Welcome to my first official Echo tutorial video! This video is to catch you up on all the features available on with an Amazon Echo. What feature do you want to see next?
The Zigbee Hub is there a way to turn it off ?? I already have a Show 10 and a Studio with hubs.. Using the Show 10 to control my Philip blubs, I am going to install more Philip blubs an I just got 2 Echo 4th gen, how do I control all 4 hubs in my system?? How do I tell which hub to control which blub.. Also how do you remove a device from a/the Echo hub if I would want to install the Philips hub.??
Thanks in advance, John
Does it connect to mobile hotspot as well. If you don’t have wifi ????
I was hoping you would talk about Echo Sidewalk. What are your thoughts on this?
Wwwwwwww xxqp Sussex xpxaqq

I very much appreciate you muting when you say "Alexa" so you don't wake up all of ours haha
Kind of a shame Alexa doesn't have a mic muting feature......wait.....IT DOES! Let your fingers do the walking. 😉
“Echo” can also be set as a wake word… Those poor souls🙏
@@wyattlauth1453 pretty sure "computer" is a wale up word, unsure as I have this one with a clock but only ever explored the wake up words with an old echo dot (I think 2nd gen?)
@@TurboNZL me 2
Me too
Just a cool feature you didn’t mention. If you tell Alexa that you’re going to get a snack during a movie, she’ll pause it until you say “I’m back”
Oh that is pretty neat!
saying pause is much easier but ok
@@bennaq788 it's literally the same thing except "pause" is bland
If you have smart lights alexa will turn on or off your lights as well as pausing or playing movies when you say you're getting a snack.
😂😂😂😂@@bennaq788
Holy smokes. I just wanted to see if it's worth to buy the echo and i watched the whole 1h video...
Top quality overview.
Buy it. You will feel just like a slave owner. You go!

Now that's the best in-depth detailed video I've seen in quite a while. I was about to do a smart home automation with Amazon Echos and this is exactly what I needed. Big thanks, man!
Absolutely the best unboxing video I’ve ever watched! Very accurately explained & you’ve managed to simplify even advanced features to be understandable & concise to both a beginner-as well as a techy! Thanks so much! Great work!
I bought one of these yesterday (to pair with the security camera system I purchased at the same time - both were heavily marked down), and this video helped immensely with understanding its functionality. For my first foray into smart-ifying my apartment, you have single-handedly broken down almost every question I had after unboxing and setting up this product. Thank you.
Easily the finest unpacking video I've ever seen! Very nicely stated, and you've managed to simplify even complicated features such that they're comprehensible and succinct to both a newbie and a techy! Thank you very much!
Oh,so literally everything
What else were you expecting?

Loved the Star Trek “beam me up”,laughed out loud, and I was on the head.
Your pace in explaining everything is most impressive. Thank you for taking the time.
I'm looking to get this as my first zigbee hub since I want to start using some zigbee based sensors, but as I've seen many times in my research not all zigbee devices and hubs are made equal.
Thank you for the in depth review of the functionality of the device.
Incredibly detailed overview video, great work.
I love Alexa. I have it set up all over and some times i see myself as a kid dreaming of having a computer like Star Trek and now here i am 50 years later and i have it. Thx for the video. You never stop learning from your videos.Keep up the good work.
Thank you for explaining the audio jack and how it functions. Now, from what I learned from you, I can play my smart phone with a line cord into the Echo providing I change the input/output status on the app. Thanks again!
this is so amazing, so much effort put into this video and really explicative. I have no words, THANK YOU
I REALLY like how you created an outline of this video in your description
with links for each topic. I know this takes more time but it makes your video
a much better reference. I'm going to look back through some of your previous
videos, now that I've seen that.

I agree with you. This Mediatek powered Echo device by Amazon has some really cool features to help the smart home owners.
I just bought this and i really wish they still printed a booklet with tech to show you what it does and how to do it
it does its where the charger is
Getting my 4th delivered tomorrow, this was helpful :)
Very professional and informational, thank you for the insight to all the different things we can do with the Gen 4, liked and subbed!
Wait, what... you're cutting me out from dropping in anytime?! Now who's going to wake you up every morning?
Haha! I didn't think you would notice. I'll add you back if you promise to sing sweet serenades to us for our morning alarm.

