Hi, Craig. Great video, but I am still unable to pair ANY BlueTooth speaker to my new Echo Show 8. I have tried 3 different Bluetooth speakers...Aomis, MusiBaby, and Insmy...with no luck. I took the app off, and I reloaded it. I had Alexa verbally search. She always tells me there are no Bluetooth devices around. They are all blinking when she says it. All 3 speakers are found by my phone quickly and easily. I am going on hour 4 of frustration. Any tidbits you still have up your sleeve? Thanks!
To me that sounds like there is some kind of issue with that device. Are you able to connect another device such as a phone or tablet to the echo and use the echo as a speaker. Just to confirm that the Bluetooth is working in the actual echo. It is odd that it is not finding your speakers. That is not right. That would lead me to think a hardware issue
That is great that you have it hooked up to a bluetooth amp. That is a great idea to be able to have a stereo speaker setup. Thanks for sharing and checking out the video. Hope you are doing well.
Thanks Larry, It is a good song. I do not know how long it will pause for. I have not tried to pause it for any length of time. I have a feeling it is not for long. Alexa has a mind like an etch-a-sketch. She forgets easily.
Hi Craig. I'm having some trouble adding a 2nd Amazon Account to my Alexa Echo 3rd generation.. I have followed the directions to add another Amazon Accoumt, but when I go into settings, my settings don't give me an option to add another Amazon account. Could you please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thank you so much!!
Hi Craig. Many thanks for another very interesting video. I really hope you can help with my problem. I just bought the Echo show 8, specifically to watch RUclips videos while walking my treadmill. It opens RUclips, no problem. But I want it to show my subscriptions, so I can watch the latest videos from that list. Can this be done at all, and if so, how? Many thanks again.
I’m debating getting Sonos speakers with Alexa built in. Does it make to buy a simple and cheap Echo dot connect it and to the aux? So then as Echo hardware improves I can just replace the Dot. What functionality will I be losing?
I have not used any outdoor speakers with Alexa built in. I have only stuck with the echo devices themself. Here is one example from the brand ultimate ears that I have heard good things about. amzn.to/2yDOwxr You can also search for Alexa outdoor speakers to check out some of the other options. Thanks for watching.
Nice video, but I have an unusual problem. After pairing my echo with my phone there is no sound on either device when I play a song or RUclips on my phone. When disconnected, both have sound as expected...just not from the phone to the echo. I tried unpairing and re-pairing, but that did not help. Any ideas?
I sometimes connect to my Echo directly. Discovered the audio Jack can be switched to line-in for input by changing the Aux Audio setting in Alexa app.
It is pretty cool that you can use the Aux as an input and output. I always forget that it’s there. It is a great solution for a more permanent setup for a speaker or just plugging in something for music. Thanks for sharing and for watching this video.

From there you would choose set up audio system. if you have a fire tv cube or fire tv 4K you can pair one or a pair of speakers to be used as your speakers. (I have the Echo Spot do a 'shut off the alarm routine' that includes turning on room lights, telling me the days weather and then starting NPR.)
That is a good idea Larry to turn on the bluetooth speaker for the room you are in. I hadn’t thought about using it that way. It is a good way to keep the same thing playing as you switch rooms. Thanks for sharing this. Have a great day Larry.
I have a number of echo devices in my phone’s Bluetooth list, and it’s hard to know which one I want to connect to. I found on the echo device screen, at the bottom, there is an “about” entry, and the last three characters of the serial number line is the name that shows up in my phone’s Bluetooth list.

Craig, if the connection of the alexa echo with your wi-fi network is lost, they can continue to be used to listen to music, connecting via bluetooth with your Smart Device, right?... Can this be done with the Echo Dot Flex and the Echo Dot 3?
The echo becomes worthless without an internet connection. You can’t use it as a bluetooth speaker if it does not have power. It is quite annoying that you can’t use it as a bluetooth speaker.
Great vids Craig. Only just bought an Echo Studio and have subscribed to your channel. Thinking of getting the Echo Sub for my Studio. Is it worth it and can you play bluetooth through it?
Hello John, thank you for the nice comment and for subscribing. I am glad that you are enjoying the videos. I don’t know how much the sub will help. I know one user is loving his stereo pair of studios with a sub. He says the sub helps a lot. I know the sub will definitely give you more bass. It is a huge sub. I think if you are missing low end, the sub is a great addition. For me I didn’t need such a big sub or feel like the bass was missing too much for my use. I might lean towards a second studio to create a stereo pair. I have a feeling that if you use bluetooth with the studio it is not going to include the sub. Amazon has been bad about supporting one device at a time with bluetooth. It is quite annoying you can’t do a stereo pair with bluetooth. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
Hi Craig, can you connect the Alexa Echo to a bluetooth speaker and at the same time send music from your Smart Device to the Alexa Echo also via bluetooth?... Can this be done with the Echo Dot Flex and the Echo Dot 3?
No you can’t do that with any of the echos. Music is going to play on either your smart device or the echo. It is the same as if you connected it to a bluetooth speaker or earbuds. Only the device or the bluetooth will play. Thanks for watching.
