    I add more ingredients to mine but I like the idea of mixing the yolk separate then adding the chopped whites. Been craving egg salads sandwiches for a while. Going to try this method. I have always just chopped up the whole egg and mixed in the ingredients but I think this will make for a more creamy texture. Won't add sugar though. I hate when I get egg or meat salad with sweet pickles, totally ruins it for me.

      Yeah , agree with the sugar . Ent that fussed with the mayonnaise either , prefer Salad cream .

      I've made a whole lotta egg stuff in my life. The thing that makes this "look so creamy" isn't becuz they separated the white and the yolk. It's becuz they used a soft boiled egg. Americans usually use hard boiled.
      This entire thing kinda cracks me up. Play with your food a lil bit! Put things together that taste good to u separately. Add fresh herbs and seasonings. U'll learn to LOVE good things! 🤗

    I altered the recipe, but the main takeaway was I mixed the yolk with mayo and a little salt before adding the chopped whites. Evenly distributes the goodness of the yolk all up in the sandwich. I added a drop of sriracha and some pickled red onion. Delish

    • @ilazernerd
      @ilazernerd 6 месяцев назад

      It gives a better texture to the dish as you have larger chunks of the white part. If you don't separate it you end up mushing it all together. Still edible just a different way of serving it.

    Steam the eggs for 8 mins using a vegetable steamer trivet. Bring water to a boil, place the eggs on trivet, cover. Never submerge the eggs in boiling water, this discolors the yolk.

    Any reason of boiling the eggs with salt?

    • @SuperLittleTyke
      @SuperLittleTyke Год назад +2

      I think it's intended to prevent the egg leaking and forming trails if it cracks in the boiling water. Years ago, in Germany, I discovered that Germans prick the end of the egg with an egg pricker before lowering the egg into the water. Immediately you will see tiny bubbles emanating from the hole. This stops the egg from cracking, thus salt is unnecessary. My egg pricker was purchased in Karstadt, a large German department store about 50 years ago and it's still as good as new. It does need to be handled with care as the needle is _very_ sharp! This little kitchen utensil is now widely available on the internet.