Very thorough, thank you! Owners of these devices don't realize exactly how much they can be used for. They really are a great wireless assistant. I only hope that future updates will allow US to choose exactly what "wake up" name we want to be saying all day every day because "Amazon, Echo, Alexa and Computer" get old fast and definitely are putting a dent in the "user friendly" and "user personalization" of owning these devices. Also, I would like to see the option of a Male voice and a Cartoon voice for children, I mean, come on Amazon, it is simple AI Coding. Again, thank you for this very educational video that should truly be provided by Amazon on their website for these devices.
They are not useful at all. Had them for years, they never do anything except stop your tv from hearing hallucinations. You always have a phone on you with voice assistants that can answer real questions like the chat gpt app.
Just received mines today (2 of them), paired in the kitchen as stereo. Setup was a breathe (Factory done, plug and play), just had to create a stereo pair, wich too was a breathe. Sound is really good, much more than I expected. I was planning to eventually add a Subwoofer, but I think for the kitchen it will not be needed. My previous setup was an Echo flex connected to Logitech Sub+speakers. This replaces them for the better ! The only mistery still on is that sometimes one seems to be listening (light on), but the other one is answering ! Well anyway all works like a charm :)
thankyou, squire
- probably the clearest, most useful online tutorial i've ever sat through.
appreciate your style and delivery.
a bit of a latecomer to such magikal smoke'n'mirrordom,

we've now got a santa's reindeerload of gizmos and setting 'em up
(maybe i should name 'em individually dasher / dancer / donner / blitzen...)
i really believe i have learned and understood what you just did
- now for the practical application thereof.

Great video, very complete. Thank you!
this is a very informative video, there's so many functionalities that we might not be informed of ! Amazon Echo (4th Gen) is one of the well-built models among the Amazon Echo range, inclusive of a very powerful processing unit driven by mediatek's technology enabling so many features
I'm so impressed with this. Thank you for this great video.
My mother is blind and disabled. I'm getting her into a nursing home and this would be great to play her music and to "drop in" to talk with our her having to touch anything or press buttons!
Wanted to know what the Echo could do regarding smart home and security. This video has answered all my questions, thank you.
You're a doll for muting every time you say 'Alexa'. Mine would've gone craaazy. Lol
I really like the features that Amazon offers with its mediatek powered Echo 4th Gen. A good addition in a smart home.
just got the charchoal one recently and i love it,so many things it can control. it can even call emergency for you if you can't get to a phone. so handy.
One of your most viewed videos. Key take sways: 1. Do more echo device videos. 2. Do full tutorial of each device. Great job!
I've never seen an ultimate guide as good as this one. Subscribed!
Thank you and I'm glad you found it helpful!
@@TechWithBrett Good Morning!
Just ordered three more Dots because of this video. Very helpful information.
Glad it was helpful!
Yes!!!! You are the only one who has shown me how to correctly troubleshoot connecting my Phillips hue bulbs!! For weeks I’ve been watching videos but yours did the trick. Thank you!!
I was ready to send my echo back, couldn’t set it up to WiFi, you mentioned the red button on top, I thought this was a power button, you set me straight, set up and activated, thanks so much, Ash
Very complete , you really made a major effort and it shows ,thanks for a great instructive video .
I really enjoy his videos
i recently bought an amazon echo 4th generation after watching this video, thankyou for the great video and information, keep making great videos! :)
Great video!
I loved the "beam me up", I so had to do it.
I just order the new 4th gen Echo yesterday.
Retiring my 1st gen with the Amazon trade-in program
I seriously learned so much from this video!
I'm glad it was helpful!
I know what I want for Christmas! This guy to come to my apartment and do all of this on my new device! ;^)
I just placed a Echo 4th gen in my cart and was not sure about buying it along with my fire TV stick. Your tutorial was great and going to place the order as soon as I can. Going to watch your Fire TV stick tutorial now. Thank you very much.
I just bought my very first one!!!! Yeyy thank you for all the information on how to set this all up😁 such a great video strait to the point and easy instructions from you. Thank you again!! I can wait to be a part of the smart home group of ppl😁😁😁😁
Love it! Now explain how this video played this long without any ads?
Maybe you have RUclips Premium? I do try to limit them but maybe you had ads on the last videos you watched.
He is a GOD. That's why
Amazon is low key paying RUclips to promote this! Hehe I’m just sayin since this vid *is* on amazon.
Great, thorough video! I do have a question. How many mics does this new Echo have compared to the Echo Plus?
It looks like the Echo Plus has 7 mics and the Echo 4th Gen has 6.
Excellent video. Very thorough, easy to understand instructions! Thank you!
Thank you Brett now am getting a product fully educated on how to maximize the potential. Truly better than reading a manual 👍🏿🙏🏿 good job and keep it up. BTW I subscribed to Joe's channel
Another great video. One correction though, the Echo Plus has the line in too, this speaker basically integrates the plus and the regular echo, from what I can see. Also, you are going to save me so much time with my sister....
Thanks for the correction! I just noticed the Echo Plus, Echo (3rd Gen) and Echo Studio all have the input as well. I am just behind the times with my older devices.
Boy... You really went into the whole Amazon thing here 😋
I don't know what it is, but something turns me off about the sphere design. Although you'd think that would be better as far as sound goes.
It's cool that it has the dual auxiliary port, but I really like that it has a temperature sensor built in now. I wasn't aware of that. And I could see it being really useful as you pointed out 👍
I wanted to catch everyone up on many of the features I have failed to show off so I decided this was a good time.
I got a twilight blue echo dot for Christmas (2020) yesterday I set it up but I still wanted to see how it works by watching the best tech guy on the planet I love u☺
Ive'd been using my echo dot 3 as a speaker when watching videos and doing projects in my small room. I think this upgrade will be a lot better audio wise. Can't wait
I'm using 2 new echo dots (with the clock) and 2 of the new echos for my home entertainment system and it sounds *great* ! It took me a long time to figure out how to put all the pieces together, but it was really worth it. Cheers!
Wow thanks Brett this was really amazingly interesting 👌 I just ordered a 4th gen ..Also it was nice not to any interruptions of adverts ..Well done 👏 first video 📹 😁👌💯
I also subscribed to your friend has i have a sumsung phone 😁
Thank you, you are going to love it!
Hi Brett! Im a spanish subscriptor, I like a lot your content. Id like to know what echosystem you like The more, Google or Amazon, and how you use them in your daily life. Also a sound review of this new echo and a comparison with the new nest Audio. Thanks
I'll see if I can put some type of comparison. I typically am using Google devices more since they integrate more with all the Google Products but after making this I realize how much Alexa can do. There are trade offs with each so I'll try and try and put something together about it.
I got mine for Christmas and some led light bulbs and I love it!
Thank You for a very informative video! I hope to have one of these devices for a Christmas gift this year.
I’m getting mine this friday
it’s funny because “echo” is my wake word for mine💀

