INCREDIBLE review Shane! Thank you for sharing your quality content. The Dreamedia team can’t even describe the LOVE we have for Perlisten and would be thrilled to help customers in designing and building their very own DREAM home theater with these beautiful speakers! 😍🔊
I'd love to audition this setup, especially the exceptional subs. But I'm going to have to live with my internet direct black boxes a bit longer. 😅. Dual 15"s will have to do for now. Great review, Shane!
I wish you can have Monalith THX M2 15 for review & Monalith THX 16 ultra Monalith THX 13 ultra sound Demo if they can parform in a single digits. If you get a chance please I will be waiting.torry from east Africa Uganda
Shane this is your most accurate review in the 5 years I've subscribed to your channel. I've listened to the entire line up of Perlisten speakers twice, and completely agree with your observations and final assessment on the better value choice being the R5T. In my opinion Perlisten R series are the best HT speakers. Howeve, for two channel audiophile level music listening they're over priced compared to several competitors. Specially the S7T towers. Perlisten is all about delivering top level dynamic punch, good detail and decent midrange. Thank you Shane for simply being one of the most honest and quite accurate audio gear reviewers available to us. Continued growth and sucess to you sir.
Great review Shane! Based off your advice, I stuck with the GoldenEar SuperSat 60s with 2 of their SuperSubs for my living room and COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! I will go with Perlisten R7Ts and a NAD M33 for my 2 channel office/rehearsal/music space. (Performance of the NAD with the MANY connection options won the day over separates.) Keep up the awesome work!
@therealshanelee loved the review Shane! The review where just that good i bought the R5T ! I really love them holy smokes. As a novice Im wondering , why does most people go for monitors over floor standing for Home theater?
Awesome review Shane! I'm really thinking about picking up on of the R5C speakers to replace my Paradigm Prestige center. I just wish I could find somewhere to actually demo these things before dropping that kind of money.
Shane, Awesome review !! Helped me decide between S5m and R5t. Did you leave the R5ts ported or sealed when the subs were enabled? Also how big is your theatre room?
My "End game" setup is "T80 Asperion Theatrus" all around with a few Crown XLS and two "PSA double subwoofers" in place of my actual 11.2 setups. Should I change my mind and consider Perlisten? My room is mostly HT, but with long hours, so I need something not piercing my brain after two hours of listening.
@@therealshanelee if u had to put a number of it, what % is the arendal 1723 monitor s of the perlisten r series in terms of treble and midrange?. 85 %?.
The R series definitely looks better than the S series. That checkerboard pattern of the S looks cheap and cheesy, like something a middle-schooler would design. The R series still leaves something to be desired though as the drivers look scratched/damaged even though they're not.
I totally agree. I would have already bought the R5M had it not been for the defective looking woofers. Its hard to believe someone at perlisten signed off on the design.
I'm not keen on the look of them either, although I seem to remember an interview where they said that it wasn't done for aesthetic reasons but it actually had something to do with the construction process. No idea how accurate that is though.
@@Echo-jg8is OK... that's a separate discussion from what I was asking, and for another forum. But if you have that mentality, just stick with stereo and don't even bother with any surround sound. No worries; to each their own.
@@northeastcorals I know and I am curious to see if the design will change at all. But I don't plan on cutting holes in my ceiling any time soon and while maybe someday I can get something like the R4s for ceiling speakers, I notice they have ONE keyhole, so I was curious if Shane might come up with a way to safely ceiling-mount those speakers.
@@therealshanelee Thanks Shane. I'm thinking of getting 2x S5M, 1x S5C. I was wondering if I should use my 4x 1723 Surround or upgrade to 2x R4S and 2x R4B. Any advice?
That comment about the center channel differences was like a dagger in my wallet 😂. Guess I need to do a listen. I’ve only heard the r center, but those extra drivers on the S series, have my attention.
@@therealshanelee are the R series still your reference for home use or have you moved on to something else? I recently got a taste of the projector scene so my attention has been a little on that. Hard to go back to the 77oled when you’ve seen a “decent” +120 inch projection 😵💫

The Kaleidescape is the greatest increase in performance of a HT system. It will make a middling system sound like a high end system. I just added it to my system and wish I had done it first.
I went for the R series in walls after demoing them, they blew my intended speaker budget budget so there was just no way I was ever getting the S series 😆. Just need to get the room built now so i can actually enjoy them.
@@Dazaking719 these objectively are all amazing speakers. it's not just hype(though there is a lot of it). the bookshelf speakers can play up to 102db with virtually no compression(with just 1 speaker, obviously gets louder when you have a full HT). they have a literally perfect directivity index. horizontal and vertical dispersion is very controlled and precise. what did you have in mind for better sound quality/dollar? I know I'd love to see a line with Perlisten's technology that the more average income earner can afford(aka me).

Great review shane, could you please tell me does the R5T tower/R5C center speakers comes with the magnetic grills included in the box?
They do not.
@therealshanelee loved the review Shane! The review where just that good i bought the R5T ! I really love them holy smokes. As a novice Im wondering , why does most people go for monitors over floor standing for Home theater?
Easier to matchup with the surrounds and less floor space they take up. For two channel I've become a fan of floor standers.
Love this video what is your Room dimensions?

Ported.
Hi Shane, being you had the perlisten R5 speakers, how would the R5 compare to the RBH 821 sw/R and 821C sw/R speaker thanks Oz
Those are real specific speakers for on wall. If space is needed then I'd pick RBH. If I had space to spare then Perlisten.
Wish the a 4k disc of that movie would come out.
What a gem the atmos is in disney+, even for streaming.

They're different.
Hi shane, do you still using stewart studiotek100 or already changing your screen?

To each their own. I really like the checkerboard look, it's on point with current high end carbon fiber technology.
I have this exact setup but with D12S sub with an r212 on the way.
They don't look that bad in person. Although I do prefer the grills on. I think they look way better than checkerboard on the S.
Where did you find these at half price? They were full price when i clicked the link. Do i need a code?
I believe what Shane said is that they are half the price of the S series.
With this demo did u wish u were playing in a atmos set up or did the 5.1 set up had enough impact to have u focused on the film?
Atmos would have been better but the speakers are too heavy to have installed a temporary setup.
@therealshanelee If you end up using R4s speakers for Atmos heights, could you do a video on how to best (stably) mount them on the ceiling?
