Hey Roman, could you start telling us which country the electric motors in various EVs come from? It seems like it's really important to you to mention the country of origin of a gas engine, while I'd like to know who's building the motors "of the future."
China is the leader in EV motors, batteries and the vast majority of “green” technologies. Of course they are also the largest consumers of oil, coal and natural gas. Great review. But I think it's important to clarify the numbers when talking about towing so that people don't assume when they buy a $100K vehicle built on a truck frame that it will automatically be able to tow heavy loads. There's some really crazy stuff going on with these 2023 4x4 Wagoneer vehicles with the new 3.0L motor. The high tow ratings approaching 10,000lb are ONLY available if the vehicle is equipped with the "Heavy Duty Trailer Tow Package" (called "Max Tow" in the Owner's Manual for some reason). If you forget to add that little $995 package, your tow ratings are reduced by over 40%!!! For example, 5,750lb in the Wagoneer L 4x4 and 5,400lb in the Grand Wagoneer L 4x4. That's a HUGE difference that is important for people to understand. I would love to hear from Jeep explaining why there is such a huge difference. But don't believe everything you read on RUclips. Go check out the Jeep Owner's manual for yourself!
Agreed I had to make sure we clarified at the dealership we wanted the max tow and we added the package..we are towing that same flying cloud in the future
As much as I love the Grand wagoneer wagoneers in general their price point is what would keep me from ever buying one which is a shame because it is a awesome vehicle towing capabilities it's off road capabilities but price point I'm sorry it's just way too much money for something even if it's a luxury bottle version it's just too much money but then again that might just be me

1,360 lbs (subtract 600lbs or so for tongue weight) and remaining is about 760lbs, which doesn’t include driver or occupant weight. So there is no way to get your family in that thing and tow 10,000lbs. Just marketing fluff.
I have a Grand Cherokee L with the Pentastar. When we bought it the 6,200 lbs towing capacity was great for our needs, sadly didn't take payload (1,100 lbs) into consideration. Now we have a vehicle that can tow OR can fit the whole family, but won't do both. That is a very important aspect that is overlooked way too often.
Not guessing. I have an airstream. The tongue weight of that 25 foot trailer is 875 pounds empty. Head cargo propane etc. in my trailer comes in at 1080 pounds on the cat scales
In what world does $107,000 seem a good price for a family vehicle when most familys don't make near 50k per year combined less if they do the adults are 9 times out of 10 working 90-95% of the time just to pay bills and then come home barely eat and pass out only to do it again the next day a 100k+ SUV is completely unreasonable
3.0 with all that power and torque means it highly boosted and internally stressed, will be interesting how reliable these engines are, a 3.6 or larger incline 6 would have been a marketing edge that jeep missed.
Hasn’t traditionally in-line sixes been preferred for reliability in this kind of capacity? Trucks were inline sixes for decades for towing. In-line sixes from Toyota and Nissan were renowned for their ability to take high horsepower and boost; part of that is too the inherent benefits of an in-line six design. These turbo charged engines are designed for low rpm torque which puts a lot less stress on the engine compared to a smaller v8 or v6 that has to get high into the rpm’s to get any rig going.
@@IGmeanwell yes but I wouldn't trust one from Stellantis of all manufacturers. A boosted i-6 is a lot more complicated than a V8, of which Dodge already has a bad history of cam and lifter issues with. Stellantis is gouging Jeep customers, based entirely on Jeep's brand name and reputation. It's unconscionable!
Yeah, yeah! They put the Hurricane I-6 in it. So, what? We still don't know whether the new engine is solid.
That vehicle shouldn't cost more than $65k USD!
107 G you say is reasonable? You must make too much cash !!! That's a complete rip off Have a great day!
Clearly lost touch with reality thinking it’s a good idea to put their own Nissan advertisement into the content stream. Seriously if this is the direction TFL is going I will be looking elsewhere for my vehicle related content.
Anyone else feel like the interior is a lot nicer then the exterior ? Exterior is very bland to me while the interior is superb.
That interior is going to wear like shit- way too much piano black. Frankly any vehicle over 50-60k shouldn't be using cheap and poor-wear materials like that... let alone a vehicle that's over 100k.
So you dont need any sway bar controllers/ bars to tow over a certain weight
Are tow mirrors an option?
i would think ram ones poss could swap to it.
Roman, I'm sorry sir but to say $107K is reasonable...you're so out of touch I'm not sure anything I say will make sense to you...respectfully

The only people that seem to be excited for the hurricane are the Wrangler people. We’ve been looking for something better than the 3.6 pentastar for years and the 392’s days are very limited. I just hope at least the standard output is an option in addition to the 2.0T version that’s already available
Have you guys done an Ike gauntlet test with the twin turbo motor?
