Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has been with me for almost 7 days now and here is my ongoing review. The more I spend time with it, the more I learn about it. AI is great, battery is great, but there is also a serious problem with AI that needs resolution.
Let's dive in and get some details.

Is the screen colors / brightness worst than the S23 AND S22 ULTRA ?? there is lots of reviews about it looking more dull even at QHD resolution 😢 apparently due to the anti reflective screen .

I'm surprised Samsung didn't make more of a deal about the anti-glare display. It's an awesome improvement 💯
I've been using the Note20 Ultra since it came out. I ordered this phone and should be getting it soon, so I'm pretty stoked. Even this Note20 is still really good, though.

I know a lot of people don't want to hear this but they had problems with the s24 ultra they had a green line running down the screen and a white line across when they boot the phone up and the guy calls up Samsung and Samsung says no you got to talk to the dealer and when he went to the dealership the dealership is looking Verizon is looking at him like what did you do to break the phone he couldn't even take it back the person said they had to buy a new one and then trade the old one in what a rip off so I'm sticking with the s23 ultra I know you may not want to hear it but I hope everything works out for you and I hope you got it from Samsung and not a dealership you get it unlocked their phones are the best and believe it or not they are different because I brought a Samsung Galaxy A52 5G from Samsung unlocked I was going to get it from Metro by T-Mobile and I'm glad I didn't because their screen was an LCD screen what a rip off but I really sincerely hope you have a good phone and they don't try to rip you off have a good day

@@sebertspestsolutions I had to get a note10 to get VoLTE, then got a 21ultra for 5g, then a 23ultra to get the s-pen back. This 24 is tempting with all the discounts, but I'll probably wait for a 25 or 26, depending on features.

I'e got the S24 ultra but i'm thinking about returning it as when side by side the S21 ultra' colours there deeper more saturated when watching RUclips 4k hdr footage the S21 ultra' s screen is more dynamic brighter images
Upgraded from the S21 Ultra and am really excited to finally have an S Pen and to see what they do with the new AI features. Also integrating the camera features and quality into Instagram and Snapchat is huge too. Still loved the S21 Ultra and it was still a GREAT phone. Probably the longest I have waited to upgrade phones and that is saying something for the quality of Samsung products

If you have a s23ultra. No need to upgrade. Forget AI do things manually

I would love to see a navigation test. Something like: the Samsung S24 will drain battery at 2% / minute while navigating GPS over 5G. I made those figures up because literally no-one on RUclips is testing the navigation even though it's an extremely common use case and is notorious for draining battery.

Display colors are so bad! If i change to vivid nothing changes. And everyone is saying that is amazing best so far. It's not true, s23 ultra colors was better 1000 times!

What will happen to the glare reduction when you put on a screen protector? I'd imagine that benefit goes out the window. I could be wrong tho.
I received my S24 Ultra yesterday and absolutely love it! I had Exynos version of S22 Ultra until now and while I never had any issues with it this is another level.

Yes, it's literally a difference between day and night. My s24 Ultra lacks a lot of saturation and I hope that they will fix that with the next software update

Iam NOT happy about that and as I got my device 2 days ago ,directly ordered from Samsung , I am really planning to send it back if there is no update fixing this problem the next week .

Hey Saki is the display that washed out looking compared to the s23u? Have you tried to put a tempered glass screen protector on it to see if it negates the anti reflective properties and makes it look vibrant again. That would be great if you can test this out. Also the new one plus device is over 4000 nits. I still prefer Sammy though.
The protector actually negates the anti reflection but color still stays a bummer...op12 is a fantastic beast in almost all category yeah but is a Sucker in camera

My advice for you if you have it try a glossy film screen protector. On the other hand if you wanna get it but have doubts go see it. One of the reasons apart from the price was my getting the S23 U...I like slightly curved, vibrant displays and knowing me I wont keep it for 7 years lol
I am reading lots of reviews about the colors and screen on s24 ultra looking washed off/ dull compared to older models... apparently it is DUE to the anti reflective screen .. why would we want that? If it looks worst?? ... and ofcourse NO youtuber talking about this !
@johnjohn6808 No, this includes with the small and plus model. Not that they have reflective glass but the panel is washed out too.