When you stereo pair 2 Google nest mini and use Bluetooth they create like just one Bluetooth signal to pair with anything is there a way to do the same here with echos ?

Hi Craig, In my great room I have 2 Echo's and one sub woofer. Makes for a great stereo sound! I have Amazon unlimited music, so I am sitting on easy street. But now...here's my question. I remember a video you did a while back on hooking up your echo devices with amazon fire stick. It did not work and you got mad! Remember, i understand that was frustrating. Is there a way to hook up my firestick and play stereo T.V. through my trio of speakers...2 echos and one sub-woofer? Thanks for doing what you do....you're good at it.
Hello Doug that is right. that was a while back that it was frustrating when you would not do a stereo pair to a fire tv. I don’t know if you saw this video, but here is theater mode that allows you pair a single or a stereo pair of echos to a fire tv 4K or fire tv cube. ruclips.net/video/zL_vmLw1cwY/видео.html The nice part is you can also have the sub that you already have in the mix too. Theater mode is a great option if you have a supported fire tv 4K or cube. Thank you for the nice comment and the long time support. I hope this works for you.
Craig's Tech Talk hey Craig. Well I tried to hook up my stereo system. Unfortunately, my fire TV is not a 4K, so it quickly came to a grinding halt. Soon we will be getting a new TV and I will get a 4K stick… I bet it will work then. Thank you for your help.
I had so many stability issues connecting my echo show and echo dot to an external speaker and my Denon A/V receiver that I gave up. It works fine at first but they has a lot of audio dropouts. The two devices are no more than 10 ft. apart. I haven't tried in months. I'm wondering if this is a software or hardware issue.
That is a bummer. I would think it is hardware issue more than a software issue. It shouldn’t be an issue. Maybe it is a software issue and an update may have quietly fixed it. It might be worth trying again. If it still doesn’t work. The bluetooth in the receiver or echos just are not good enough.
There is something important to know about having echo devices connected via bluetooth. I had a fire hd8 tablet connected to a echo dot. Sometimes I use it for streaming cable programs or netflix. It seems that when your connected device awakens, the dot will announce (loudly) that it is connected to the device. This can be quite alarming/annoying late at night, while you are sleep. I have seen it happen when they use a trigger word on tv. I also believe there are some updates or notifications that occur on the tablet that will wake it and cause the dot to announce its connection. I initially opened a problem ticket with amazon to try to figure out what was happening, as I first noticed it while running show mode on the tablet. Once I determined what was happening, I asked it there was a way to disable the announcement. The answer was no there isn't. My solution is that I pair the tablet to a google mini. No longer a problem. I was reminded of this because after pairing the dot to my phone, when my phone went to sleep, the dot decided on its own to pair back up with the tablet, and I got that announcement again.
That is interesting. I have not tried that. I did not know that is a problem. That would be alarming and annoying. Thank you for sharing this. That is not good that they do not have a solution.
Could I use my echo as a speaker while simultaneously using another speaker to play the se audio, kind of like a multi room set up thing? Also, will you be making a video of how to connect echo to multiple speakers using alexa app?
No you can’t play on the echo speaker and a Bluetooth speaker at the same time. You can’t connect an echo to more than one Bluetooth speaker at a time either.
I paired my alexa to a Bluetooth speaker and for some reason I can not communicate to Alexa anymore when paired any idea I tell her to pair with the speaker and she does but if I try to tell her to play something she can't hear me
The Alexa Bluetooth will get disconnected to my Onkyo. It's not reliable. Even connected to a Logitech Bluetooth will eventually disconnect. I have to hardwire or use a secondary Alexa with wifi speaker to have reliable connection. I'm open to suggestions to get reliable Bluetooth connection to Alexa to my Onkyo.
Bluetooth works good most of the time, but Amazon needs a casting feature like Google or AirPlay like Apple. Playing anything on my phone that isn’t Spotify can be a pain to use when using my Echo Plus.
It would be great if they brought something as good as google and apple for casting. Amazons approach and the bluetooth is not as convenient. Thanks for watching the video. Have a great day Anthony.
The weather is what makes LA as nice as it is. I can’t live anywhere with real weather. Thanks for checking out the video and being at the livestreams yesterday.
Good point, since that wasn’t controlling the phone it self. I had not thought about that. Thanks for pointing out and for watching this video. Have a great day.
Craig is awesome but last few weeks...echo has freaked me out and im selling on ebay. Reason: The blue bar on the dot visually spins sometimes for updates or adding some voice commands to data or simply does something we noobs dont know much about. On the other hand, when i started talking about "money" it listened in and started to spin...i thought nothing of it until i talked about it again to the wife and it again started to spin and listen in on "financial" talk. I said to the wife lets talk about holidays, flights, and again talk about money but this time involve the government names. BAM! instant spin spin spin, play to wn....oh my guwwwwddddddd....kid you not, we both stared at each other than thats when i pulled out the echo and said good by to alexa.