The real story is how Roman turns on the air conditioner without 120V or a generator? Can you please tell us more about the Airstream’s AC, if this is the case?
there are a bunch of 12 volt ac's on the market now. can run off battery for a while depending on your battery capacity.... There are some 120 volt units that run off inverters and batteries but the 12volt system seems to be the ticket.
Ok. What the hell was the Nissan commercial? I pay for RUclips premium to not have that.
Whats the payload of this?
Can fit more and tow more with Yukon XL 8.1L. Just will spend 107k in fuel over a few years lol
no you cant. GW is CLass leading with 10k+towing
@Tomaz Reppa Hilton class leading? Is a 20 year old 8.1L 2500 SUV in its class? Who cares about 10k towing? I'm talking 12k+ towing. Check the Google again bc your fact check is fake news. Cargo and towing > for the 8.1L Yukon XL
@@poobank why are we mentioning 2500’s when this is based on 1500 chassis? Which is best in class.
@Tomaz Reppa Hilton bc the Yukon XL 8.1L is a 2500 chassis and I'm pointing that out in my comment to make sure you catch it
@@poobank get your facts straight, the XL is offered in both 1500 & 2500. “The Yukon XL 1500 is available in a new trim called the Denali Ultimate. The AT4 trim has been discontinued for 2023. Yukon XL 1500 trims have been upgraded with Panoramic Sunroof and Automated Parking as standard equipment this year. The Denali trim now comes with Smart Key as standard equipment.” “The Yukon XL is offered in half-ton or three-quarter ton capacities, and luxurious Denali models are available. The Yukon XL is a great choice for towing cars, boats, horses, and travel trailers. A Yukon XL 1500 is rated to tow up to 8200 pounds, while the heavy-duty 2500 version can tow up to 9700 pounds.” The Wagoneer defending on spec can tow more than the 1500 & 2500 XL. @ 10k lbs “Best-in-Class Maximum Towing Capacity up to 10,000 Pounds
Tow your recreation essentials to your destination with an available Best-in-Class Maximum Towing Capacity 1 of up to 10,000 pounds.”
Over 100000? Yikes. I'm glad it has so much room so people that buy these can live in them as well since its getting small house price range.
Where the heck can you buy a small house for 100k? Where I live you need $1M to live in a shoe box. I'm not joking.
I assume that includes the trailer?
Love u got an airstream! Want one so bad!
Way too expensive, it's gonna sit on the lot forever.
Roman, that Nissan money is hurting your credibility, and ruining the viewing experience for many if not all of your viewers. Take it down!
Fully agree with you, if that is the way TFL is going that’s me watching my vehicle content elsewhere.
There is no point at which a $100k+vehicle (consumable) seems reasonable. Full Stop.
Cadillac Escalade V ESV starts at $150k with nearly 700hp… it’s only .3 seconds quicker to 60 than the Wagoneer.
Great showing!! But pull up your pants bud!!We don't need to see the crack of dawn any time soon!! LOL!!
Stupid question - is the airstream so called because it is slippery? Does this really help with the freeway towing?
yes this is a 25' front bedroom mine is about 5600 lbs bout 6200 full tanks and bikes etc the hitch wt is 850 pounds that is part of the cars payload and the wife 4 kids 2 dogs so the max tow will be less lower trim levels tow more when you add 4 ent screens sunroofs etc add to the wt of the car lower the max gross vec weight
@@AustinsADV That's what I was thinking. It would be a good test on the gauntlet to have them run with the airstream as a control trailer, and then do the same with the toybox-of-the-week.
So who owns the airstream?
That gloss black center console is gonna show scratches and dust like crazy
My 2023 ram 1500 tows my 7500lb Jaco 26bch with panache.
A six is the 'smoothest engine' ?? Sounds like someone hasn't experienced a V12 or a Straight Eight. ;)
A Strait six is always the most smoothest of engines.
@@TomazHilton I say this as someone that owns straight sixes. ... a straight eight and a V12 is smoother, and a 1930's V16 is smoothest.
@@PiDsPagePrototypes talking about still in production lol
@@TomazHilton Where, in my original comment, did I limit to 'current production'???
I did not.
But, there are two V16's in current production, and no, I'm not going to hand feed you the links.
TFL needs an airstream for the Morton barn. Perfect match.
I'll take the 6.4 v8. Tried and true engine. Stronger build than the 5.7. Turbo 6 is fine without towing, turbo sucks gas under heavy load.
