This happened to me once when I was a truck driver. I'm glad I had a cam too because I put that whole family in the hospital for 12 days. The ignorant mother who was driving was almost killed. They sued but, I won.
Magpul 32 I think the more relevant term is "glad" You are "glad" you had it on camera. "Proud" makes it sound like you hit a home run. What you hit here was a "whole family." hahaha
I've made a large truck come to a complete stop (Safely mind you) after he was turning on the inside lane and I was on the outside one in which he just came straight across. Almost took out a sign on the road avoiding this idiot. However when I did talk to him through the window he seemed remorseful for what he had done.
+PrimeWeekle People do it to get the semi to hit them and equals out to big fat paycheck from trucking companies. Now and days with so much of that shit going on, a lot of drivers/companies are using dashcams to stop the shenanigans, but, people still try to do it.......if they live through it
I'm thinking here, the only reason why you didn't keep on going was to avoid damaging your truck! I understand that! My suggestion would be, get an older truck!
That's just part of the reason he didn't hit him. IDK if you have the same bullshit rules Down Under as we do in the US but the paperwork is always a PITA, then the wheels ain't turning so not making money while filling out that paperwork and up here even if we get rear ended we have to take a damn piss test and then the downtime to get the repairs done means no income cause those wheels ain't turning so NOT hitting anyone is always a money losing experience! Then a law suit on a truck is always a money maker for the idiot 4 inchers! It's only a few seconds off of our clock so not worth the fight to be first! Blue Sky's and Safe Journeys!
Frantic storm, your name sums up my dog, when someone comes to the door. I occasionally call her 666, she was called Staurm after my second dog, from the seventies. I heard my son's talking and they agreed the name suited her. I hope you don't live up to your name all the time. I wouldn't have backed off the that toyota, but I think that I'm a bit like my dog.
Or a new truck, but weld a lot of rusty iron on the front nearside (that might be dangerous) so you could attach a chunk of rubber from a truck tire. Every morning smear it with a mixture of paint, cow dung, poo, vomit and a bit of road kill.
When you're a truck driver everything is your fault and responsibility, damaging your truck could potentially mean thousands of dollars lost. -an actual truck driver
Moves in front of the truck and slows right down, as if thats not bad enough he waits for the truck to change lanes and then forces his way in a very unsafe gap in front of him again, what a prick. And their are idiots here defending the hilux??
+Metallirocks I understand truck drivers are on a schedule, but I think I would've just continued on when he decided to split the lane like that. Honking, yes, but not slowing. Then again, I'd probably want to get paid and move on.
+Ferruzzicati Well lets be honest, the fast lane on the right was free, the truck wasn't in that lane until the end of the video, so you can hardly accuse the truck driver of holding up the Hilux, he overtook him quite freely to start with and then goes in front for no apparent reason, slows down, the obvious thing to do if you are the dash cam driver (regardless of what vehicle you drive) is to go right and speed up, but as can clearly be seen in the video ...... wth was the Hilux doing??
+Ferruzzicati Well regardless of what lane whoever was meant to be in - he caused the truck to brake for no apparent reason and then dangerously cut him off, you can argue all you want about what lane the truck "should have been in" but the fact of the matter is and this is the whole point of the video - it was dangerous (and stupid) driving on the part of the Hilux. I will say no more.
+Ferruzzicati Semis go to the middle lane to keep the passing lane open and to not prevent merging cars from entering the highway. The passing lane was open for the Hilux, but after passing he gets in front of the semi and slows down. The semi is overtaking vehicles to the left of him and being overtaken on the right, so his actions are completely legal and correct. Once the Hilux overtakes the semi, he slows down and does not overtake the vehicles to his left, which is illegal, especially when the lane ahead of you is completely clear of other traffic. I'd love for you to point out exactly where the semi flashes his lights at the Hilux as you claim. The semi then attempts to pass and the Hilux decides to try and prevent it. Putting an indicator on does not give one the right to move over, and he did not put his on until he was already moving over. The fact that he didn't return to the lane he was in while the semi was on his horn shows that his intention was not to just get into the passing lane but rather to attempt to prevent the semi from overtaking a slower vehicle. The only dicks here are the Hilux and those attempting to defend his dangerous, psychotic actions.
It's absolutely amazing how these idiots manage to keep their licenses with the way some of these idiots drive their cars. I'm a truck driver here in the US and I'll do everything possible to keep from hitting them when they do something stupid and I get the middle finger as they drive off. Most of these people still don't realize that most of us have dash cameras for our protection and use in court.
+Themeparkfanatic I think people assume truck drivers are generally mean trolls who like to recklessly tailgate and intimidate people in little sedans. Indeed, I keep an eye on my mirror whenever I see a big truck closing in quickly behind me. But of course that assumption is not always true, and the guy in the smaller car may end up being in the wrong when the guy in the big scary truck was just trying to be nice.
