Awesome addition to the mighty Prado, now you need to get out and do more camping trips in it 👍
Ps put some safety boots on when cutting steel, just some friendly advice that I'd give to my son.👍👍👍

Mate, could you tell me what bracket and mount type, you used for your Maxtrax please? I have a rhino rack xtray and trying to figure out how to do it. Your's looks great. Thankyou for the vid 👌

G'day Mark. i actually custom made my maxtrax mounts from a set of adventure kings awning mounts, the maxtrax board pins and a cut to shape piece of I believe 2mm aluminium
sheet metal. I cut it out with a grinder after tracing the board with a tape measure.
you could probably do it with sheet metal not ally but itd be pretty heavy i reckon
      my personal suggestion,
      1. grab adventure kings awning brackets and maxtrax board pins (all in about $70 aud)
      2. cut 2 strips about 2cm wide and 30cm long from whatever material you can get ahold of (preferably some form of metal)
      3. attach pins at correct gap between board holes (27cm)
      4. attach kings awning brackets at same spot on both strips
      5. space awning strips apart on roof rack according to gap between front and rear of board pin holes (roughly 89cm apart)
hopefully this gives you a good idea how to make relatively inexpensive multi fitment maxtrax mounts for your roof rack
here is a link to the pins, the awning brackets and a diagram for pin layout on the mk2 recovery boards

thanks for the comment, sorry for such a long winded response haha

looks very similar to a kickass one at a better price

Yeah, id say its probably the same for like 90% of the parts. There'd be some extra thing that kickass adds to charge a premium. Maybe a floor?