Picked my s24U a few days ago and I am blown away at how good this thing is.
Sent mine back. Disappointed in the cameras. I decided to keep my ZFold5 after comparing photos side by side and the ZFold5 consistently produced better photos. Not sure if it's the post processing but I made sure all the settings were the same and the quality wasn't even close.
Lost my note9 at venice beach a few weeks ago. Great phone. Asurian didn't have my phone. So they gave me s23+ which I'm trading in for the s24ultra. All in all $8 a month now for 3 years. Can't kive without my s-pen. Thanks for the $150 was able to get ear buds, case, battery pack.
I am wondering why they configured colour reproduction of the display to be so washed out. Compared to my S22 Ultra it is a difference between day and night. Setting the screen mode to "Vivid" unfortunately doesn't do much.
The colours lack from saturation a lot and hopefully they will fix that with the next software update.
Everything else is top notch and I can't complain about anything else.
S24 ultra display is very washed out.. Less vibrant... Less saturated.. Less contrast compared to s23 ultra. Even the brightness at full (without going into sunlight) is very dull.
The display is a huge downgrade. Eveything just looks very dull and washed out. It doesn't pop... There is no punch to the colours
Vivid and natural screen mode look identical.
Samsung mentioned the used a dynamic amoled display like they do in their other flagship devices.. . But this looks like a very muted.. Toned down LED display. IT just looks flat and boring. Can't believe what they have done.
It's the new anti glare glass that's why.

It’s not a problem. After many owners complained about the over saturated photos and screen they listened and made adjustments. You may claim that it looks good, but scenes in any format should be reproduced as they really appear. Maybe they should allow you to adjust from the baseline? Unfortunately the over saturation was really negatively affecting picture and video.

Do you have also pixel issues in the samsung weather app? Especially when it shows the weather in the night and you look closely while scrolling the display shows kind of squares. Do you have the same thing? I think it's a software problem. Thank you very much. Greetings Mark

What a time to be alive, spending $1500 on a phone, that's going to charge you for features smh. That's ridiculous, when the time comes that they start charging, it'll be better to just get cheaper phones if you're going to be spending extra money on AI features anyway. I really don't like the idea of features already built on my phone and having to pay for it. Paying for a third party to do something is one thing, but paying a subscription for just using the features already built on my phone is a business practice I can never get behind or support. From now on, I'll have to be more cautious about any samsung products in general (TVs, tablets, computers, etc.). This type of BS, is were I draw the line of paying premium price and showing brand loyalty for something. With this news, I already have some regrets pre-ordering S24 Ultra, and I haven't even recieved the phone yet smh.
OK... you are reading into the line about charging after 2025. They never said they WOULD charge. They are just establishing the minimum free time you can expect. Without setting this standard they could start charging next week. You are effectively adding the word "only" to the sentence as in only free until the end of 2025.. and that isn't what it says. It says "we will not charge you anything for any of these features until at least the end of 2025" I can add at least, because that is explicitly suggested by the statement and the information available.
Do you know what the industry will look like in 2026? do you know if charging will be the standard by then? or maybe it will become expected that the features are free. But if samsung suddenly changed course and said .. as of tomorrow we are going to start to charge for the features.. first they would get sued, and second the uproar would be deafening. The lawyers wrote that sentence, not the marketing department. They might charge, they might not. The only thing we can say for sure is that we have 23 free months.

I still have the S22 ultra which I still find a topnotch phone. I think I will carry it till the S25 or even S26 Ultra. Spending €1000 to buy a "2 models later" phone is a bit too much

A I features are coming to the S23 series in a few months. I will be patient and save $ at the same time. I will also keep my 10x zoom, which I use all the time on my 23ultra 🇺🇸
Lot of Ai features will not come to S23ultra due to new chipset the cloud based ones will probably come later on

I have had Samsung since the note 3 and I love the phones. I have pre-ordered the last 3 and the 1st 2 were great. The Ultra 24 however is faulty and when you order direct, Samsung does not have a positive policy to help. Hrs of driving and on the phone with techs they decided I was to front $1700 and and send me a working phone and do some refunds. Got a new phone in 2 days but it was a fake phone (demo) and they wanted another $1700 to mail another phone. Still don't have the joy of operating the 24 ultra.

