*I like the old style Echo Dot because it's small also **Newest.Technology**, gives out decent sound and doesn't take up a lot of shelf space if you want to put it on beam in the workshop or shed.*

The Echo devices from Amazon make life so much easier. It's powered by mediatek which I literally got to know recently

I cant get past the ‘preparing your echo’ part. The bar goes about a third of the way and wont progress. Driving me mad.

Why does my echo dot light ring continue to blink a pea green or yellow, hard to distinguish what color it is. I am not color blind. It responds to my requests but continues to blink all the time.
it might be notifications, mine does that too, just say “ Alexa any new notifications “

the Dot does a great job controlling devices. the Show is great if you are going to use it to watch videos. Try the new Echo Dot to start with. that's what i'm using, and it works great!!!! You're Welcome!!!!

My echo dot light ring continues to rotate a pale yellow ring, but mostly stays a violet color. And yes it is hard to distinguish what color it is. Is the Orange ring a true Orange? I keep getting "Not Orange? click on Action button" But it still won't connect. Never goes from Blue to Orange. Not sure I've ever seen Orange. As for:
"Go to your Wi-Fi settings on this computer and select the network of the format Amazon-XXX. It may take up to a minute to display. After connecting to Amazon-XXX, you can continue
setup."
A network called Amazon-UWG did appear but even that didn't get me connected. Says no connection. Shouldn't be this difficult. If I have a virus wouldn't the set up show an error or something.

The light does NOT mean it is charging, there is NO battery in the Dot, it needs to be connected to a power source at all times. Before you make a video make sure you know a little bit about what you are talking about.

Smart Network Switching on Samsung S7. Turn on both mobile data and wifi. Then Settings, wifi, menu-network switching can be turned off/on. Turn off and mobile data off. Then Alexa app will continue setup without the notice smart network switching on. Issue I was unaware as I do not use mobile data when connected to wifi
"Charging" implies there is battery power. There is no battery in the ED. When you plug it in, you are "powering". Bit pick detail but if people are bre to the ED they might get confused
After connecting to the AMAZON XXX wifi network my setup does not proceed ahead for me to setup a wifi hotspot..how to do that?

I am having no success getting Alexa to work. My problem is that I am gifting an extra Alexa that I have to a friend. I started a new account for her but it wont work. Feels like it only wants my account info. Is there any way to erase all the data and memory from the speaker so I can start fresh? Have spent hours trying everything and am at a loss as to what else to do. Thanks for any help.

What does the action button do? Great video, BTW
The action button works to turn off alarms, and it also helps with the reset feature by holding it down. If you hold it down over 5 seconds, it goes into a reset sequence which allows you to change wifi and other settings. I'll experiment with it more. If you press it, it will trigger the Alexa voice service without you saying the wake word, Alexa.

Once I got the orange ring on, I turned off my mobile data, connected to Amazon-xxx, and connect to my wifi. It worked that way. After, I turned my mobile data back on when everything was done.
ive signed into an amazon account already but i would like to change it to be under a different account,how do i do this
NOTE: if you are using iHome control on your Echo Dot I had a problem for a couple days that prevented me from using the home controller. It looks like that is fixed now. If you have heard of any more problems regarding this, please post a comment and let me know.