+Harol Kaemerer actually no. Not semi trucks all the time but occasionally I've actually seen a few negligent semi truck drivers. Just mostly pickup truck drivers I seem to have the most trouble with in terms of tailgating. Annoys me when I see them coming close up my rear
+Themeparkfanatic The best thing to do is go to court and tell them to show the video at the end. Catches them in a lie under oath, then for the most part no one will believe anything after that that they say.
+tutyfruty200 yeah that sucks. Typical of the U.S. as well unfortunately. It's like if something bad doesn't happen, nothing gets done. There is another video on RUclips of the same exact thing, accept the truck doesn't slow down, he just keeps going and ends up pushing the car a few hundred feet down the road before stopping! LOL!!
Bravo, I think you handled it very well! I congratulate you for your coolness, self-control and foresight! You saved yourself and the other driver a lot of trouble! You can be proud of yourself and keep a conscience for avoiding an accident with unforseen results.
The instinct is to maintain speed and teach him a lesson when he refuses to yield and strikes the semi. But a cop would say, "Why didn't you slow down and yield to him? Just to prove a point? I'm citing you for reckless endangerment." And the officer would be completely within his discretion to issue such a citation Denting an ego is a small price to pay for not causing a death.
+Tony Stark, contrary to what most people appear to think, trucks break too. Most highway transport truckers like their trucks looking clean. The last thing they're going to want to do is intentionally damage the bodywork, so as to spend thousands fixing it again.
+airwick4u An attempt to inject humor, sure, but the fact is, it's a WORK truck, and nobody wants a truck rendered out of service because it is not generating revenue if it's in the shop.
I personally enjoy when people get in front of me and slow down. It's hilarious. They want to go fast. And now to bother someone else they aren't going fast. They are literally stopping themselves from doing what they want to do. Morons... but then the part where he cut you off... that was criminally insane.
You moved to lane 3 way too early when you weren’t overtaking. That obviously annoyed the Hilux. You then exacerbated the situation by going to war with the Hilux in lane 4. Poor driving by both parties.
I wonder why no one has attatched a loudspeaker system on the outside of their cab yet. Just imagine how fast someone would stop break checking if they heard 'attention dumbass you are on camera.'
+Sinky if it would have been in russia the Hilux driver would have thrown an empty vodka bottle on the truck while signaling left and slicing hard to the right obviously those accidents we see in russia are caused by reckless behavior but i dare to say mainly cause of bad unsafe roads and really bad weather and the combination of any 2 of them is deadly
Why merge across two lanes when joining and not stay left? Are lane rules in Australia same as UK? Stop calling lanes slow, fast, middle, overtaking etc - lane 1, lane 2, lane 3 etc! All lanes are for overtaking, all lanes have same speed limit!
No. On multi-lane roads under 80Km/h any vehicle can use any lane. The absence of the "keep left unless overtaking" signs are a cue to drivers that you may select any lane - typically because the road splits a little further up and such. On a multi-lane highway, where speeds are above 80, or are signposted with the "keep left/overtaking" sign, any vehicle shall stay to the left of the road, unless overtaking a slower vehicle. No exceptions - the Police bust 100's of drivers a day on this law alone. Mr Skateboarder - You can download a copy of the Unified Road Rules. I'd suggest you do that if you live in Australia - You clearly are oblivious to the basics.
Keep left, unless OVERTAKING. These are signs that are everywhere, in Australia. What bewilders me is how people think they're invisible and taking on 22 odd tonnes when you're 2 at the most. Idiots that buy 4wd's as runabouts in suburbia when they'd never even go bush, should be shot.
You are automatically at fault in a court of law if you rear end someone because you did not keep the appropriate stopping distance with the car in front of you! No excuses!
+eL CHiVaTo I bet so. It doesn't matter if the Hilux merged in front of the semi, then slowed down.. the semi should have never got that close to the hilux. If this was one of my drivers, I would fire him. This was very unsafe driving on both parties, especially the semi driver, because it's his responsibility no matter how dumb or irrational the other driver is, It would have been the semi's fault if an accident had occurred.
+Marc Hershey . hmm even i though when the semi got so close - okay- so he can brake in that short distance given that the driver in front is playing chicken
astroboy979 the hilux driver is at fault anyway you cannot control that, the semi should not add to it- so if you were in the semi- you can control the situation from worsening
+astroboy979 You don't get to control how other people drive. The only thing you can do is not make the situation worse by following too closely. If the Hilux driver wanted to drive slowly, let him. If he wanted to change lanes, let him. If he wanted to sit on the highway for a bit, let him. In the end, I doubt that the Hilux driver drastically increased the truck driver's route time because he probably had to get somewhere fairly quickly. If the truck driver caused an accident by following too closely then likely people would have gotten badly injured, but almost everyone behind would have had their route times drastically increased just to prove a point. The road is not a place to take out your aggressions, and it isn't a place to dictate what other drivers do with their own vehicles. If you want to dictate what they do, become a policeman, judge or whatever else you want. As a truck driver, your only job is to get your product to its destination safely and in a reasonably adequate time frame.