To get the real speeds of wifi7, your internet connection bandwidth should be faster than wifi6 speeds and atleast the same speed as wifi7

The S24 Ultra is already $1,300. Then they want to charge you for most of the AI features? So if you’re someone who is not willing to pay more money for AI features that should be free, then basically the display and the battery life are the only upgrades? Not cool 😒

Has anyone heard of a battery test yet? I know it's supposed to be an improvement, but the real-world test is what I go by.
He said it's better than last year but on par with the iPhone 15 Pro Max I believe. TBH, I'm not convinced to trade in my S23U.

Is it worth the swich from a fold 5 to a s24 ultra?
Well i ordered the S23 Ultra lol...too sweet a deal to pass up...1k euros and from Germany and it'll be here tomorrow. It'll be the the second time I've had an inbuilt S pen since the Note 8 so I had better look up your old videos. BTW I told you on X how much I get charged on an app for generating AI wallpapers but those guys have to pay bills....I do not get why Samsung will want to do this especially if other OEMs adopt AI features (which they will) and do not charge at alll. And I'll be getting those AI featres in a couple of months so it's going to spread to millions of units.
Changing vivid and natural mode does nothing. Colours currently bugged they look muted everyone has noticed as we got it yesterday. We need an update same for the camera.

I hate the way s24 has lost the swipe up geatures I used on my Note 20. The buttons that you now need to have visible; take up a huge tranche of screen real escape.
I just received My S24 Ultra less then an hour ago today (January 25). i'll be working to set it up tomorrow (Friday after work).
I am having faded display.. low light camera issues.. I am in contact with Samsung service center and customer supports for hours.. still no resolution .. They are not saying a software upgrade is coming.. looks like 10 yrs old display and camera. Disappointed

Why is not a single RUclipsr talking about the screen being not as vibrant and actually pretty dull with colors. it's so obvious yet nobody mentioned it on their first reviews. Every other Samsung phone I have looks way better in person if you look at the screen, it looks so flat and not vibrant at all, it's all washed out. And if that is because of the anti reflective coating, I rather have a reflective screen with great colors. I might actually send mine back because after all a phone is only as good as its screen.
I opted for the 1T, & there was NO additional $150 credit. None. Nowhere on the screen. Yes, I did use your link. So, what now..... hhhmmm...

I've got my s24 ultra. Something I bitced immediately was how they dulled down the colours. My s24 ultra was very vibrant and colours were strong but this s24 ultra is not as colourful. It's quite 'greyish' It's going to take time to get used it it

Wi Fi 7 is going to be super fast?? Just like 5G was supposed to be....
5G is far more complex, designed for large-scale deployment and low-latency applications outside of the home or office. WiFi 7 operates at much smaller level (home or office) and all it requires is a WiFi 7 router. 2 different categories altogether.

I never had any issues with a scratched or cracked camera lens. I do prefer cases with individual lens cutouts vs the entire camera area being open.
The iPhone looked horrible next to this! 😂 I have the S23 Ultra and I’m keeping it for awhile. Plus, it sucks that Samsung is probably going to make people pay for AI in the future.

This phone doesn't have a target market. If you own an ultra 21 or later, this phone is pretty much the same thin
S24u display not as bright and vivid like my s23u. Might return the s24u because of the display.

I have the s23 Ultra and I'm very much content especially when I heard the problems that the s24 is having like when they turn it on a green line running from top to bottom and a white line Crossing it and then because they got it from Verizon they called Samsung and Samsung you have to talk to the dealer it's not a problem when they made the phone then they took the Horizon and they're looking at them like what did you do to break this phone this guy had to buy a new phone and then take the old one back and he lost money so I'm hoping and praying the phone I have now will last a couple years it's already got scratches and grooves in the front I was wearing it on a lanyard and it just rubbed up against a wooden counter and got these deep grooves in it I was upset because the phone isn't even like wasn't even a couple months old