Oh no
Tell me about fit had to switch to my AirPods to finish watching the video

I should find out how many use Echo and possibly mute this in the future.
I love the way you muted alexa so that your viewers' devices didn't set off every time you use the command
I ordered my Alexa a couple weeks ago and it's coming in next week in this video has really informed me of everything you can do with it.
I ordered mine on 11/30 & just got it today!
A most impressive tutorial. Have gen 3 & 4 Amazon dots. Getting more 4s now. Thanks.
Are you getting the 4 dots or the new echo 4th Gen?
I’m trying to figure out if I could just buy dots for my apartment and save some money :)
I would recommend getting at least one bigger Echo for a larger room. It has a more full sound. The Dots would be great for the other rooms.
With the zigbee feature included in the 4th gen, what does it mean by having a good connection ? What if my wifi is available without internet, will I be able to control my zigbee devices via alexa app or voice ?
i would be interested as well
What I want to know is if you have new echo 4 and zigbee device can you use echo 3 to controls the zigbee device. Or will I need to get echo 4 in every room
best video on this on youtube, great job and editing. thanks for sharing
Wow...see spot run! THANK YOU for making this video and helping make this so easy!!
I got the Twilight Blue Echo and Twilight Blue Echo Dot with a clock.
Good to know 👍🏾
Omg same bro twins mines coming Tuesday
Does the clock bother you or shine brightly at night?
@@bethany424 No. You can adjust the brightness of the Lcd clock in the Alexa App. You can make it very dim. I have mine on the brightest setting cause it's in my bathroom.
Can you pair those two together?
Wish they added a clock on this like the echo dot.
aren't you in luck. Cause they have one with a clock, he just didn't get it
Absolutely the best editing on a tutorial - it actually makes you believe Echo devices are functiomal - unless you already own one and know better. This goes for all the people that have caught themselves yelling at their devices to perfortm the most basic functions such as "play"or "pause" with no success.
Wow, a very comprehensive video, Brett. Yep, I stayed until the end except pause a couple of times to check things on my own devices as you discussed them. As I'm using a couple of LoRa devices now that operate in the 900 Mhz band, I'm going to interested to see if they'll work with Amazon's 900 Mhz "Sidewalk." For example, have a Lora motion sensor (takes its own hub right now) inside a steel mailbox at the road and it works fine telling me the mailbox has been opened. Amazon showed their own version of this sensor, but it isn't out yet. This could be a significant Smart Home feature or maybe a bust. We'll have to wait and see, but hopefully not too long.
Thanks for sticking around! I am really interested to see what its capabilities are.