I'd have kept going when he tried to cut me off. He's beside you, which means you can accelerate past him. But then I have little patience for crap like that.
It's not about "deserving" it, it's about your safety mate. We are not trying to kill you car drivers, but through lack of knowing, most car drivers are try to kill themselves it seems.
This video is exactly the reason why I could never be a truck driver; I would lose my license the first time someone tried that by bulldozing my way right through their car. Kudos to keeping it professional.
i used to be scared of big trucks on highways like that, but then i realized that the drivers are professionals and it their job to drive big rigs , they know what they are doing, not like some people who go from a small hatch to a big ute or 4x4 and think they are king of the road.
I'm a UK Class1 Truck driver firstly, before being criticised "I don't know what I'm talking about" And yes we see Assholes on the road all day long like this, there is No excuse for the idiot in the red Toyota Hilux playing cat and mouse with a Heavy goods vehicle !! But that said, Don't Truck drivers in OZ know anything about "Lane Discipline" ? You guy's in OZ drive on the same side as the UK, we keep to the right hand side unless overtaking. We don't "HOG" all the other lanes, we leave that to the "Car driver" as we accept half of them got their licences in Corn Flake packets !! First rule of thumb when joining a highway dual carriage way etc, is to keep to the nearside lane, unless there is a slower vehicle or otherwise advised by Police or Highways. Not as this video clearly shows, the Truck driver pulls straight across 2 lanes and is sitting there for some time, when clearly the inside lanes are clear of traffic !! The trucks seem to be using any old lane, Most of the truck drivers in the UK class our profession, as "Professional Drivers" nothing I've seen here in this video convinces me of that, and looks to be a snipet of total mayhem. I need to make one thing clear here, I'm in No way backing the Arsehole in the Hilux, cause driving like that ends up in one place "The Morturary" But I seriously can't say the driver of the Truck was without fault either ! Education for both parties, but the Truck driver should know better.
That Toyota driver; I'm reasonably sure if you were able to pace him, he'd give up or risk having his truck destroyed. Hopefully, you notified your highway patrol/state police agency and, showed them the video.
It could be that the driver really had no idea what he was doing. Though it is all very coincidental. Braking for nothing and exactly shifting lanes when the truck tries to overtake. Strange indeed.
The guy in the red Hilux went a bit too far, but I think maybe he was cut off a little when the truck indicated across two lanes without a 5 second pause. I could be wrong. I've seen much worse from people on Aussie roads.
No rear facing camera to see what you did to him when you unnecessarily made your way out from the slip road into the middle lane and overtook fresh air for a mile.
Dear sir/madam, On behalf of all us Toyota truck/suv owners, I apologize for this POS. Im sure we all believe that POS should not represent us Toyota owners and should be stripped of this Taco ownership. Sincerely, A '14 4Runner owner
It's not DO they think it will but rather what's the consequences of doing so? No trucker wants to run over a car because he knows people can EASILY die and will nine times out of ten try to avoid an accident. Kudos to this trucker for not letting his rage get the best of him.
No that is not true , here in the Netherlands the cars are way more respectable to each other , and we have common sence and we are not stupid by taking idiotic actions , most that do are foreingn travellers and some locals , but they know they lose their license and our police don't play with death drivers..they see you as a murderer and so they will treat you , russiia BIG MAFFIA Land and police drive old cars and cannot even stop or control the roads..very very sad..I wish PUTIN would do something about that , cause many good Russians and my friends suffer from that bad behaviour of some RUSSIAN ROAD GANGSTERS Stupid ass people - I have spoken ..thank you ,.
My husband is a retired truck driver. He pulled off the side of the highway and was building up his speed when a pickup came up behind him. Since it was a 2 lane highway and hilly the truck couldn't get around. Now the pickup wasn't in sight when my husband pulled out just that the truck the company had were geared down. Anyway the pickup managed to get around my husband then got on the CB to harass my husband. Pickup driver slowed down so my husband lost the speed he built up for the hills and the guy said he was going to slam on his brakes so the 18 wheeler could hit him. My husband told him to go ahead but who did he think would really win that fight?? Pickup driver must have finally gained an ounce of sense and got on out of the way.
i feel your pain mate, the stuff i see each day doing the run to Port Kembla never caeses to amazme me. I have now started sharing some of my vision with the boys and girls from Wollongomg LAC.
if theres no one in it, and thats where you want to be, then why not? also, dual left exit lanes up ahead so it traffic banks up it shouldnt impact the two right lanes. its not illegal in any way. neither is undertaking here - so theres still two (or three) lanes to go around them if you really wanted to. so why shouldnt they do it if its safe to do so?
