Thanks for using our wrench! Let us know next time you change your oil - our drain tool works pretty well for that. Much less messy than a plastic bag.

If you didn’t bother with draining the filter before removal of the plastic canister, why remove the bottom piece after the fact? I bet a lot of people do filter changes and never mess with the bottom section at all. Toss the plastic drain tool and the small O-ring. No need to deal with it at all is there?

You are correct-Either way would be workable.
Id check the o ring for decomposition at some point though. Just comes with the filter kit, so may as well.

In 2019 and 2020 they deleted the external transmission oil cooler . Recommend you purchase the Toyota part remove the spacer and reinstall the splitter that enables a external transmission oil cooler. On you tube you will see videos showing excessive temps towing not having the external cooler.

Tons of videos on External transmission oil cooler being deleted and people installing one back and the part you need from Toyotal

What made you go with a soft bed cover over a hard one? I like Diamondback but they are so expensive and do add 80-100lbs to the truck