When are yall going to do a ike gauntlet trip with it?
that hurricane 3.0L engine is rated at 14 city / 20 highway MPG. My F150 can tow my wife's Subaru Outback and get better MPG. AND combined they cost less than the Grand Wagoner!!
edit: yes this is satire. Of course my truck doesn't get 20 MPG on the highway towing.......
Why am I getting commercials with RUclips Premium… is the Nissan commercial on the Video?
Damn a 2023 Expedition Limited Max w/ tow package is just over 70k. I know which way I'd go.
Why was there a Nissan ad imbedded in the video?
Let me get my head around this. For $107k you get an engine built by a guy who six months ago was wearing a serape and leading a burro.
Sure seems like a Jeep supported infomercial...
Me wishing I could just get a damn civic Si and this Bertha is out here up to 4x as much. No wonder people have old ass cars nobody has enough to cough 100k for these behemoths. Like damn
Welcome to America where not only do most young people dream of owning a home and yay now they get to dream about owning a new vehicle. I will never in my lifetime be able to pay that for a vehicle of that price mark.
@TFLnow what was the Grand Wagoneer's payload in this configuration?
The airstream tongue weight is just over1000 pounds
@@MrMsowers22 was taking a guess as most suggest 10% of trailer weight as an estimate for tongue weight.
Not guessing. I have an airstream. The tongue weight of that 25 foot trailer is 875 pounds empty. Head cargo propane etc. in my trailer comes in at 1080 pounds on the cat scales
Airstream should put air bags on. It would be great to raise if needed.
nice air stream
In what world does $107,000 seem a good price for a family vehicle when most familys don't make near 50k per year combined less if they do the adults are 9 times out of 10 working 90-95% of the time just to pay bills and then come home barely eat and pass out only to do it again the next day a 100k+ SUV is completely unreasonable
This thing is good used to save money. I'll wait 5 years when it's like 40k
What, no Ike Tunnel run?
That price means I could buy 2 new Tundras in 2020 in Ontario, CA.
More time with family, not sure that’s a good thing.
$107,000 = reasonable??
You have to remember Roman has expensive taste 😆
Maybe in a few years I’d buy a used one for~$20K....$107K for a glorified STationwagon is CRA-CRA!
This is now BMW territory of complexity and engineering, and I'd trust BMW 10 times over with their i6 turbos as they have exponentially more experience than Dodge.
Straight-six engines from yesteryear were tractor engines, they were bulletproof. Today's I6 has zero space between cylinders & sprayed-on liners. All to save weight, but likely at the cost of longevity. They can put out some Impressive numbers tho!
How the hell did they manage to embed a mid roll nissan ad directly into their video around the 50 second mark.
Sad to see it. Atleast I could skip over it, I guess
100k + wow 😮
Sorry Roman but just because you can get your family in there and tow 10,000 lbs, it does not make it seem more reasonable 😮
Shoutouts to all the rich people taking the financial beating on this in 2022 so i can buy it in 2032 for 15k and not feel bad about driving it to the beach every weekend.
Why can’t the 7.3 Godzilla produce more than 500 horsepower like the hurricane engine
Cam timing. Proper valve springs and cam have put them over 600 HP NA.
Wish it looked like the old Wagoneer.
I guess there are people buying these expensive vehicles. I don't know any but they must be out there or they wouldn't make them. Hard to believe
Holy 💩107k for a jeep🤯 that's double what I paid for my chevy 1500 truck. Man jeep lost their minds
Too expensive. Buy it off Lease and let someone else eat the purchase price.
The way inflation is going, this thing will be worth more than its MSRP at the end of the 3-year lease.
@@clearcut6818 possibly but with the Mexican engine it might not last that long towing 10Klbs.🤔
@@NorthernRetreat buy it and mall-crawl it.
I'd just buy an HD truck and tell the extra kids their riding in the airstream before I spend $107k on this.
Completely ridiculous price! This will ensure failure overall of the wagoner
Now that it has been on sale for awhile and the numbers are garbage they are $12k off on many lots... even at that, no one is buying which tells you reviewers are all scared to speak the truth of something being over priced crap...
10,000 lbs and 8 people, are you kidding.
Your insurance and warranty are thrown out the window.
Don’t try this yourself!!!!!!
Payload capacity is blown out of the water.
Buying a Wagoneer or a grand Wagoneer is like buying an apple product you are paying for the name. the price point will make them rare in the roads you will not see too many
My 3 bed, 2 bath 1600sq foot house was $190,000. $107,000 for a Joop?
No.
My family does not cost that much....
I hope it doesn't rust out in ten years for a hundred and seven thousand
Yea you better keep in the flat lands
Over 200k you working with a 100k SUV and That trailer bout 130k