+Private Custard I've driven my rig in the third lane or fast lane just for the fucks but that was only when I had the night shift and usually around the wee hours of the morning there was no traffic on the road I mean no one for miles. I'd be bored and alone driving on the empty road for miles so I'd drive the fast lane just cause, sometimes yell out the window or blow the truck horn to stay awake. XD but when there's traffic and such I let the 4 wheelers have their lane just don't fuck around in my lane. Like my dad says, "Lead, follow, or get the fuck out of the way"
The truck driver's mistake: Merging lane and then continues to change lane. That's one of my pet peeves. I think he must have forced the Hilux to suddenly slow down because the truck driver kept merging and switching to next lane without pause.
I don't know if the rules are the same in Aus, but in the UK, a lorry pulling straight out into lane 3 for no reason with no intention of overtaking anything would be considered poor driving. The lane chop in front of you was obviously just stupidity though.
ZSW 337, hope that reg number is on another car now. (hint:driver beaten up and car destroyed). Slowing a semi down before an uphill should be considered illegal.
Poor lane choice - what's wrong with the inside lane? But - the Hilux was changing lanes, not you. I'd have held your ground and let him hit you. His fault.
The Hilux driver shows no road awareness or just simply does not care about other road users, i have suffered from the same type of deluded halfwit here in the UK.
I have a legit curious question. Let's say that you do submit the video to police. What does police do? What can they do? Ticket the driver after tracking the license number ?
In Canada if this video were given to police, the Hilux owner would likely be charged with carless driving, driving without due consideration or something along those lines. Possibly anti road rage laws come into play. Had there been a collision and this video shown to insurance, the Hilux would likely be deemed at fault.
So the cops had no problem with you failing to give sufficient indication of a lane change, failing to keep left, and failing to maintain a safe following distance? Cool story bro.
As a trucker I am forced to pass people on their right ALL THE TIME because morons never finished drivers ed. We are banned from the left lanes in my state so middle and right are the only choices and everyone thinks the middle is the slow lane. If it was me driving I would NOT have activated my breaks. He made a lane change with no signal and was driving slower than the traffic to his right. Had he hit the truck it clearly would have been counted as his fault for failure to yield and distracted driving since he could have only made such a dumb move if he wasn't looking..... unless he admits he did it deliberately.
skateboard341 AND IT WAS AN ILLEGAL MERGE! EVER HEARD OF GIVE WAY TO THE RIGHT? You can't just slam the indicator on and turn in! It's ILLEGAL to do so. If the truck driver slammed him, it would be the Hilux's fault.
Roy Adams I'm guessing you are American. In Australia we drive on the left, and the right hand lane is the fast lane. Passing on the right in the video was a completely normal thing to do.
There are two idiots here. First Hilux was wrong to impede progess of traffic, but once he had demonstrated agression it was no surprise to see him demonstrate stupidity at 1.34 and again block the truck. At 1.35 truck should have been off the throttle. Blowing the horn doesn't help either. It inflames, not improves a situation. The truck backed off to avoid a collision so nothing was gained for the truck in the end. If a collision had occurred both drivers would have shared blame.
Arthur Wood I know the graphics are pretty good in GTA5, but you DO know that this hilux clip is not from that, right? You may have been watching GTA5 clips before, but you've wandered into the dash cam section of youtube. even though its not a russian road.
people who try and do this to trucks do it because they know it takes a period of time for the truck to slow down giving them time to get rear ended but then the truck shows the video of them slowing down with a huuuuuuuuuuge gap infront and they dont get to claim no insurance
Hilux indicated and moved in in front of truck. He kept up with the car on the left and did not brake. The truck failed to keep a safe distance but creep up dangerously close to the Hilux. >This is considered tailgating. You intimidated the Hilux by tailgating him. Props for reporting yourself to the police. Truck then changed lane to pass the Hilux and other traffic in the middle lane (are lorries allowed to pass on the right lanes? not sure about AUS) Hilux cuts in front of truck indicating very late. Truck beeped aggressively. Hilux continued to complete changing lane forcing truck to slow down. >The beeping can be considered aggressive and dangerous, truck horn can startle car drivers especially in such proximity which could creates an unpredictable situation. Hilux late indication is a driver mistake, could not be interpreted as intentional but truck aggressive beeping is definitely intentional (should've just done a short beep and slow down.) Hilux is an idiot for not slowing down but you're not so smart to try to push the Hilux back. Title is very misleading. I was expecting some intentional aggressive behaviour from the Hilux but all I see is he did one mistake (late indication without observation) unintentionally while the truck had 2 intentional faults (tailgating and aggressive driving pushing Hilux at the end)
He needs the chart. Pedestrian loses to car, car loses to truck, truck loses to cargo van, cargo van lose to rig, rig loses to train, train loses to plane and plane loses to mountain. It should be on every drivers test. LOL
To me it looks like he thinks you done something to him, possibly when you were merging onto the motorway. At the midpoint of the video, as he overtakes you, he slows you down to a crawl on purpose and as you later move out to the right, he blocks you. So, rightly or wrongly, he probably thinks you had done something to him first.