This dude makes some killer videos!
Thank you!
Oh that's super cool with the open/close sensor. I might actually get that.
The videos of your that I have seen are very thorough. Keep up the good work Brett.
Getting 4 gen today . It would look even better if the whole ball glowed up
I really hope my grandma will like she. She use to love to read but no longer can, from what i understand she can read audio bokks woth this right? If i get two cpuld they communicate with eacherother??? Shes been falling alot recently and im terrified i wont hear here when im asleep, is there a way she could someone get in touch with me with this (or call 911) when im at work???? I havent got to watch the whole video and i have to sleep lol
Nice job dude! 😎 This was very educational video and the way you did it was awesome! I'm also tech guy but hey.. you saved me a lot of time! Thanks 👍
OMG !! I am so glad I found you!! I dont understand anything tech! U explain so clearly, thank you!
I love the you mute the word alexa in the video its the little things that count.
why'd he need to do that?
What I don’t get is that Amazon owns ring but ring and ring sensor work on z wave. Stupid they are all over the place.
Superb. A very well explained. Just ordered. Thank you.
Very informative, yes I watched the whole hour and ordered my Echo premium sound
Mine says playing rockstar ft Roddy rich radio I DONT BLOODY WANT THE RADIO
You have to link your Spotify account to the app. And you NEED premium for it to play the song you ask for
So cool. Can't wait to receive mine. Great video!
Thanks for posting the video! Super informative. One thing that I was still hoping to know about the product was regarding input voltage. I travel a lot between the US and Europe and I wanted to know if I can use it in Europe as well...in other words, is there an input voltage range 110 - 240 Volts, and can I use a simple adapter to plug it in.... or would I need a transformer?
Let's remember the over 65 age group, How can this smart home help us? Can it call 911 ? Best devices for seniors. Etc, Rx lists, Dr., apt, phone num. and so on.
Can you change her annoying voice? She sounds like my ex wife...
man I feel you lmao
You can change the voice to male sex (voice sound)
Wow im so convinced to get the Echo device, too bad a bought a hue hub last yr. this one is better. I subs to your channel, all the best.
Happy new year 🥳
This video was very very informative. Purchased one and will purchase another one next week for my grand children so they can contact me when then feel like it, LOL Awesome video thank you
Hey there! I really love you're video, a quick question, I my house I have multiple net works, routers from the main router, this is my question, does the Echo still controls the other echoes in other networks? Meaning, I have one in the kitchen and tell it to send a reminder to other network in the bedroom, does it work?
Very informative thank you for making this 👍, love the visual effects
I love how the light look like the Cylon
Thank you for such a detailed review!
Wow, very easy to subscribe to this channel. All the information i needed in 1 video? Incredible!
Everyone's buying VADs and I bought the echo recently. Works well and has a mediatek chip. I'm happy
I debated going with the echo but decided on the show 8 for 60 bucks. Echo sounds and looks great, hopefully the show is similar.
Outstanding video! Thank you!
so in depth... the only video i need to watch as a 1st time alexa user
Great video, Brett! Can you please suggest a smart button to control automations that works with Echo 4th Gen and Zigbee? I have an elderly client that wants to be able to press a button sometimes as opposed to yell across the room. I'm not seeing good choices for this elderly person.. I am trying to avoid a Smart Hub for budget reasons with this client. Thank you for your wonderful videos!
Amazing, straigh hit demonstration. helped me to set up echo so easy.
Brett I know I can trust you so have you ever made the routine with the temperature sensor in the bottom of any of the pluses or any of them work. I have never been able to get it to work. I've set the high and I've set the low limits. And nothing ever happened. But when using the zigbee sensors that comes with either SmartThings or another one that hooks up the fans and other items go on and off easily. So I just wanted to know if you'd ever got it to work! Once again you did a super video. And keep up the great work
