We all love Simon, that's no doubt. But it's so fun to see Paul getting more comfortable with being in the vlog for every video he's in. Kid's got a bright future.
I think the sound is mostly coming from his 'shoes' here. If you want to hear a pure disc ripping sound go check Simon's video at Faylor Lake or the CrushBoy Chronicles Mic'd up practice at Jonesboro.
I want him to find the discs that work for him. Remember that he’s been playing with Dave Dunnipace (Innova/Discmania) designed discs for every year but some of the last.
and imagine how expensive a full bag of mvp is like $400 plus tax and a $200 bag plus simon is very handsome and he makes throwing look good! like a dancer
The atom is a great overlooked throwing putter. Super straight and the pilots are awesome too. And I have been throwing the defy for years super cool disc
Glad to see the Tesla in the bag! The Tesla and the Insanity have been staples in my bag ever since I tried out some gyro discs. Still crazy to me how much you can turn over your Volt. Edit:The Proxy and Envy probably feel similar to you because it’s the same flight plate just a different over mold to change the stability.
Proxy>Envy. I've been trying to love a tesla for a long time. In the end, the volt and insanity(plasma or eclipse), took its spot. Thanks for the vid, its fun to see someone throw discs that I bag, only throw them properly. My options are typically limited by bag size and inventory... 20+yrs of 'playing' here. Maybe in another 60yrs, I'll be half decent. Tbf, my only disc for the first few yrs in the 90's, was a whippet. Nowadays, the choices are amazing and endless...
I only saw you throw your Envy a couple of times and they both looked like pretty good shots. The last time you threw it, you parked it. I'm an Envy/Proxy guy. I throw a Prism Plasma Envy (Plasma flight plate with Prism rim) for a lot of upshots, and I putt with the Proxy for almost every unobstructed putt from C2 and in. Sometimes I use the Envy if there's a headwind. My biggest challenge with the Envy is getting it to land flat and stick, so I've gone to jump putting with the proxy for anything 100' and in, if I'm worried about a roll away. I'd love to see you throw the Mayhem. It's my most trusted driver. I'm topping out around 350 and every now and then, touching 400', but I bet you'd crush one over 600'. Like so many other gyronauts, I can't really describe how ecstatic it feels to have your favorite player throw the same discs you throw, so I'll just say a very heartfelt and sincere THANK YOU!
I've seen all of your videos, since going MVP. Your learning these discs at a crazy rate. Sometimes it' s going to feel like a grind, but when you start winning. DAMN it's going to feel good.
Again thank you for showing me how my discs should be thrown. Never been so excited to throw my discs. Been waiting for MVP to get love for awhile. My son is like him. Kid has been playing since June and is an absolute monster.
BTW, if you aren't clicking with the Envy but want an overstable putter, I highly recommend trying out the Streamline Stablilizer, it's my favourite overstable throwing putter both for BH and FH.
YESS YES YES! 14.5 Speed discs, Trace, Tesla are the discs I wanted him to try SO BAD. I love the Trace. Their 14.5 speed discs are really interesting and huge bombers. He should try all of them to find some he likes and can rely on. And the Tesla is a great stable/over stable fairway driver. Keep trying them discs. Oh BTW Simon, the Trace is a great forehand disc to. Ask the queen forehander herself, Sarah Hokom.
Love seeing the process of trying new discs and the progress you're making with them, but it's really good to hear you're taking more off-camera time to get into that more competitive mindset! This last season i got a friend into disc golf and he wanted to do field work with me, even that put a little pressure on me and really made those session more fun than useful for me. Very excited to see you play this tour, no matter how it turns out! (I didn't know I needed a pink foil Lizottl so badly!)
Thanks for all the videos Simon. Totally understand you need a break and I think it's honestly the best decision. You need time off camera to get that practice and dial it in for the quickly approaching season. No doubt you'll be good to go when the time comes. Glad you're enjoying the Tesla and I think you're right by saying it's a faster Servo. Those 2 discs could do you wonders. Glad you're liking a lot of your other discs as well like the Defy and of course the Hex. Hopefully the Beam or some Simon custom distance driver comes out soon for you that you can love and rely on. Thanks for being you and looking forward to the next update in a week or two.
