Alchemist's music is full of things music people would call "golden tones." Golden Tones are slight switches or sounds that scrape against the common thread of the music or beat. He also uses a lot of chord progression and plays with effects in time; 4/4 time, 3/4 time, etc... It make you feel like the sounds are floating in the background instead of hitting you in the face like a bass drum or snare; which are typically used heavily in most music. He's a genius, undoubtedly.

@@horsehockeyproductions I began listening to mac back when he released kids so im a little more old school and biased to his older more hip-hop/bar heavy albums compared to something like swimming. I will be honest i have not given all of his eps a thorough listen so i will just include the albums/mixtapes that are most popular/what ive listened to most.
      1. Watching Movies with the sound off

Obviously there are a lot more and just because something is lower on the list doesn't mean its bad its just my opinion. I also genuinely feel bad about it but i cant bring myself to listen to circles because it will hit me hard emotionally and i need to be prepared to give that album the respect it deserves. One last thing out of all the celebrity deaths Mac's hit me the hardest because i started to listen to him when i was 13 (22 now) and i got put onto him by new friends that turned into the longest/closest friends ive ever had.
My transition from kid to adult always had mac as background music and no matter what emotions i was feeling Mac had an album that spoke to me during the time and it was like a safe place no other artist has been able to give me. RIP Mac

Mac will always be my favourite rapper, what a genius. Really grew up with his music as a teenager now I’m 21 and still listen to his music. He also has so much amazing unreleased music on soundcloud. Check out Mac Miller pure if anyone miss’s his music.

He really needs to react to this album. Really any N.E.R.D album, but No one ever really dies truly is amazing, the production is ahead of its time. But that's not surprising seeing as all N.E.R.D albums have production way ahead of its time.

This album holds a special place in my heart. Not the best album of all time, but definitely my favorite album of all time just bc the impact it had on me.
Since he passed, to this day I cant listen to a Mac album without fighting tears. I heard of Mac before KIDS even dropped, my cousin whom I was close with died and I looked up songs about losing a cousin. "What up Cousin" off his mixtape "The Jukebox: Prelude to class clown" happened to come up and I listened to it. I was hooked instantly.
When KIDS dropped I was blown away as a 12 year old who was in love with hip hop. Mac was everything I wanted to be and call it weird but I shaped my whole life after this man and he was my hero.
Unfortunately this went downhill around Macadelic, this album, and Faces as I seemed to get into heavy drugs at the same time he did. Not because of his influence though, but being able to relate on a whole new scale brought me a lot closer to Mac.
After years of drug abuse, I got Sober and figured if I could pull through it then my hero definitely could get straight one day. When I woke up to headlines he died it put a hole in my chest.
Celeb deaths do nothing for me. This absolutely broke my world though. Mac was a god to me, to this day I can't help but tear up even just thinking about how much life he had left to live and what he could have done.
Rest in Peace Malcom, we love you❤

I’m not sure if people will appreciate this comment as much as I did but I level with this so much. I feel like memorizing cadences and all the information made me forget a lot of songs that I could recite from memory. I had the star room and a few of my other favorite songs from him I kept with me and they helped get me through basic. Much love

Never understood how anyone thinks this is his best project. I definitely rank Good AM above it. What I love about this album is that the best songs on here are some of Macs best songs period, but the entirety of the album as a body of work isnt amazing. I am Who I am, Red Dot Music, Objects in the Mirror, Youforia and Aquarium definitely are are some of his best pieces.

fun fact: at 8:38 when Mac says "burn one" its looped in a way that makes it sound like he's also saying "marijuana" so its a double entendre. Such a clever part of the album.

Haven’t read through the comments to see if someone has mentioned it, but you have to listen to this album synced up with the movie Mac played at the release party/listening and talked about interviews. It’s about a sea turtle - Reddit or google it and it is an easy find on RUclips(along with when to start the sync). It is incredible.
