams like Jeter did, he would already be in.
Yes he was. If it wasn’t for his injuries he would’ve hit 3,000 hits.

Kirby but not Mattingly ? What is the difference ?
Harold Baines is in Don Mattingly and Dale Murphy were 1000 times better baseball players than Baines was!
I agree with you! Murphy is a two time mvp. Don Mattingly was the best 1B in the 80’s