I'm watching for my 2nd time because of how stoked I am seeing you bag a tesla and a trace. My first 2 aces ever were with those 2 discs, 4 days apart, on 12 29 22 and 1 1 2023. Cosmic neutron trace first off a big ice skip, and fission tesla se for the 2nd straight to chains. I have 2 teslas and 1 trace bagged, and both are absolute staples for me. Seeing you rip both is definitely a fulfilling thing to see, as I have watched you in self-improvement efforts. Thanks for your content, sir.
The proton Tesla at 3:47 was one of my first Discs ever. I have a first machine mold collection that I may never throw again and a full new 17 variant collection of new gen Tesla's. I've been an MVP Fanatic since day 1 and seeing them grow has been amazing. Can't wait for this season.
I enjoyed the Florida trip Iowa is really cold & lots of snow right now . Have a good time & relax while you learn your new bag . I think you're right about the pressure of content & editing ect. Got to take a bit& just let the flow happen. You got this .
So excited to watch you next season Simon! You’re so genuine and talented, have a good break with the new bag and family! You got lots of golf left to play!
Defy was the first real disc I used! It flies similar to my Star Wraiths. I had no business throwing an 11 speed as a newbie but it didn’t stop me from enjoying the 70’ spike hyzers I was throwing off the fairway. I recently retired it and brought it to DGLO for autographs.
Thanks for these first few videos post announcement. We'll be here when you're done with your short break. Get prepped. Take whatever time you need. Go, Simon!
Your putting is ALMOST there! You've improved so much since the first video. Great to see you getting the hang of the new discs. Can't wait for the new season. Can't wait for that Lizotte Glitch. Also shout out to Paul, that kid is a beast. Excited for what his future holds in the sport.
Love watching all your content Simon. You are a true inspiration and I hope to meet you someday! I’m building a course on my home property in Maine and of course you are always welcome
Great video, I have had an absolute blast watching you learn new discs and I don’t think it’ll ever get old! Great job paul with the camera work and the great shots. Keep it up and enjoy the productive break!
Putting looks really smooth! Can’t wait to see how good it looks after the next few weeks of training. Enjoy the break from the craziness of content creation! Hope you continue to enjoy the process!!
Hei Simon! If you don't like the Envy, you might love the Streamline Stabilizer. And when you do, please persuade MVP to release it in Proton plastic! Best wishes from Norway, Lutz
I ain't thrown a disc since 2012, my bag is still just like it was. I'm amazed at all the plastic nowadays. They really look good, a big difference in appearance. Maybe you could help. I'm wondering how much difference in distance, from my old bag, to the ones yall are tossing. I always remember throwing new disc when I first started, I couldn't get any distance. Then one day playing by myself, I found a old beat up disc, no name, but when I finally tossed it one day, it went 50ft further than anything I've ever tossed. It was then, I started looking for what fit my game. And would buy guys used disc, instead of new. That's first disc I ever had flip up and ride. Then come back. I was hooked, beat my old best score by 6 strokes within a week. I started passing my locals overnight. In old days we wanted flippy. Now u guys, got so much torque, yall can flip up anything. Putting over cars, was my biggest best practice way. It built so much touch, and nose up on all putts
Hi, Simon I have few disc suggest for you. I used to play with envy sometime ago but atom in proton plastic kinda took that spot for me. Its kinda between proxy and envy and shares same core so it’s kinda same hand feel. Its doesnt fade as much as envy but as a new has more hispeedstability and it hits it’s prime after many tree hits 😉. Also dont lose hope on photon, try it in plasma plastic. Plasma in general will be more flippier and also for some reason seems to have more glide.
The tesla was the disc that truly got me into disc golf in 2019. As someone who only threw forehand at the time, it was incredible the lines you could throw with it. Now as someone who has become mostly backhand dominant, the same few teslas I had back then still find their way back in my bag almost constantly.
