I purchased B&W 800 series for my mains. They are great for both, the soundstage is amazing. I put heaps of power through them, they are bi-amped with four mono blocks to give them the power they need to be amazing.
My system cant tell the difference between movies and music.. it's all sound. 😅
Yes, but your tastes may be different. I like super sterile neutral speakers with tight and accurate bass. For movies I want thunderous rumbly bass that isn't necessarily tight (like a ported SVS) and maybe a bit more bright and shouty highs. I have two different rooms for music, and theater with very different speakers.

I hundred percent agree. A good speaker is a good speaker regardless of whether you’re playing music or watching a movie, and, like you mentioned, movies are filled with music scores.

Different question for a different video, which speakers are viewed as "tolerable" for movies but not so much for those looking to do a high performance 2 channel room.
That’s the thing, I believe a well designed speaker sounds great for music and movies. Not everyone shares the same opinion.
My experience is speakers that sound wonderful in a strict 2 channel setup will also sound wonderful if used as part of a multichannel setup but that speakers i wouldn't want any part of for a 2 channel setup will sound less odious in a multichannel config. 🔊@@Youthman
only so called "audiophiles " get worked up about this sort of thing. my setup sounds good no matter what i throw at it as long as i have good source material. and i didnt have to re mortgage my home to get that result either.

They can, but, you start at a different place.
Most of a movie is in the center channel. There are a lot of garbage center channels. There are many very good speakers that don't have a decent/matching center channel. Most music listening doesn't need that speaker.
Wish Perlisten had the R7 equivalent of the S7c given what R5c off-axis looks like, but based on my frequency of movie watching, hard to justify even at the R price.