"Nice, slow merging into traffic". That comment immediately raises a red flag with me. Slow is not synonymous with correct, safe nor legal. At that point the comment is displayed in the video, the flow of traffic is clearly faster than the truck. So the question begs, why did the truck change lanes after merging and what was the happening out of view of that camera. Now that red Hilux's actions appear to be deliberate. He pulls in front and slows down quite substantially well before he cuts the truck driver off. When he tries to cut the truck off, he holds his ground and forces his way in. Both seemingly stupid deliberate actions. But the simple fact is, while it may happen in an extreme minority of cases, generally people don't screw with others on the road for no reason, they do it because they feel (accurately or not) somebody has done something to them through malice or negligence. I think it's likely the truck has done something to the Hilux earlier. Probably while the truck was "slow merging" into faster traffic and then moving across another lane for no good reason he cut off the Hilux. Of course, this in no way excuses the Hilux drivers actions, one stupid dangerous situation does not condone another stupid dangerous situation. If somebody cuts you off, flash lights, blast horns, but don't go endangering people's safety to prove a point. Of course, this also applies to the truck drivers actions, when the Hilux was coming across, blasting the horn was a correct action, keeping the foot on the throttle and trying to go up the right hand side of the Hilux just made the whole thing more dangerous. I would suggest there is a very good reason the police did nothing. The truck driver probably went to the police who then made it clear that his actions were just as reckless as the Hulix drivers and if it went further, both would be charged and he decided to walk away.
Typical hilux driver. I would have stood my ground, if he had hit you he would've been in the wrong and you could've got a paid holiday after claiming loss of wages whilst your truck was getting fixed. I'm so sick of dealing with these bullies.
That was tailgating on the truckers part no way around it you should have 3-4 seconds at this speed check clip 1:07 he barely had 1. The red truck was at fault for cutting him off without a doubt because their was a truck in that line of traffic, that is clear. My congrats to the trucker for keeping his cool and backing off. That is why I blackbox my truck as well. Now it could be argued that the helix with the snorkel, slowed down to fast for the truck to safely come to a stop fast enough to prevent tailgating. There was clearly no reason for the helix to slow down like this except maybe a small case of road rage is my guess.
Tailgating and preventing someone from entering your lane while they are signalling illustrates the lack of patience and road decorum that invites contempt from law-abiding drivers out there.
just because someone has their turn signal on doesn't automatically mean that they can turn or merge. they still have to look where they're going and make sure there's room. in this case, there wasn't, but the asshole kept coming in.
Aaron Zulu The truck had already changed lanes and was in the process of overtaking the ute, which then forced its way in front.. Open your eyes and you will see that.
Jeff H I hear ya... both parties were at fault of submitting to retaliatory behavior, and both parties committed citeable offenses (at least by American road standards). But the truck filming initiated it by tailgaiting and attempting to pass on the right and treating a heavy vehicle which probably requires special licensing to operate as if it were a smaller personal vehicle. KnowhatImean?
We agree to disagree. Do you call being brake tested tailgating? It was not an attempt to change lanes, it was a successful lane change and the Red car knew exactly what he was doing. If there had been a collision the law would be on the trucks side. 1/ Road Rage (brake testing) 2/ Changing lanes without caution. Heavy vehicles can overtake in the RH lane here.
Is there a speed limit for large trucks in Australia, UK and USA on highways? In germany they have a speed limit of 80-90 Km/h, which is about 50-55 mph.
I drive trucks for a living,,, and everyday I'm in the slow lane doing the speed limit,,, you always get the cars that speed up to get in front of you only to go slow and try to piss you off
As a British driver common safety sense should prevail. When the red vehicle pulled into your lane you should have eased off of your accelerator to increase the gap, especially since the road was wet. When the red vehicle pulled into your lane, although annoying and obviously wrong, again, you should have reduced your speed. This was very dangerous and I am surprised at this. Receive 100 lines and a two hour detention.
Aww that must suck in your position at that moment. Was he trying to get in your lane or something? It was not quick enough when he wants to merge into your lane. Keep the honking coming because its there for a reason! Your videos made my moods and days! LoL
This happened to me once when I was a truck driver. I'm glad I had a cam too because I put that whole family in the hospital for 12 days. The ignorant mother who was driving was almost killed. They sued but, I won.
Magpul 32 "I put that whole family in the hospital for 12 days."
hahaha You almost sound proud. Almost...
Chris Fuentes I'm proud I had it on cam, or other wise I might be in a bad position right now.
Magpul 32 I think the more relevant term is "glad" You are "glad" you had it on camera.
"Proud" makes it sound like you hit a home run. What you hit here was a "whole family." hahaha
I don't know about you, but proud I would be.
fangzea I just found it a little humorous, the wording. Not trying to take anything away from it.
Never understood why people would try to instigate a semi truck, or any large truck. Don't they know they're most likely going to lose? Badly?
it's because they're fucking idiots
I've made a large truck come to a complete stop (Safely mind you) after he was turning on the inside lane and I was on the outside one in which he just came straight across. Almost took out a sign on the road avoiding this idiot.
However when I did talk to him through the window he seemed remorseful for what he had done.
