You speak such common sense, I enjoy your explanations. I understand why they say all cats are ADHD and all dogs are ASD now. You take such good care of your fur clients. The dogs are all picking up on each other, just like children. You certainly had a busy day. And such a variety of grooms, wow. You must have been so exhausted by the end of the day.
My best friend has a labradoodle. He has been groomed on a regular basis since he was 8 weeks old. He comes into the groomer, hops up on the table, gets in the tub, let's his nails and paws be done with zero fuss. He is amazing.
People who say you need to slow down have no clue. Dogs run out of patience. They reach a point where they are just done. Even the best behaved dog has a personal time limit. It is better if you are done before they are "done".
Love your work ethic! I have a golden doodle and I groom him myself, combing and brushing are part of our daily routine because I refuse to allow him to get matted . Some of the dogs you groom make me want to cry !
I know all groomers are different. But there are certain things that I will not do to a dog…like harshly spray anything directly into their sensitive ears… especially with a large spray bottle. I will gently pour what’s necessary into the ears…but I pour it in gently. I try not to get any water in their nose or in their ears. I know that they dislike this terribly and too much water going down their nose can cause pneumonia. I am very cautious around their face and head. I could not do what you do. But like I said, everybody’s different. The twisting of the hair in the ears is an absolute no-no for me. I was taught at the twisting of the hair in the ears is extremely painful, and under no circumstances will I subject any dog to that . I will gently pull out the ear hairs a little bit at a time to prevent hurting the dog and causing any discomfort, if there is hair that runs deep, I will use hemostats but again, without hurting the dog. I groom dogs the way I would want my dog to be groomed…. With respect and dignity. I would think that most dogs would react the way these dogs do having water sprayed directly in their faces and/or heads. I do not think I would like it much either and I don’t agree that they are reacting this way, because they are not used to being groomed. Just my opinion. I also cannot get a a dog’s coat properly prepared for a haircut without brushing the coat during the drying process. This is why I do not use cage dryers on coats that need to be prepped for a groom. I’m curious how you get around that or if that’s something you even consider? It makes a difference, even if you’re just shaving a dog. Although I don’t agree with a lot of what you do, I do think you have a good heart and you’re trying to help out as many dogs as you can. Sometimes, I just can’t help wonder, if dogs could talk what would they say about the way they are handled when they are groomed. Not trying to trouble trouble until it troubles me not wanting to be easily offended or offend. Grooming for 28 years now Good luck to you, MaryBeth
@estherwinnie12 I am a groomer also and I totally agree with you. I would never put liquid in the dogs ears by spraying it in them and she puts a lot. Also the hemos and twisting that has got to hurt. I mean they cry. I can't watch her anymore.
It is painful to watch. Unfortunately, most people don’t know the difference and take her word for it. I don’t think she is a bad person, but there are a lot of things that are questionable and certainly not something I would allow my dogs to have done to them. There is certainly a difference between a professional and qualified groomer and one that is not. 😢
i completely agree with you. i feel that starting with nails is probably not a great idea when you have an anxious dog that is groomed infrequently. you want to give them a reason to trust you, which hopefully by the end they trust you and feel safe with you, more than at the start. they might be a bit more tired at the end so they might not be as resistant to clippers or that stupid noisy dremel. i don't understand why she doesn't invest in getting some happy hoodies
I love your glasses at the beginning of the video! Every time I see you wear them you look just like Trever Horn from the buggles from the late 70s and 80s. Great job with the animals
I was trained to take out ear hair a little at a time. Respectfully I disagree with the way you pulled his ear hair out. I know it is only momentarily painful, but it still could be done without hurting the dog.
I love watching your videos and the one who's owners who didn't want their dog shaved and would of been better for the dog.i cried when they took that poor dog home with really bad mates. And you are so good at your job and I love how you talk to them. And your own dog is so gorgeous.
When did Rose come back to work for you she had quit for a while I think it was like back in 2021 or 2022 where she had left for a little bit of a while she had her own RUclips channel for when she was doing knitting I guess I'll see you in a few times that I know she went on a leave of absent or is she just couldn't remember which
I'm confused with timeline. I thought it was mobile grooming. I like the clippers that also take up the hair! I thought she said she would never use anything else. But does. Unless I'm getting time line all over the shop😅
The yanking of the fur in dog ears is completely unnecessary and cruel for dogs with healthy ears that do not need it. Unless the dog is prone to ear infections then what you're doing is completely unnecessary pain for the dog.
As a groomer myself, through lots of things that I do not agree on. You can’t spray water and product directly into a dogs face and say that they are clearly not used to being groomed. Just my opinion and an observation. I have been grooming for 27 years and dogs need to be treated with Dignity and respect. They are living feeling creatures….I’m not trying to badmouth any one. Sometimes these videos are painful to watch.
