One thing to keep in mind is that (usually) if you’re spending 30-40 minutes at a supercharger, you’re probably sticking around too long. The trick is that the lower your battery % is, the faster your car charges. We rarely charge beyond 50-60% at a supercharger because any % beyond that comes REALLY slowly. Instead, we shoot to have enough range to hit the next supercharger at 20% and then take off. There are definitely times where you gotta squeeze every ounce out of that charger, but those are usually pretty rare these days!
I've road triped in my tesla y many times- . Charging is never a problem. Orange county to Washington. To Oregon Utah. Vegas Arizona Texas many times northern California . Never a problem. Next one is florida
I'm glad is worked out for you! For us, the main issue has been when going to a place which is not close to a major highway or city, like camping or skiing. Thank you for sharing your experience!
Thanks for sharing your camping trip in a Tesla! I think some camping sites provide electric outlets including 220V so you could reserve a spot in advance and bring the correct power adapter for the plug. That way you can charge at night without worrying about running out of power or making a quick run to a Tesla Superstation.
I've lived in Arizona. I still drive an ICE car and its range on a tank of gas is less than 280 miles, so when I go on road trips I also have to pay attention to energy management including budgeting fuel to run heaters at night. So your comments about the "pain-in-the-ass" recharging suggest that you're as new to road tripping as you are to camping. You did fine, but the Tesla was no handicap. "Finding superchargers in the middle of nowhere" is something that the car's software does for you, right? If anything, a nice, quiet EV was good for the tranquility of your fellow campers and wildlife. It's good to know that a special mattress is available and that the headroom is good. That part was useful. Good luck.
Loved this video guys. Very informative. Me and my wife would love to do this, I just need a Tesla haha. Was shocked that you guys have so little subscribers, I’m glad this appeared in my recommendations. You guys really do deserve more! Wishing you the very best in your vlogging journeys and I will definitely be sticking around. If you’re ever in London, give me a shout!
Kat and Antonio I loved this video! Was searching model Y camping and you came up. You guys are fun and funny to watch together; liked and subbed. I’ll be binge watching your channel now. Please do share more. You guys are gonna grow this channel like crazy. Don’t change how you guys are and definitely Little by little it will snowball out of control. 💪💪👍👍
Thank you so much for the kind words!! It made us both smile! We will continue to make videos for sure, right now we are in Japan ,so a Japan series is starting in two weeks!! Thank you again for the encouragement, it really means a lot to us.🙏🏼
Honestly saying that it's annoying road-tripping with EV because if it gets cold you might need to turn up the heater and waste more battery is pretty incorrect. You can turn off the car and not use the heater - like any gasoline vehicle. You never use the heater overnight with ICE... So road-tripping with EV is actually pretty good - you get to turn on your heater. And running out of gas in the woods is the same as running out of battery. You still have to plan a fill-up.
I get frustrated when I see a video like this, because, while the content is entertaining, it is amplifying an uneducated opinion. The lack of planning for charging or how it works best, lack of understanding camp mode (can't be turned on if you are under 20% or in "yellow" battery), and, as you mentioned, saying that using battery for the heat is annoying while neglecting to acknowledge it's not even possible in an ICE vehicle is frustrating!
DO NOT BREATH INTO A SELF INFLATING MATTRESS. You are pumping moisture into the cell foam. NOT GOOD. Also, should have invested in a Exped MegaMat Mattress, very comfortable.
Please Subscribe, it makes our cats happy 😹😸🙀

You can take out the backseat bench, then it will be completly flat when you fold down the seatback.

I really enjoyed the video. Gave me an incentive to do the same in my MY. I am more worried about getting flats than the range.
Interesting video with some great humor 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
Krásné auto, krásná příroda a vy😘. A výborná práce s dronem👍 a sekerou😍.

What’s the name of the campground
Don't really remember the name but if you Google " Grand canyon campground" you'll find it.

Tesla model Y should have V2L ..
That was painful, I had to stop when I saw them put the bed in backwards and try to blow into a self Inflating mattress...
😂
AG1 is a rip off!! I tried it, it did nothing for me. It is loaded with empty promises Way over hyped.
There's a charge in the park
Thanks for the tip and for watching!