Hey Simon! It's so fun watching you go through this transition. Thanks for sharing it with us all. As a beginner, it helps to know even the pros are out there grinding and learning every day. It helps keep me motivated! Cheers :)
As someone who is new to disc golf (within the last year)…don’t know much about many of the disc golf pros but Simon just seems like the most genuine and real dude. Never would guess my man got a life changing payday recently…
Appreciate you sharing your life with the DG community. It's awesome seeing you working your way through all the MVP disc options to build your bag. I understand your getting sick of having a camera in your face but we would still love to see all your growth with this new adventure atleast while you build your bag and continue finding better options for your shots. Maybe dont worry about making awesome content and just ignore the camera and throw discs (someone can edit what disc was thrown and screen shot it in later). "pretend its not there." We just love watching you buddy. Also I strongly recommend switching to a proton pyro and a cosmic neutron crave. Inertia is way better than tesla. Also would love to see you throw a wave, catalyst and relativity. You need to get your hands on some old fission photons and domey proton relativities. They BOMB!!! Finally, it is awesome seeing someone else forehand a putt!!!
Coming on well. Going to be an interesting time. Photon and Volt are my goto MVP drivers. I can't imagine my bag without-- they're my only purple and magenta discs. But bag is those two, a Discraft XL in FLX (discontinued, so last one), and mess of Buzzes (in FLX and Z) and Challengers (only in Z).
amazing content you have given and we are just waiting in excitement for the season to start also :) but damn that kid crushes and seems consistent! he is gonna be big in 2024!
The Pilot and the Nomad are definately worth a shot for throwing and maybe even putting. Pilot is very straight and the artwork is awesome. I think it's also available in a lot of plastics, the Eclipse is great for throwing.
I don’t think he HAS to putt with Gyro, but I imagine it was like James where they just asked if he would use a full Gyro bag. Also, instead of a Pilot, the Ohm is identical just with an overmold.
Good camera work by both of you. I agree with the good decision to ‘regular practice’ for a bit. Getting there but still lots to learn. Appreciate the look ins you give us.
Not that I'm a good putter but I've been using an Anode for putting since they released. They are very neutral and any slight over or under can change the flight.
Simon, we all love you and love your content. Thank you for bringing us along with you as you are learning these discs. These videos are opening my eyes to some new discs, definitely excited about getting my Lizotle. Good luck this year brother
About the envy, I think you would like the flight characteristics of the electron firm the best. Not sure how you feel about the plastic feel, but the electron just hold whatever line you put them on with very slight fade at the end that disappears as it beats in.
Simon’s boyish enthusiasm from Paul’s offer of a Big Mac for sinking the putt at 19:29 is proof that Simon is still the same guy we know and love even after signing this huge deal. ✌️❤
Simon do yourself a favor with the envys. Go into a field and throw them full power with each plastic. I mean rip on them. That’s where they shine. Until you beat in a neutron soft/hard one you really don’t throw them with touch too often. Now once they beat in they are amazing touch shot and turnover discs.
Simon, You should try a GLOW PROXIE. I also love the Proxie, I get decent turn with my soft electron (and it feels so good in the hand), but the glow is dead straight with fade for me. Which, takes the place of the envy as I have yet to find one that feels good and is overstable enough to make a difference. Hopefully this helps. Much love, FTF
I just added a soft neutron envy and a trace to my bag. Absolutely love the envy as my circle 2 and beyond putter. Gonna have to return my trace though. It might just be mine, but it doesn't flip up and fly 500ft 😂.
Hey Simon, love your videos. Playing while making videos is different cause you split your focus. I'm really looking forward to an update video after you had some 'alone time' with your knew discs. Also, would love to see you throw an Insanity, although it might just be a roller disc for you. LG Vom alten Kontinent
Really enjoy seeing the progression with the new bag, testing new discs, plastics etc. Also the candid talk about which discs you gravitate toward so far.
It's awesome seeing the Proxy get some love on your channel. It's my favorite putter in the MVP lineup. I putt with it in Medium Electron and bag a Neutron one as a thrower/approach disc.
