The absolute worst version ever done!!! It isn't even a Shanty anymore!!! No respect for the original. It is really sad, because Voiceplay has the voices and skills to do one heck of a Shanty, if they want to. They could have nailed it. Instead they completely rearranged it, to the point that it no longer was the same song.

Love this, When I was 18 (legal age was 18 at that time 1975) My friends and I used to go to a small bar in Hartford Ct by the train station (its not there anymore) but there was a band called "The Morgans" who used to sing this and many other songs. It was a time fun and frivolity and I haven't heard songs like this in such a very long time, thanks for putting a smile on my face. P.S. they also sang a song called "Six Old Ladies"... who got stuck in the lavatory LMAO Love you all...P.S. I'm Sorry for your loss

idk about the rest of you but the part of this arrangement that truly hooked me was the god damn jungle drum perc that Layne is casually rocking here. Geoff's low notes are always a treat, and the rest of Voiceplay is no slouch either, but DAMN does the perc really sell this whole arrangement for me.

Thank you. But what's the difference between "fat" and "thick"?
For the case of the low notes, I use the term thick for notes, that are highly compressed and overdarkened, as it would be a very dense thing, like a Super Muscular Man, with very big muscles.
I use the term fat, for a very strong note for example, like when you push a lot for dumbeel press, for example. I use both of these terms, to describe like the density of the note. Both terms are synonyms, but with a different representation, as I mentioned before.
Why say Bb1-G#1-F#1-Eb1 if you can go Bb-Ab-Gb-Eb. Little bit of music theory.
It's the same thing mare. Everyone has their own preference to mention a note, regardless if it's flat or sharp. You don't have always to mention all flat notes, you can also refer sharp notes, at the same sequence of the flat notes.
What shall you do with the drunken sailor? If you ask me, you guys just rebranded it in the way only VoicePlay can! You guys completely turned it upside its head and changed it up, yet extremely successfully retained the earworm quality of the original. The world should be excited to find out! This is such a fun and incredibly unique rendition of this song. Jose & Bucky were incredible and fun collaborators to have for this project. I love Jose's face in the thumbnail 🤣

My teacher in year 1 used to do story time. He was a musician so the stories had a song in them. That was one song he sang to us in a pirate story. I don't know if he wrote the stories to go along side the songs he chose to play,but regardless I had forgotten him till I listened to this.

OY! This song was a staple for practice for tonette and piano in my early years. I don't hate it, it is a fun, whimsical song, and fun to play, but; this version! What a riot!