As long as you've done it safely and not for the sake of being a jackass.
No brake checking no... just slowly coming to a stop.
+PrimeWeekle People do it to get the semi to hit them and equals out to big fat paycheck from trucking companies. Now and days with so much of that shit going on, a lot of drivers/companies are using dashcams to stop the shenanigans, but, people still try to do it.......if they live through it

Or a new truck, but weld a lot of rusty iron on the front nearside (that might be dangerous) so you could attach a chunk of rubber from a truck tire. Every morning smear it with a mixture of paint, cow dung, poo, vomit and a bit of road kill.
Older truck or a bigger bullbar🤣
Not sure about Aus, but it's really bad in the US to have any avoidable wreck in a CMV, goes on daq regardless of who is at fault
You're a nice man for submitting this to Vic. Police.
I would have just handed it over to the coroner.
Your ego is bigger than your brain.
Hilux driver needs to be removed from the road never to be allowed back, dangerous to everybody around.
+Raymond Alcantara are you being sarcastic orr what?
+Harol Kaemerer actually no. Not semi trucks all the time but occasionally I've actually seen a few negligent semi truck drivers. Just mostly pickup truck drivers I seem to have the most trouble with in terms of tailgating. Annoys me when I see them coming close up my rear
+Themeparkfanatic The best thing to do is go to court and tell them to show the video at the end. Catches them in a lie under oath, then for the most part no one will believe anything after that that they say.
+Greg L. also would sue for lost wages for the day.
Get a result from the cops
Nah mate.
Zero fucks were given by the cops.
tutyfruty200 that sucks. Why didn't they care? The footage clearly shows hilux instigating an accident.
LOL!!
+Quarker Not really. At most, it just shows some dumb ass who can't drive.
+Focusyn Yes, that was my thought. This is the kind of thing you get when drivers use mobile phones.
"trying to intimidate a truck driver" change it to intimidates truck driver. because mission success, you should rammed him =}
Lets not forget the dashcam that would of caught him doing that and result in him losing his job
+Chronic_x turn off dash cam, use gun !!!
+Tony Stark, contrary to what most people appear to think, trucks break too.
Most highway transport truckers like their trucks looking clean. The last thing they're going to want to do is intentionally damage the bodywork, so as to spend thousands fixing it again.
+Jeremy Farrance It's ok, it's a Hilux. Those things are indestructible
+airwick4u An attempt to inject humor, sure, but the fact is, it's a WORK truck, and nobody wants a truck rendered out of service because it is not generating revenue if it's in the shop.
He was showing you how annoying lane hoggers are, just like you were lane hogging when you joined the carriageway.
I personally enjoy when people get in front of me and slow down. It's hilarious. They want to go fast. And now to bother someone else they aren't going fast. They are literally stopping themselves from doing what they want to do. Morons... but then the part where he cut you off... that was criminally insane.
What a idiot
A semi would be the LAST vehicle I’d mess with. Some people are just ignorant
Good to see the mail was going to be delivered on time.
You moved to lane 3 way too early when you weren’t overtaking. That obviously annoyed the Hilux. You then exacerbated the situation by going to war with the Hilux in lane 4. Poor driving by both parties.
Driver if it's you or the guardrail....plow the road ...maintain your lane!!!
I wonder why no one has attatched a loudspeaker system on the outside of their cab yet. Just imagine how fast someone would stop break checking if they heard 'attention dumbass you are on camera.'
I am pretty sure those are illegal
***** Troll elsewhere.
***** Troll elsewhere.
Olstar just report him for hate speech/harassment at any rate you'd have to check with local regulations they might be illegal might not be.
Arcamean While trolls like him may have no problem abusing such rules like that I won't be stooping to their level.
If that was Russia the Hilux would have been pitted (hit from the side and forced into a spin).
+Sinky if it would have been in russia the Hilux driver would have thrown an empty vodka bottle on the truck while signaling left and slicing hard to the right
obviously those accidents we see in russia are caused by reckless behavior but i dare to say mainly cause of bad unsafe roads and really bad weather and the combination of any 2 of them is deadly
If he keeps doing that sort of thing he will find out how un unbreakable his hilux really is.
It seems the Hilux driver did a good job of intimidating the truck, hence the lack of a crash.
I'd suggest you do that if you live in Australia - You clearly are oblivious to the basics.
skateboard341 lol
tcpnetworks Just to back you up its Australian road rule Reg 130. about keeping left.
Keep left, unless OVERTAKING. These are signs that are everywhere, in Australia. What bewilders me is how people think they're invisible and taking on 22 odd tonnes when you're 2 at the most. Idiots that buy 4wd's as runabouts in suburbia when they'd never even go bush, should be shot.
skateboard341 you replyed to your own comment
This is why I love driving a shit car, I'll happily slam into a dickhead in an X5 if they're at fault just to prove a point =)
then you are stupid as fuck. Try to hurt yourself and others
I like rentals. put lots of insurance on them.