Wait on that 500 ft downhill hole at 15:02, I remember Simon throwing a mindbender and a sky god at it, almost acing that in his vlogs from this summer, in this one he throws the Tesla which looks like a stable fairway to me but idk about mvp disc flight numbers. It's just interesting to see him park it with discmania mids(and a putter) and now outside circle 2 with the Tesla. I was impressed hearing the distance stated of this hole and I had to comment about this.
Tesla is definitely one of my favorites, I use it over the Volt because it feels better in the hand (though you seem to be killing it with the Volt too). Would like to see you try out the Entropy (like a Zone) and a Zenith (like a Photon, but a bit less stable).
Love that you are trying the defy! I have had one for about 2.5 years in the proton plastic. Took me a little while to get used to as a slower arm player. Kept having to do a double take because my Defy's the same color (body and rim) as your original Crave!
Im excited for you all the time Simon! I hope you get some more faces/colors stamped on some of those discs. Always feels like you're breaking out the extra magic when I see you throw a special dye/stamp.
It's my opinion the Envy is a great overstable throwing putter, much more torque resistant and overstable in the eclipse plastic than I think what Simon is expecting. The throw early in the video fought out quickly. An electron Envy or beat in Eclipse/Neutron Envy is what I think he is expecting in flight. All new discs creates a slightly skewed outlook on how things are flying, especially when pros are used to carrying the same discs for months to years. It'll settle in once he gets more experience and more beat in discs.
If the Envy isn't doing it for you, I recommend the Proton Atom. I had similar issues with the Envy and went with the Atom instead. Absolutely loving it!
I too have forgotten shoes and played a round in my slippers. The torrential downpour for 10 minutes mid round ensured the mud will never come out of the slipper fabric. My biggest surprise was no one noticed I was playing in slippers.
I love how excited Simon got when he realized he had a chance at a free Big Mac
Same - the look on his face 😂😂😂
Just about nailed it too ...
He's either very food-motivated or very American now.
Simon drinking behind camera: confirmed.
"Didn't want it enough" lol
We all love Simon, that's no doubt. But it's so fun to see Paul getting more comfortable with being in the vlog for every video he's in. Kid's got a bright future.
Talked with him a little before a tournament last year, super nice kid, definitely excited to see what he does this season!
Solid camera work and commentary
Right? He seems like a great kid.
I would love to see a practice round where you and James have a discussion regarding the discs you've tried and are bagging.
That would be an awesome video!
Great idea!
I think James is down in Texas this off season. Good weather to get practice in, most of the time.
Get Sarah Hokom involved as well so they can chat Streamline!
I didn’t know that that is exactly what I want to see until I read this comment.
I hope we see more of Paul on the vlog. Kid's got a great attitude and a game to match. Plus him n Simon seem to mesh well. Really fun to watch
Absolutely love hearing the sound coming off the discs just after they leave your hand.
I had to back it up and turn the volume up to hear what you were talking about. Oh wow!
FFFFWWWWUUUUUUHHHHHHH
I think the sound is mostly coming from his 'shoes' here. If you want to hear a pure disc ripping sound go check Simon's video at Faylor Lake or the CrushBoy Chronicles Mic'd up practice at Jonesboro.
Sounded like a jet plane taking off! ✈
The sheer sound of the discs coming off simons hand is so cool
Waiting for new Simon episode to drop like it was an HBO series
Seriously.
I thought earlier today about whether he was slinging panics yet and checked the channel....and here we are
Same.
Same
Simon needs his own series🤣
Why do I feel so invested in Simon’s bag build?
Same
Because we’re all mesmerized by the shiny new discs being made nowadays
I feel invested, but just pure interest, not to help me with my choices. What he is able to do with a disc is so far past what I can do.
I want him to find the discs that work for him. Remember that he’s been playing with Dave Dunnipace (Innova/Discmania) designed discs for every year but some of the last.
and imagine how expensive a full bag of mvp is
like $400 plus tax
and a $200 bag
plus simon is very handsome and he makes throwing look good! like a dancer
Simon generally being excited with the possiboility of winning a Big Mac on that putt. Love it.
