- This is a very rare excerpt of George Sanders and the extremely funny John Cleese in the film The best house in London: A raunchy farse placed in Victorian England. Storyline: The government attempts to solve the problem of prostitution by establishing the world's most fabulous brothel. In this Third clip you see George and John in what I feel is a very Pythonesque scene remenisant of The Meaning of Life Film.... you know, where a soldier get his leg bitten off in the night... by a Tiger!!!

John Cleese Приколы
John Cleese wrote in his autobiography that he was genuinly terrified when they filmed this scene, as the plates and glass in his hand were shot with a real gun. Sanders even called filming to stop when he saw that Cleese simply became to nervous to film the scene.
This is how Shere Khan really died. R.I.P the brilliant George Sanders.
Yes your right... a very small flinch, Cleese is doing his 'manic' bit which he always does brilliantly. Its rare to see George in comedy which is why i love him in this film and opposite one of our great comedians. Im surprised Cleese didnt have more lines.
Well this won't do.
This simply will not do.
With everything shattering about him, his composure is quite good.
That there is a man too damn british for his own good.
Basil Fawlty and shere Khan
Fire if you dare!!! Awesome.
I don't think Mr Cleese was acting those twitches. :D
Its not available on DVD and ive never seen a VHS copy. Im sure it will be back on TCM in in the not to near future. Great movie, with a top class cast.
I've got it on DVD I had to order it
i'd wish donald gray would appear in this film
very similar to Carry On up the Khyber
George. I presume they both know what's going to fly apart on their table as it happens, but I'd have a hard time to not flinch. George really only flinches once, at the first shot across the table. I think Cleese was haming it a bit, but who's to say.
Well you would be a little startled.
🤣🤣🤣
Ah yes its Rule Britannia of course. LOL
Sorry which song are you refering to? the one little emilly pankhurst is singing?