I think sweet Batman was worried that the little Yap Yap was going to harm you. He was there in calm support of you. I’m glad you will choose to abandon these grooms when disturbed and scared dogs are trying to attack. If you can’t get them to cooperate then who can?! As you say, they are better to be under sedation at the vet. Well done with all the other dogs. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💗
I've heard terrible stories of the owners taking their dogs anxiety medication that was intended for the dogs groom! That second dog didn't look like it was medicated. My opinion only
I can't imagine that poor little blk & white shihzoo would ever want to come back again! Between the harsh water pressure to his face and the drastic high speed hand held dryer, i surprised the poor baby didn't have a heart attack 😢...breaks my heart to see how rough you can be
Love the all day videos. I enjoy watching you and wish when I had my Rat Terriers you were on RUclips because it sure would have helped me when doing their nails.
As a groomer with 27 years experience, I ALWAYS call and let the client know I will have to go shorter. I wouldn’t dare do it without letting them know first
Same with me at my salon, I would love to do a hand scissor on a doodle/poodle but owners do not take care of their dogs coat enough to do that type of trim. You are not being rough. Let these people spend 1 day at a normal pet salon and they will think differently.
I don’t like using the nail clippers because I don’t know how I do it but I hit the quick almost every time. So I don’t use the nail clippers anymore I use the dremul every time.
It's these kinds of videos that make me NEVER want to take my dog to a groomer! ....If someone was damn near waterboarding you in the face with water, aggressively handling you, and forcing you to do things you don't want to do, YOU"D squirm around too! ....YOU are waaaay too aggressive with these dogs, even the best behaved one was scared to death of you! WTF!
The reason vets prescribe sedatives is because what we have to do with them is so different than just water and clippers. We try our best not to use sedatives or muzzles unless deamed unsafe for us and them. Theyre gonna get poked by needles and blood drawn and if they are sick or in pain, they react with biting as well. So their reaction in a vet clinic is so different in groomers sometimes. And i feel like the patients we see prior to the next snitch on us! They just know they getting poked once they go in the back lol but im glad you try no meds first to see how it goes for you and doggo. Sometimes ours go blue and purple from heart rate or just full out try to eat us lol
I do think some of the good dog etc etc are over the top. I guess it works for some. Different strokes I guess. Different audiences. There is one that is always crying about the dogs. I'm fascinated with the personality of the groomers lol. Personalities l should say!!! I'm not even a dog lover. I just stumbled on this and became addicted. Never knew it was a thing that happened.
I will not watch her again she is too rough on those dogs she yanks them and is rough with the brush and not to mention how she puts hemos in the dogs ear and twists it. That is pure torture. Why use the dremel it's loud just use the clippers
I agree with the pulling hair out of the ears. It hurt hearing the dogs whine in pain. But dremmels actually are definitely safer than clippers. You know when to stop before you hit the quick. Clippers it is harder.
I'm just a pet parent and I don't know the do's and don'ts when it comes to grooming, but I must say this looks too aggressive. I don't know. Maybe everyone grooms differently. I've had the luxury of randomly watching my groomer, and it didn't look aggressive at all. Then again, I don't know the temperaments of these dogs. Just my humble opinion, no shade.
So, "you're a good boy/girl" loses its meaning if you say it again and again but "you're ok" doesn't? I should think that you'd want to use ANY means necessary to calm a nervous dog.
The difference, which she highlights, is the intention of the two phrases. The “you’re a good boy/girl” is praise, and rewarding the dog. Sometimes that can rile them up. Meanwhile “you’re ok” is not praise, but instead like a command. In addition, it’s not taking a non-ruled dog and praising them, but taking a riled up dog and attempting to calm them.
The wee black and white dog omg😢thankfully that’s not my dog because I’d definitely crack up the way you handled him you can tell he’s old with his little tongue hanging out the dog you called greasy! I think you took your frustration out on him because 2 clients didn’t show up and I think you can be a bit heavy handed I think if you where the only groomer on this earth I’d do my dog myself poor dogs needed comforted but oh no not you have a heart for Gods sake they don’t understand what’s going on 😢
Why did you take a 15 blade on his private area? That area is very sensitive and you shouldn’t use anything shorter than 10 blade. It didn’t seem necessary to bald him like that., I’ve groomed for 15 years And would never have done that
And if you are for any other job if you didn't show up you didn't get paid for it just like when I worked if I can go to work I wouldn't get paid for and if the client was in the hospital or doctor's office or anything like that we didn't get paid for it so why would you all get paid for doing something you don't do that's why I do my own dogs in my own hair there would never be an open card anywhere
Nah, you are way too rough, not to mention you don't consult the owner before doing things they didn't ask for. I'd be super pissed if I showed up to get my dog and you had cut them differently than asked.
You’re way too rough on the pups. If you don’t like talking in videos because it slows you down, maybe having a channel isn’t for you. ‘Girl With The Dogs’ channel is so much more enjoyable to watch.
You are WAY TOO ROUGH with people pets. You OVERBOOKED and get in such a hurry you are entirely too rough. Your cruel pulling the ear hair. I hope these pet parents watch and NEVER use you again. How do you expect the animals too stay calm when your hyped up yourself. I would rather hear good boy/girl over and over and see a dog that is not scared than them being terrified. Hate the dremel. Yes, I really enjoy full-length videos. The way you explain the grooming is very educational.
Thanks Marybeth for continuing to upload these videos. I'm one of your UK subcribers.

Only can shave the paw pads, don’t use scissors as you will cut their paw instead happened to a friend of mine