The atom is a great overlooked throwing putter. Super straight and the pilots are awesome too. And I have been throwing the defy for years super cool disc
Watching you throw the volt is amazing because I use mine for fairway stable-overstable disc but you turn it over so easy.
I feel this
I was thinking the same thing ... my volt never turned like that.
@@jaimeperry7326 Yeah I also can't barely get any snap out of my disc's, Simon has a lot of spin for the speed he releases the disc.
Watching Simon's videos is like therapy. So enjoyable! Thank you for the content!
Tesla was the first MVP disc I ever threw. And, I swear by it. It's by far my favorite disc!!
Im so hoping he finds the insanity…so we can get a simon custom one! First disc i ever threw and now have way too many in my collection
Proxy definitely feels a smidge deeper to me, just enough to notice.
A well deserved break Simon! Can't wait to see what to see you shred this season!
The jerk in me wants him to keep throwing on camera. The Human in me completely understand. Good thing it isn't up to me to decide.
Simon side arming the third putt and saying of course is so classic for disc golf
Proxy>Envy. I've been trying to love a tesla for a long time. In the end, the volt and insanity(plasma or eclipse), took its spot. Paul is looking great from these videos! Excited to see him in the local tourneys!
Paul’s consistency to laser things dead straight is astonishing. He also has the power of the pros. Simon is showing us the Pro tour future.
Congrats you are awarded 🎁🤍lucky fan .,
I've seen all of your videos, since going MVP. Your learning these discs at a crazy rate. Sometimes it' s going to feel like a grind, but when you start winning. DAMN it's going to feel good.
Sitting here watching this video just waiting for my lizzote hex and now wanting the beyond envy. Those are some sweet looking discs
It's so crazy how the discs sound when you guys throw them. It's really satisfying.

I was always a 14/15 speed basher, but it’s pretty cool to see Simon enjoying one of them!
(5:40) "And then we have silver and colorful" trying everything he can to make MVP discs cool. I'm a fan!
If you need a Tilt replacement then go with super overstable Energy. It's 13-speed. It's one of my go to utility discs.
I'm watching for my 2nd time because of how stoked I am seeing you bag a tesla and a trace. My first 2 aces ever were with those 2 discs, 4 days apart, on 12 29 22 and 1 1 2023. Good video. Paul did an excellent job and was well spoken. I hope you team up with him for videos in the future.

Simon I love watching your videos. Your so down to earth
I have that same exact tesla and I got my first skip ace with it. Absolutely love that disc.
Simon thanks for taking the time on us… we are hyped for you. Good to see you communicating and managing our expectations of content.
Defy is one of the most underrated discs out there. Hope Simon can give it the good reputation it deserves.
I enjoyed the Florida trip Iowa is really cold & lots of snow right now . Have a good time & relax while you learn your new bag . I think you're right about the pressure of content & editing ect. Got to take a bit& just let the flow happen. You got this .

Pulling for you Paul to get that tour card! Bright future ahead of you young man!
It is fun watching someone of this caliber relearn a bag
Love watching all your content Simon. You are a true inspiration and I hope to meet you someday! I’m building a course on my home property in Maine and of course you are always welcome
Loved seeing you throw the same shot with all your discs on second hole!
I like it when you have Paul on there. He’s pretty chill, and a good golfer.
Hei Simon! If you don't like the Envy, you might love the Streamline Stabilizer. And when you do, please persuade MVP to release it in Proton plastic! Best wishes from Norway, Lutz
Tesla is one of my favorite discs, was shocked that you didn’t like it at first

Did the elevated basket make you throw nose up? lol
You are the Man Simon, your videos are the best, don't stop.
I had a CD2 that I liked, but then I lost it and picked up a Tesla to replace it. It was perfect for me. I'm glad you're on board too.
Hi, Simon
I have few disc suggest for you. I used to play with envy sometime ago but atom in proton plastic kinda took that spot for me. The sound his discs make when he throws them is awesome! I wish I had that arm speed!
Love seeing the Trace get some love... It's such an underrated disc.
