If you still have a that diesel heater Adam why don't you connect the exhaust pipe to one side of a little house radiator & the other side going outside. that way you get heat from the radiator heating up from the exhaust gases. Just fought id leave you this little tip
Heating your garage Adam? I thought you lot in the North East were proper men! Next you will be ordering a slimline tonic with an umbrella in it. 😀... P.S: only joking, love the channel!
Hi Adam seasons greetings and all best for New Year. The Chinese diesel heater fitted outside if you extend the Hot air outlet further down garage then put a pipe on the hot air inlet and fit it into base of garage it will circulate air better, plus your constantly warming up cold damp air from outside, where as the hot air pick up inside you'll be warming up preheated dryer air from garage making it more efficent. If that makes sense
Adam you have you Chinese Diesel Heater plumber in wrong. Firstly you should have it inside the garage so that it sucks warm air, at the moment you are heating cold air from outside. It needs moved inside on that wall where your pump is. This will then use the warmer air from inside the garage. Next thing you only run the exhaust outside to get rid of the CO2. Important to run the exhaust gasses through a radiator to take the heat from the exhaust gases. So much heat gets wasted through the exhaust gases. Hope this helps
you need to have the inlet from the heater pulling the air from within the garage, not from outside. I have a diesel heater from ebay in my 30sqm block shed, insulated with celotex and plastered (home pub) lol, this is the 2nd winter with the unit putting in lots of hours. last winter it was on 24hrs a day for 2 months. held the shed at 21 degrees on lowest setting. mine struggled at first as i was pulling in frezzing cold aire from outside, as soon as i put the air inlet in the shed it was pulling in hotter air as the room heated up. At this point its alot hotter than a hair dryer. Also, side note: have a carbon monixide detector in the gararge just for safety..
Those chinese heaters have been made illegal now in the UK. I wouldn't fancy using the 1 that throws a flame out either especially with 2 cozzies in the garages 😂. Great vid as always Adam. All the best
@@tlg7268 Do you have any links? Trading Standards are blocked the import of several Vevor products and seized thousands being imported - but they'd struggle to make them illegal... the design has existed for donkeys years.
Hi Adam, I think your heater is losing a ton of heat cos you dont have the heat line insulated right from the heater, I am sure you can get like a sleeve to cover the heat line. I am a Brit living in Canada since 2006, so I know how much insulation helps mate. My wife an I added 2inches of insulation to our house, so 4 up to 6inch, we use half the propane the previous owners used. Also fyi, you are losing maybe half the heat produced straight out the exhaust, check with a thermo reader. Thanks for sharing all your vids, great content mate.
My Sealey diesel heater was doing that too, I opened it up and lowered the pressure, there's an adjuster inside. Now it doesn't smoke/flame on start up and it doesn't use anywhere near the amount of diesel that it did. Mine is the same sort as you're new hyundai blue one. Only thing I found was the fuel hoses only last about 2 years but not too tricky to replace 👍
Hi Adam, ever considered a wood burning stove? We have the Hampton 5 and run it mainly on heavy duty pallets I get from work for free. Knocks out 5KW of heat and makes the whole downstairs nice and toasty.
I have a cast iron wood burner in my garage works perfect i have lots of wood old pallets etc kicking around and 4 trees in my garden so loads of dead wood but if you had to buy wood it wouldn't be a lot to heat a garage i wasn't sure when i got it but really is good. Love the channel especially the car reviews 👌
Whilst digging out, I would’ve put a nice flow and return underground from main house heating, on a zone valve and separate thermostat. But then I am a gas engineer and can do it, and doesn’t cost me anything.
Hi Adam , try asking around. Find out who has oil central heating for there house (it’s kerosene) I’m sure the could spare some. Just pump it out from there oil tank 👍🏻
I use a cheap chinese diesel heater the 8kw one. To heat a double front room in my house. We have a log burner and electric heaters, i don't use them in the winter i just use the diesel heater on kerosene. The entire winter heating costs me £300.
Used to run a large torpedo heater in an old workshop. Started to notice alot of soot gathering on flat surfaces. Personally i would run a webasto diesel, water heater with radiators fitted in the garages. You can exhaust the fumes outside. Fitted the same system to a friends canal boat, worked great.
I have got the exact same Hyundai heater you have Adam. I love it ,have been using it the last 3 months working on and off on my rally car in my garage.fastastic peace of kit only put it on four about 2-3 minutes every now and then soon warms garage up
😊love the channel Adam, watched you for several years ,when you had your subaru and when you built your garage. I think a hat 🧢 and 🧤 gloves could be the answer.😊😊 All the very best 🎉and keep the videos coming 😊
You should have invested in a Bullfinch heater (gas). Very cheap to buy, used £50. One would heat your garage on its very lowest setting, and on full chat, will heat a warehouse. They're used in the building trade to dry out houses that have been plastered.
