I think what's funny is there are official karate turtle figures now. Albit in the classics figure mold and packaged with cobra kai characters.
They look like they're on a spa trip. A DEADLY spa trip.

To be fair, sai and nunchaku ARE more Okinawan weapons than ninja weapons...but that would make them Kobudo Turtles

Nah, I just found them later, I'll do a return to Karate Turtles to show them eventually. I'd really like to find one of the "talking" versions when I do that but we'll see if I can, heh.

I remember seeing these in a store back in the early '90s. I believe it was Fred's. And I'm almost entirely certain several of my classmates were fooled by them, or possibly their parents were attracted to the likely lower price point.

the toys were made before the show, the show was made to sell the toys rather than the toys being a byproduct of the show
How have you never seen the original Splinter toy before? Were you completely blitzed out on cocaine during the late '80s?
@@JanetStarChild The average age worldwide is 29.6 years, so the majority of humanity wasn't even around in the 80's. I personally only know Splinter from my cousin so I could easily have missed him despite my ancient age. I was too focused on Transformers, and missed the whole turtles thing until it was over.

I'm wondering if the Item number is used for internal cataloging within the Chinese prison system. I've heard they really put their prisoners to work, and it wouldnt surprise me if they didn't do some cheap toy bootlegging back int he 80s. I'm probably putting way too much thought into it.

It sucks and doesn't suck at the same time that buying the official loose figures are 5 to 15 bucks but loose bootleg figures are 140 bucks or something like that.

You can buy them everywhere in China for around 30 dollars (without box) and 55 dollars with packaging. I read that someone bought them and all his Turtles stands (grey thing where you can put them on) had Leonardo printed on them :(

You also have bootlegs of the Nickelodeon Figures. They are exact copies of the original ones but lower quality. You have some work to review :)