Great video. Good luck with the "serious practice".
Hey Simon! It's so fun watching you go through this transition. Thanks for sharing it with us all. As a beginner, it helps to know even the pros are out there grinding and learning every day. It helps keep me motivated! Cheers :)

It's cool to see him realize he can afford to run away from the cold weather and just fly where ever he wants. F-you money is a thing.
Yeah, look how excited he was for a free Big Mac!

I think part of his agreement is he has to putt with Gyro but the Nomad is great! I use it for outside circle putts sometimes
I don’t think he HAS to putt with Gyro, but I imagine it was like James where they just asked if he would use a full Gyro bag. Also, instead of a Pilot, the Ohm is identical just with an overmold.
@@paulelmore9642 Yeah, would be cool to see them actually run the Ohm in putter plastic ...
The Trace is a hyzer flip machine, glad to see him throwing it!
Congrats you are awarded 🎁🤍lucky fan ...
About the envy, I think you would like the flight characteristics of the electron firm the best. Not sure how you feel about the plastic feel, but the electron just hold whatever line you put them on with very slight fade at the end that disappears as it beats in.
Wow, the sound that is made when Simon was throwing those drives on #2. If only I could get that much power!
Congrats you are awarded 🎁 Lucky fan
Simon’s boyish enthusiasm from Paul’s offer of a Big Mac for sinking the putt at 19:29 is proof that Simon is still the same guy we know and love even after signing this huge deal. ✌️❤
Congrats you are awarded 🎁 Lucky fan ..
it's just beginning, Simon. You are such an awesome ambassador for the sport. Stay humble.
Simon do yourself a favor with the envys. Go into a field and throw them full power with each plastic. I mean rip on them. That’s where they shine. Until you beat in a neutron soft/hard one you really don’t throw them with touch too often. Now once they beat in they are amazing touch shot and turnover discs.
reaction of the big mac vs the flight was hilarious! Cant wait for this 2023 season to start!!!!
Simon,
You should try a GLOW PROXIE.
Damn Paul Krans is so good, super fun to watch
Hey Simon,
love your videos.
Playing while making videos is different cause you split your focus.
I'm really looking forward to an update video after you had some 'alone time' with your knew discs.
Also, would love to see you throw an Insanity, although it might just be a roller disc for you.

Really enjoy seeing the progression with the new bag, testing new discs, plastics etc.
Also the candid talk about which discs you gravitate toward so far.
Also, The ion and spin are great putting putters
It's awesome seeing the Proxy get some love on your channel. It's my favorite putter in the MVP lineup. I putt with it in Medium Electron and bag a Neutron one as a thrower/approach disc.
Loved the sound of the disc when Simon throws. Sounds like a tiny fighter jet taking off from a carrier.
Keep Paul on your videos, dude is crazy fun to watch and listen to
If anyone hasn’t watched the new Jomez series with Simon, I highly suggest you do so! ❤
A break from RUclips sounds like a great idea! Cant wait to watch you once the season starts! Good luck with the practice!
Wait on that 500 ft downhill hole at 15:02, I remember Simon throwing a mindbender and a sky god at it, almost acing that in his vlogs from this summer, in this one he throws the Tesla which looks like a stable fairway to me but idk about mvp disc flight numbers. It's just interesting to see him park it with discmania mids(and a putter)
and now outside circle 2 with the Tesla.
Congrats you are awarded 🎁🤍lucky fan ....,
This is the most fun I’ve had on RUclips in quite a while. Having said that, do what you gotta do, Si-Guy. We love you
Im excited for you all the time Simon!
I'll keep an eye out for Paul, very skilled and likable.
If the Envy isn't doing it for you, I recommend the Proton Atom. I had similar issues with the Envy and went with the Atom instead. Absolutely loving it!
Remember to try out the pilot from streamline. I love that disc, perfect throwing putter!!
I too have forgotten shoes and played a round in my slippers. The torrential downpour for 10 minutes mid round ensured the mud will never come out of the slipper fabric. My biggest surprise was no one noticed I was playing in slippers.