Thank you very much. Wow, I would be selling mine too if it was that predictable about listening. I have not seen mine listening unless it thought I said the wake word. The only thing I have found freaky in my house is when my wife says she has received emails about things she is talking about. She isn’t registered on the echo account. But she leaves facebook open in the background on her iphone. I have not had any creepiness on my end. But if I did I would want them gone too. Thanks for sharing and for watching this video.
@@CraigsTechTalk Your awesome Craig! Thank you for your honesty and letting me know of another similar story. Facebook freaks me out in general >< so nothing new there, but to have emails talking about private conversations via facebook is indeed spooky. Thank you for letting me know about this. The bloody smart arse who thought it was a good idea to put Bluetooth a short wireless wire on 2.4ghz the same as WiFi made a mistake. I'd like to use BT but it makes my WiFi drop. I think its because the WiFi AP is in the same direction as a BT speaker I use. I'm going to move what I can to 5ghz at some point. BT was supposed to be short range but using a scanner on the fire 8 I can see "Kev's TV remote" and "Kev" lives way down the street :-0 I think all new houses if needed, should have a radio wave shield in any adjoining wall.
I hadn’t thought about that. I have not had that experience with WiFi drops. It makes sense what you are saying. That is an interesting idea to have radio wave shielding in new houses. Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts. Have a great day Karl.
@@CraigsTechTalk hi NP We have time to ponder the problems now :-) After tests, if you keep BT away from WiFi it helps So the phone for example should not push its WiFi and BT in the same direction (if your having problems) I was shocked to find after a quick scan 20+ WiFi ssid's on 2.4ghz in arms reach many with multiple AP's just wiping out 2.4ghz all on 100% power I guess 5ghz had one Keep up the good work Craig
This is all well and good, but using the echo as a Bluetooth speaker does me no good unless I can do it to a stereo pair. So far, Amazon is keeping this ability from us. I wonder why.
It is pretty annoying that you still can’t pair with bluetooth to a stereo pair. I have a feeling it is hardware limitations of the echos. Amazon does try to build them as cheap as possible. But, hopefully I am wrong and they bring it.

@@CraigsTechTalk Is there a way to externally sync your speakers up?
I paired my alexa to a Bluetooth speaker and for some reason I can not communicate to Alexa anymore when paired any idea I tell her to pair with the speaker and she does but if I try to tell her to play something she can't hear me
How come my echo dot says i am disconnected from Bluetooth i had my light my tv my phone connected now it say it can't find any of them.
Can i use the mic on the bluetooh speaker to wake alexa?
I have not been about too.
when i go to connect to bluetooth directly on my phone it says "a app is needed." but the question is what app?.
2yrs on...trying to connect phone to echo.
Worked perfect, why Alexa couldnt find it to start with🙄.
Can you connect a Echo to an Echo Clock AND a Bluetooth speaker?
The Alexa Bluetooth will get disconnected to my Onkyo. It's not reliable. Even connected to a Logitech Bluetooth will eventually disconnect. I have to hardwire or use a secondary Alexa with wifi speaker to have reliable connection. I'm open to suggestions to get reliable Bluetooth connection to Alexa to my Onkyo.
That’s for sharing. I don’t have anything that would offer a more reliable connection.
How will i know it will do that.
whoa, high of 90 degrees, so jealous here in michigan
The weather is what makes LA as nice as it is. I can’t live anywhere with real weather. Thanks for checking out the video and being at the livestreams yesterday.
You can control volume with voice command. You can say" Echo, volume 5." or " Echo, volume 3.".
Good point, since that wasn’t controlling the phone it self. I had not thought about that. Thanks for pointing out and for watching this video. Have a great day.
Watching this attached to my Alexa 🤣
Glad you are able to put this to use. Thanks for watching.
And best thing is to change password on facebook, and delete any memorised data on your iphone when using facebook. Its like a permanent fingerprint...
BT was supposed to be short range but using a scanner on the fire 8 I can see "Kev's TV remote" and "Kev" lives way down the street :-0
I think all new houses if needed, should have a radio wave shield in any adjoining wall.
I hadn’t thought about that. I have not had that experience with WiFi drops. It makes sense what you are saying. That is an interesting idea to have radio wave shielding in new houses. Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts. Have a great day Karl.
@@CraigsTechTalk hi NP
We have time to ponder the problems now :-)
After tests, if you keep BT away from WiFi it helps
So the phone for example should not push its WiFi and BT in the same direction (if your having problems)
I was shocked to find after a quick scan 20+ WiFi ssid's on 2.4ghz in arms reach many with multiple AP's just wiping out 2.4ghz all on 100% power I guess
5ghz had one
Keep up the good work Craig
What is your take on the Bose portable home speaker with Alexa built in? Does it do everything that any echo device does?
Doesn't work on my lg tv ....
Thanks for not saying Alexa and the video!
Anyone Noticed he looks like Elon musk 😂
This is all well and good, but using the echo as a Bluetooth speaker does me no good unless I can do it to a stereo pair. So far, Amazon is keeping this ability from us. I wonder why.
It is pretty annoying that you still can’t pair with bluetooth to a stereo pair. I have a feeling it is hardware limitations of the echos. Amazon does try to build them as cheap as possible. But, hopefully I am wrong and they bring it.
You can use it for calls for free
