    I am sorry but this method doesn’t work unless your Amazon speaker is connected to Wi-Fi or Internet. I do not have Wi-Fi in my home and I tried to do it via mobile hotspot on my phone but it does not work because the mobile hotspot will not show up on the list of Wi-Fi devices so I am unable to connect my Alexa to my hotspot in order to try these methods and since I don’t have Internet at my home it’s just doesn’t work. This is so much more difficult than it needs to be I wish that they could just come up with a way to connect Alexa to Bluetooth without the need to have an Internet connection! So frustrated right now………

    well i used my echo as a speaker once maybe a year ago, and when i try now, "an app is needed to use this device"... thats what it says on my phone when i attempt to pair with it via blutooth just to use it as a speaker. nothing can ever just work can it? -_- be great if anyone knows wtf is up with this. ive unpaired and paired again and no change.

    Hi Cam, I have connected iPhone to Alexa and both the phone and Alexa say they are connected to each other however absolutely no sound is coming through from my phone to Alexa even with a song from Spotify running. I’ve factory reset the Alexa and forgot device on iPhone and reinstalled both of them but although I’m told they are now connected I still hear no sound when playing a tune. Am I doing something wrong or is the Alexa broken? P.s my phone will connect wirelessly to my other Alexa device no problem with sound coming out of Alexa, thanks in advance I hope you can help

    If I do the pairing at home (where I have wifi), and then I take the Echo in my garage, where there’s no Wi-Fi and even no telephone signal (as it is underground)... Will I be able to stream music from my iPhone to the Echo there?

    I want to get a speaker so it can be used by both my PC (3.5mm jack) and my phone (Bluetooth) and be able to switch between them easily. Can this be done with any of the echos?

  • @lowbar77
    @lowbar77 3 года назад +1

    Ok, so I just picked up a pair of the 4th Gen Echos. I got them connected to my account and then paired to each other. It plays Spotify and Pandora fine, but when I switch to RUclips or Netflix, or my internal videos, it goes just to one single echo instead of the pair. Additionally, If I run an aux cable to one of the Echos, thinking that they are paired and it should play on both, I would be dreaming, because it doesn't. I am not sure why it has to be this complicated. Either it plays everything or not.
    One other suggestion, not criticizing, but you may want to duck (drop the volume) when say "Alexa" and just put the word on the screen, that way you don't trigger everyone's units while. yours is muted. Just a suggestion.
    Thanks.

    I've got an Echo dot as present, but this method simple does not work. When I turn on bluetooth on my phone (Samsung S10) and also connect the Echo dot, I can see the Echo dot in the list and when I tap it it goes to the Paired devices list. However, it is still not active, my phone does not play music through the Echo dot. When I click the Echo dot on the list on my phone, it says I need an app to use it. So I've dowlnloaded the alexa app, registered an account, and tried to add the device. I absolutely don't understand why I need an app and a registered account just to play music through bluetooth, it looks like it is some kind of amazon "feature". The app on my phone wanted me to turn on location (again, why?). It does not allow me to continue without it. So I've enabled location for it. The app actually sees my Echo dot device (bluetooth is still on), but when I choose the device, the app gives me error that there is no wifi. Why the hell do I need wifi to listen to music through bluetooth? I don't undrestand. I've repeated it like 5 times, same result every time. My Echo dot either have this orange light saying it is in setup mode, or have some blue light saying it needs wifi connection. I've tried the above method in both modes, no result. When I go back to the bluetooth device list on my phone, it still says I need an app. And yes, I tried to tell the Echo dot like a dozens time to "Alexa, bluetooth on" and "Alexa, pair", and absolutely nothing happened. I'm completely lost. bluetooth speaker that costs 1/4 of an echo dot can be paired to my phone in like 5 seconds. I've spent more than a hour trying to figure out how to use the wonderful Echo dot to music listening, and no luck. And yes, I've read a lot of articles, but they all say the same thing that in this video, but that simple does not work
    Does anyone have any idea what is wrong? I'm out of ideas.

    does this work with the echo flex?
    i mean know you can pair a bluetooth speaker to the flex but can you also use the echo flex as a bluetooth speaker?
    it's on sale right now for $10 and you get a free lifx smartbulb with it too so that is a really good deal
    especially if you can use it as a bluetooth receiver since it has a 3.5mm out jack

    Is there a way to use it as a Bluetooth speaker when not connected to the internet?

    • @johnnyr8603
      @johnnyr8603 2 года назад

      No there is not especially if you have iPhone forget it you won’t be able to do it. I don’t have Internet at my house so this video is basically useless because it requires your Alexa speaker to be connected to the Internet before you can even start this guy‘s methods. I tried using the hotspot on my phone but it doesn’t work because Alexa does not recognize a phones hotspot as a form of Wi-Fi.