HAHAHAHAHA genius ;)
You are automatically at fault in a court of law if you rear end someone because you did not keep the appropriate stopping distance with the car in front of you!
No excuses!
skateboard341
wrong again
Don't you hate it when truck drivers forget that they are driving a truck and use the far right lane. Sure it's legal but don't be a nuisance.
My bet is he was busy texting or on the phone, and we all know that takes priority over driving.
Why not cruise along in the lefthand lane. You might avoid some of this stuff.
How about: "Idiot trucker, frivolously driving in the 3rd lane", without even attempting to overtake anybody.
500 euro ticket for you buddy !
+fliteshare Shut up, Meg.
+fliteshare Exactly! And why are you staying in the 3rd lane
Not in Eurotrash country.
I would of stood my ground and kept going.
That’s not safe. If you can do something to prevent an accident, and you don’t, then you are also at fault.
I believe this is Australia, one of few countries known for driving on the correct side of the road. As u might imagine I am a bias prick from the UK.
I wonder if you cut him off at first.
+terryyouth morally yes. Legally no.
Ya. I get so mad seeing this stuff. I wish we could just run over these assholes.
That's what I call a good driver, Truck driver that is. Despite the stupidity of the red Hilux, the truck driver avoided an accident. Way to go mate!
When I get my license I will always respect truck drivers because they deserve it.
It's not about "deserving" it, it's about your safety mate. We are not trying to kill you car drivers, but through lack of knowing, most car drivers are try to kill themselves it seems.
Hey we truckers appreciate that mate!
This video is exactly the reason why I could never be a truck driver; I would lose my license the first time someone tried that by bulldozing my way right through their car. Kudos to keeping it professional.
Good thing there were road safety cameras (speed cameras) operating in the area to prevent that sort of thing happening....Oh wait, they don't!!
i used to be scared of big trucks on highways like that, but then i realized that the drivers are professionals and it their job to drive big rigs , they know what they are doing, not like some people who go from a small hatch to a big ute or 4x4 and think they are king of the road.
I'm a UK Class1 Truck driver firstly, before being criticised "I don't know what I'm talking about"
And yes we see Assholes on the road all day long like this, there is No excuse for the idiot in the red Toyota Hilux playing cat and mouse with a Heavy goods vehicle !!
Hopefully, you notified your highway patrol/state police agency and, showed them the video.
seems to me he succeeded in intimidating you. you done good. no harm, no foul. happens every day.
Aussie Shooter helix was probably comin in quick and truck comes over 2 lanes and gets in front of him..thinking thats what happened
yeh prob mate, We got a lot of rage on Perth roads, shit I've seen some good punch ups on the side of the road..
+Aussie Shooter A bit too far? LMAO. In my part of the world we have a more direct description. The guy in the pickup is a phocking azzhole.
Why'd you let him over I wouldn't have.
No rear facing camera to see what you did to him when you unnecessarily made your way out from the slip road into the middle lane and overtook fresh air for a mile.
Dear sir/madam,
On behalf of all us Toyota truck/suv owners, I apologize for this POS. Im sure we all believe that POS should not represent us Toyota owners and should be stripped of this Taco ownership.
Sincerely,
A '14 4Runner owner
Do people really think a 3000 pound car is going to intimidate a guy/girl in a fucking metal beast weighing 80-100 thousand pounds?
What were you driving by the way?
It's not DO they think it will but rather what's the consequences of doing so? No trucker wants to run over a car because he knows people can EASILY die and will nine times out of ten try to avoid an accident. Kudos to this trucker for not letting his rage get the best of him.
1200 pound car? Maybe a beetle
+GhilleGhille Eh, I just threw out a random number.
yes, yes they do. in fact, I'm pretty sure Prius drivers think the battery in their car outlays a Mack, lmao
On an international license by any chance?
Man this is nuthing , come to Russia and try again..that red Hillux would be history and full with bangs ..that driver would get weeped for sho !!!
Probably... This is why we are getting dashcams galore out here. Twats in hiluxes that think they own the road.
true bro
Looks like he tried- and succeeded
He was really testing the "unbreakable theory" that they advertise on TV? lol
Actually those heaps of shit are not the "unbreakable" series.
someone did this to me in my truck a few months back
I just let him hit me! my wheel studs made one hell of a mess to the side of his car
i would not have yielded to him
My oh my...that was exciting footage...made my day.
I guess you should also learn about lane hogging though
i feel your pain mate, the stuff i see each day doing the run to Port Kembla never caeses to amazme me. I have now started sharing some of my vision with the boys and girls from Wollongomg LAC.
Why move straight into the middle lane?
if theres no one in it, and thats where you want to be, then why not?
also, dual left exit lanes up ahead so it traffic banks up it shouldnt impact the two right lanes.
its not illegal in any way. neither is undertaking here - so theres still two (or three) lanes to go around them if you really wanted to.
so why shouldnt they do it if its safe to do so?
