Reason to be proud of your garage Adam. A great space, facility, workshop. The envy of many, and all your own work too. A great achievement. Well done. 👏
Coming from a cold country it always amazes me how cold, humid and uninsulated many garages and workshops are in the uk :) it wasn't very thick insulation but roof insulation is really effective. Next step would be a small heat pump, so nice to have in the garage :)
Adam I think that looks absolutely brilliant and I guess and also will reflect a lot more light than just the dark felt and timber joists. Very nice job sir! 👍
Shame you only built it single skin with no cavity but I know it was done for maximum width inside. I built 1 3 years ago, fully insulated roof, insulated door, insulated cavity and breeze blocks and it still condensed up in winter. I think I should have insulated the floor under the concrete as I think the cold rises up out of the ground. I’ve had to put a small heater and a dehumidifier in over winter months.
make a wood frame around the roller shutter, + make 2 lift out insulation "doors", makes a hell of a difference, especially with grinder noise,. use some old roof grab-handles on them, 10 seconds to lift them out, best thing i ever done [says the neighbour]
Few bits, wear a mask with this stuff the dust is bad and gets on your chest. And rather than doing the tape in small sections, just peel a load back, stick it down and rip the tape but not the backing. makes it easier to peel and stops it curling up.
Nice work mate 👍 another good tip from a thermal insulator (hvac and pipes) always hang the tape from a lose belt around your waist for easy access, and never rip the backing off.
Had to use that foil tape outside for preparing the foundations for houses. Same idea as what your doing but the insulation goes down then concrete is poured on top. What a nightmare of a job in the winter 😝
Hi Adam, I was pleased at 3.20 to hear you say you were going to pull the car out first! (I was getting a bit nervous as getting an Adam sized dent out of the cossie’s roof wouldn’t be too easy ha ha!) 😂
When you mentioned insulating to stop your neighbours having to hear you. I laughed as some of them might see you go in there on your own and then hear you talking to yourself. Anyway keep up the great videos and I am well jealous of your garage.
Your garage is a thing of envy. I'm sure there are many others who watch and wish. It's coming on great. Only thing I'd mention is about the heater venting at top, heat rises, what it not be better at the bottom?
I've just done mine between the joists. Was a right pain, had to go between though as I have a flat roof. Next I'm using tongue and groove uPVC to cover it over and make it light and bright
Great garage mod that is. Better working/storage conditions & better light. Thought about doing the same many times, this may be the inspiration I need to finally do it! 👌🏻
Want to do this in my garage but I use frame for storage,it’s always cold and condensation everywhere, even me dart board started to mold, too job fella 👍
You have done a nice job that am a plasterer by trade so somehow we have adopted this job on sites horrible stuff a mask is a must. I would board and skim the frount part before the rafters change make it nice and bonny haha Whys they 2 sort of rafters
From somebody who's done this in his own house loft I can completely agree Adam, also you've covered all the points that I found out (the hard way) doing this job myself so well done. Great video mate
Looks miles better...could have used cavity batts (1200mm x 450mm) usually same gaps between trusses etc then plasterboarded over to give an even better look/finish!
They do what’s called a midget 2 post ramp. It’s a ramp but only lifts the car up about 3 foot but enough room to work under the car for use in garages that have limited roof space
@@elobiretv perhaps there are different grades of cheap chinese diesel heaters?, my friend's "quality" item was nice + warm, but the garage walls + ceiling were soaking next night, when he didnt use the heater, it was fine
Nice job .it will retain some of the heat better but the cold damp bricks will radiate coldness.with the condensation .you need vented soffits or eave vents and ridge vents to allow air circulation.
“Shaking like a shitting dog” I haven’t heard that expression for years lol 😂
Back on with the Saph on the next video fellas.
Can’t wait for it mate
Donuts ?
Absolutely love how from needing a sunroof frame this has turned into one of my favourite channels go on lad
Cheers fella 👍🏻
Good insight for someone looking too insulate a garage or shed. How much did the 20 sheets of insulation cost mate? Cheers looking good Adam.
Tip for when using silver tape use a cloth over the tape once you stick it down gets rid of bubbles looks better 🤠
Reason to be proud of your garage Adam. A great space, facility, workshop. The envy of many, and all your own work too. A great achievement. Well done. 👏
Lovely job Adam. You've given me some inspiration for a video on insulating our drying room
Looking good mate. Will definitely be watching these videos again when it comes to building my garage!
Enjoying these garage updates Adam, all useful stuff to know mate 🍻

Great video and great job. When I get a garage, I’ll be doing this.

Great video, and making me realise I need a trip to my sisters, Washington Tyne and Wear ❤
Great video - I’ve got a single post lift for my trials car / caterham. Its dead handy. Love the ford - my dad had one as a company car in the 80”s
Adam , check you have a few ridge vent tiles to allow the air to flow .
He doesn't need any vents he's got Air Permeable Breather Membrane
Good vid Adam my garage roof is a right pis tek for condensation might invest in some of this stuff !!!
Good video Adam!