Got one of the sip infrared for a Xmas present, looks the part and great heat , BUT as you said the thermostat control is crap, on my unit the room temperature on the digital screen never dropped, awful design, going to return it, very unhappy with the SIP , I had the old sip torpedo heater, lasted years
I have an air source heat pump in my garage. I expect my walls and roof is insulated though. Keeps the garage warm in Finnish winters, can be as low as -20 to -25c
That cdh needs the intake pipe bringing air from inside so that recycles the warm air. Those space heaters - your breathing in the exhaust fumes! Get your self a carbon monoxide alarm.
There is something wrong with your fire ball sip heater . They dont do the 🔥 out the front on start up when they are going correct. I have this sip fire ball for 3 years great heater no issues. I had a number of the Torpedo type heaters including the new one you have and they all give problems. Smells and the front plate falls out they are scrap. Happy new year
The diesel heater should be mounted inside like a camper van, with the exhaust inlet and outlet outside. The way you have the fresh air inlet outside will always be heating freezing cold air and not run efficiently, it supposed to recirculate inside 👍
If it's only putting out the same amount is heat as a hair dryer, then you've a problem with it. I've been running diesel heaters for years and they put out a huge amount of heat, there should easily be enough to heat that garage. Although i must say, you've set that diesel heater up in a really inefficient way....
🎉🎉😂😂😂😂 Hi mate you should take the air from the garage and circulate of the hot air vent, over and over. If you taking air from outside and putting to heat you using more diesel to get it hot, depending the weather outside. Another point. You made a nice box and looks fire retardant but it's too close the the roof, if all that insulation! Nice videos all discrimination for the heaters will help someone 😊
Use heating oil in the first on it is less smoky I have a different brand but my heater did the same being so smoky and when it started using heating oil it stopped
Seems like it would be much cheaper to run an air/air heat pump, and more convenient/less risk/less noise. Most of them has wifi aswell nowdays, which is nice so i can increase the temp a few minutes before i go out. At least here its super common for this type use.
My garage is a similar size to yours Adam, I use one of the Chinese style heaters which works ok. I don’t like using heaters that have an open flame since my mate destroyed his garage. My mk2 always used to smell of petrol, so i never took the risk.
Haven’t t watched vid yet Adam, but was thinking when you were doing this before, given garage is built as it is can’t you just drill through from house and pop a central heating radiator on in there? Just leave it on low to keep it above freezing and turn it up before you are going to go work in there. That’s what I’d be doing with an adjoining garage.
Hi Adam Love your channel. I've been running a Chinese diesel heater in my garage for over 12 months now with no problems but I do run it off a leisure battery being charged off a solar panel have a look at my channel to see . Keep up the good work 👍
Good video Adam. I would guess that the SIP heater pump is out of adjustment. If you turn the mixture down it should run clean and start without the flames.
I have a low use Rtech AC/DC TIG to match your Rtech Mig if youre interested. Works off a 13amp plug. Give me a shout if interested. Im just north of Newcastle.
Your channel is decent, but you really REALLY shouldn't post stuff that reviews a product when you've installed and are using them wrong. Your audience is huge and you're giving the incorrect information to thousands of people, because of user error..
Is you diesel heater plugged into your house power or a battery? I think they should run though a battery with a trickle charger. Might be wrong but i heard they can go on fire if theres a power cut. Does anyone know if thats right? Waiting for mine in the post❤
Yes you are correct, they need constant power to cool down between cycles, if you have a power cut, they cant cool down as needed. Car battery with small trickle charger will work well.
Fireball by name. Fireball by nature. Why try to save money when you end up putting everything youve built at risk ? You need 2 cheap fan heaters from Asda.

You can get ducting for the space heater outside and spread the heating out more evenly through the garage

For the heater rather than connecting it to a car battery you can get a mains convertor for it!

Chinese heater is meant to be fitted inside of garage. Exhaust & little air intake pipe put through holes to the outside. Happy new year.
Hi Adam , try asking around. Find out who has oil central heating for there house (it’s kerosene) I’m sure the could spare some. Just pump it out from there oil tank 👍🏻
The maxpeedingrods heater would be alot more efficient if you recirculated the air from the garage instead of heating the cold from outside
The first time you switched that SIP on, you must have shit yourself 😅
Cheers for the vid Adam… i think i asked you about this a few weeks back 👍🏻
Be nice If you could tap into your house central heating and install a couple of rads in the garage
I really enjoy this channel, it’s very informative and down to earth.

Red is strictly agri only in UK now