I never let them win. Why in hell did you let him over take you? Need to change your title to I'm a pssy, he intimidated me
had exactly the same situation yesterday. Someone cutting me of... my reaction was the same + a finger :)
We need to be able to use the outside lane in the UK, middle lane hoggers are infuriating!
+Daniel Astbury No you don't. You already fuck up every two lane carriageway you're on. You're not getting the third lane too!
Like my dad says, "Lead, follow, or get the fuck out of the way"
you mean like this truck driver that was sat in the middle lane... the whole fuckin time.. probably pissed the other bloke off
The truck driver's mistake: Merging lane and then continues to change lane.
See this is where if I was a truck driver, I'd end up being a serial killer!!
Poor lane choice - what's wrong with the inside lane? But - the Hilux was changing lanes, not you. I'd have held your ground and let him hit you. His fault.
He didnt "try" to intimidate the truck driver. He DID intimidate the truck driver. Rightly or wrongly the truck driver backed off.
Careful buddy, you failed to pause to look before changing into the second lane. Fine and demerits coming up soon. One lane change at a time.. Period
The Hilux driver shows no road awareness or just simply does not care about other road users, i have suffered from the same type of deluded halfwit here in the UK.
I have a legit curious question. Let's say that you do submit the video to police. What does police do? What can they do? Ticket the driver after tracking the license number ?
They can revoke their license or apply fines/penalties/citations for the dangerous driving.
yes, in our country it is called objective responsibility
VroomToRaftel Charged with dangerous driving
John Conway They don't care that's for courts to decide. Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
In Canada if this video were given to police, the Hilux owner would likely be charged with carless driving, driving without due consideration or something along those lines. Possibly anti road rage laws come into play. Had there been a collision and this video shown to insurance, the Hilux would likely be deemed at fault.
Is this Australia?
He signaled out of view of the camera
skateboard341 AND IT WAS AN ILLEGAL MERGE!
Passing on the right in the video was a completely normal thing to do.
tcpnetworks
you are required to indicate BEFORE you merge
John Conway technically, He did indicate before he merged. Now what
There are two idiots here.
I swear trucks are not aloud in the 3rd lane and even the 2nd lane unless over taking
I swear you have no idea about the road rules
Arthur Wood So long as you aren't over 90dB. Mr Snypes seems to prefer that you be aquiet in the 3rd lane.
oh alright McFearsome2 thanks for the fact. and Arthur Wood i swear you have a bus to catch seems u dont have a car
HMSnypes GTA 5 is not real life mate ! I swear When you grow you'll find out
Arthur Wood I know the graphics are pretty good in GTA5, but you DO know that this hilux clip is not from that, right? You may have been watching GTA5 clips before, but you've wandered into the dash cam section of youtube. even though its not a russian road.
people who try and do this to trucks do it because they know it takes a period of time for the truck to slow down giving them time to get rear ended
but then the truck shows the video of them slowing down with a huuuuuuuuuuge gap infront and they dont get to claim no insurance
Wasn't even worth posting.
Roo bars! I would have customised his hilux for him it would have been called a TOYOTA SHITLUCK.
.
So, rightly or wrongly, he probably thinks you had done something to him first.
when i was in the truck, the red toyota would have a lot of damage on the right side. I wouldn,t go one inch on side for such an idiot.
I wouldn't slow down, I would of just ran right into him. He wants to play the intimidation game with a massive truck then ill play.
The truck driver probably went to the police who then made it clear that his actions were just as reckless as the Hulix drivers and if it went further, both would be charged and he decided to walk away.
a professional truck driver has a higher level of accountability, and you weren't using your horn defensively, you were using it offensively
Typical hilux driver. I would have stood my ground, if he had hit you he would've been in the wrong and you could've got a paid holiday after claiming loss of wages whilst your truck was getting fixed. I'm so sick of dealing with these bullies.
well it is the best selling car in Aus....
He was trying to get you to hit him. I’m glad you have the dash camera.
How fortunate the Hilux driver gets to go home to his family. Great driving skills from the Truck driver.
Eli T Theres a depressing thought ...... the hilux driver has offspring !!!
I would have fed him the back of that lorry. You're too kind.
First thing I do when I get my truck: Camera.
Aaron Zulu Look up the rules on changing lanes without caution.
``the footage has been submitted to the Victoria police``
did you get a response from them?
out of curiosity are trucks allowed in all 3 lanes?!!..In uk only lanes 1 & 2 trucks can use!..
Is there a speed limit for large trucks in Australia, UK and USA on highways? In germany they have a speed limit of 80-90 Km/h, which is about 50-55 mph.
The speed limit for trucks in the U.S. are the same as the cars! In Texas trucks could go up to 80-85 mph
LoL
Should have maintained your lane and let the car pit maneuver itself.
Melbourne, what a cake hole. You guys should come up to Queensland. No one drives like that up here!!!
That's a normal day of driving a truck in the USA.
Only this isn't the USA...
True it's not but just sayin.
Not the sort of car you want to use to intimidate trucks. That's straight out bullying!