Brilliant mate . Great how you always have a crack at doing everything yourself to save money💷💰💰
Awesome job mate paint the floor will look mint
Nice job, well done
Nicely done
Looks mint mate 👏🏼
Nice one Adam, good job well done I'd say! you know you want to do the walls now too though! Another video! Cheers mate

It should stay a lot cooler during the summer too! 👍
I would love to know what’s best for a steel cladded shed, it’s non drip cladding roof and 50mm box section. Thank you for the video Adam.
Always good content
Loving the hand tattoo 😅
The glitter gekko is a bit of you rocking it buddy 👍
Excellent video and something I want to do in mine 🙂
Thanks, that was very helpful.
Mint mate wish I could do something like that it's my dream
Stunning Adam
Thanks Dave
Good work Adam, better environment for the cars and you now😊🥵
Exactly Alex 😊👍🏼
Little tip for anyone doing this, put the roll of foil tape on a belt much easier and just pull it off the backing paper to any length you can manage
Belter of a job mate 👍

Canny job Adam, did my mancave recently and it makes a world of difference.
Mate that’s awesome. I’m literally just looking into similar myself. Im only local - would be mint to take a look sometime!
Looks bang on that buddy and hopefully it sorted the condensation and stops your neighbours hearing you wibble on to the camera lol
Quality video
Great vid, well done
Hiya , you asked me to telegram?
What’s your email? Andy
About time mate... thought you were MIA!
Belting job Adam. Await experts opinion in the comments section
nice tattoo 😊
tape engineering at its finest

Scam ….. that isn’t Adam
@@Bod3009 reported!
Been wanting to do this in my two 12x8 joint sheds, walls and roof. any tips any one, I keep my restored 2 strokes in there
Look at the guns on him man !😊 go on Adam !
rubber flooring next? that hard rubber with raised circles? will reduce the echo in the room and be much nicer to work in?!
A Cosworth, 147mph before cameras up the M11 to Stanstead.
Scared myself 😂😂
Where did you find the best deal for buying the boards please?
About time 😂😂😂

You are clearly very talented. Great video mate well done 👍👏
You'll be getting a sofa and a big telly on the wall next. Proper man cave😀👍
never mind that what's the green ghekko on your left hand about?
I see you have the big air-gap above the pir board but do you have ventilation to the air-gap?
Great job Adam I'd love 2 do that 2 my garage bit DIY is not my forte 😀
You can do it Alan, it's not that hard
@@Adam151082 I've only got 2 look at a blade & I bleed mate
Make sure you have vented soffit or put some vents into keep the air flow circulating above the insulation that type needs airflow above it
Make sure if you are fitting a two post lift that your concrete was mixed to the correct spec or you will get the bolts breaking out.
brilliant job might do mine is the boards expensive
Does any condensation form on the foil you can see? I want to do this in mine
I've got a question, where do you find the time for all the car restoration let alone adding insulation jobs into the mix 😀
@AdamSmithGiveaway. oh whal, really??? Do you want me to send you my bank details now??
fantastic mate. well done. what camera do you have? Great pic and sound!
Will you be filming the next vid in your Speedos? Parental Guidance required.
Great job Sir
Nice, what CDH did you get? I went for the 5KW Vevor and cant get the thing to work!!

Where did you buy the boards from and the cost mate
Canny 👌💚💛❤️👍
They do what’s called a midget 2 post ramp. It’s a ramp but only lifts the car up about 3 foot but enough room to work under the car for use in garages that have limited roof space
True. I noticed when the temp changes my car is soaking wet underneath with condensation. Not good. Factor this thousands of times over a cars life!!
Adam get yourself a little 5kw Chinese diesel heater. About £150. We’ll worth the money, simple to install. Plus it’s another video for you to make😉
1 gall of diesel burnt will make about 2 gallon of water, so dinnit
Cheap Chinese heater an x2 valuable cars don’t mix well
Fire extinguishers 🧯 at the ready
@@weirdobagins8948 the heaters can be installed outside in a box so there is no risk at all from warm air. 😳
@@paulriggers1558 And all that water will go outside in the exhaust? It will actually dry the air because it's replacing the damp air.
@@elobiretv perhaps there are different grades of cheap chinese diesel heaters?, my friend's "quality" item was nice + warm, but the garage walls + ceiling were soaking next night, when he didnt use the heater, it was fine
Good job mate, be interesting to see what the difference in temps are. What price and size were the insulation boards each?
Looks like 50mm celutex /kingspan
Nice job .it will retain some of the heat better but the cold damp bricks will radiate coldness.with the condensation .you need vented soffits or eave vents and ridge vents to allow air circulation.
Adam do you only really need a vapour barrier when you’re gna live in it?
Now u just need to store the cars elsewhere and do a grow…
😂 💨
Best comment 🤣🤣🤣
This guy is a proppa dude!
I insulated my garage to keep my cozzy warm.
Did the insulation sort the condensation mate?
