Tesla Van Life - Camp Mode?

  • This is the reason why I don't use the Tesla Camp Mode.
    Teslas without ultrasonic (USS) sensors and relying solely on camera-based detection may require covering the internal camera when using this method. Though I haven't tried it myself, I have heard that even mosquitoes can trigger the alarm. Alternatively, you can use dog mode, as it now allows sentry mode to function alongside it.

    Agreed, there has been times I have considered taking a month or two off from work and just driving around Europe living out of my car, but the fact that you cannot run Campmode along with Sentry is a dealbreaker for me. I want to stay at a comfortable 19c AND be kept watch over, is that too much to ask?
    Glad to see it IS actually possible, but annoying how many steps it takes. Still, thanks for showing the world how to get the best of both worlds!

      @LivinginTesla  Год назад

      I haven’t tried to open it from the outside nor anyone else yet, but I’m assuming the following: Once the car times out (when the screen turns off itself), the car will assume no one is inside and it’ll be ready to be unlocked if phone is nearby. I don’t know how the BT proximity works in details, but I’m going to think that if BT is turned on and the phone is inside, it’s going to be close enough for others to open the door from the outside.
