We only use Honda Engines on our trucks to power our pressure washing business. We run these engines for hours Monday - Saturday and they can withstand our heavy work loads. This engine today has almost 800 hours on it and we have had no issues out in the field with it. If you have any questions why we chose this engine, or the pump, drop us a comment and we will get back to you.
Thanks!

@@BROWNSPRESSUREWASHING Thanks a ton.
where did you get your skid for the gx690?
Hi Carl, we get almost all our equipment from Absolute Chemical here in Nashville TN. They can custom build just about anything. (615) 876-1400 www.absolutechemical.com
Should I go with the belt or the poly chain? I’m fixing to pull the trigger and unsure.
Hey KG, sry for the delay. We are not familiar with the Polly chains but we love the belt driven, the belts do sometimes break every 1.5 - 3 years but they are SUPER easy to fix, it can be talked through over the phone. And Absolute chemical in Nashville is great for gear and advice on how to fix things.
Which engine is better. The 2 stroke or 4 stroke gx690 Honda engine
Hey Herbert sorry for the delay. Here's what we would say about those two. We don't like mixing any gas and oil so for us at Brown's we only use the 4 stroke all the way so we don't have to do any mixing.
What is the other type of motor you are running?
Hi Adam,
We only run Honda GX690 for our machines. I will say, we do have one machine that is a predator brand and its actually causing a lot of electrical issues for us so we like to stick to Honda.
Hope that helps, thanks!
@@BROWNSPRESSUREWASHING Oh, I was hoping it was Vanguard. I've had issues with a Vanguard and other Briggs engines for years now. Hondas? Not an issue at all and some of my Honda stuff is over 40 years old, one of them used to be a rental roto-tiller. The plastic's faded and disintegrating but it's one of the nicest units I have worked with. Honda is smooth, fairly quiet, doesn't smell as much even in flathead G engines unlike the Briggs or Tecumseh flatheads (I've had better luck with Tecumseh over Briggs though so...yeah). The only American engine brand that comes incredibly close to Honda's GX line is Kohler's Command Pro series.
@@WJCTechyman Thanks for dropping in! Wow 40 years!! I know we have a few that are getting up there in age but not 40 yet. :) We've heard good things as well about Tecumseh and Kohler. Do you own a pressure washing company?
Hello there! Any major problems with the engine in 800 hours? Greetings from Romania!🇷🇴
Hello there Zerder!! Wow Romania! :) That's incredible. Thanks for stopping by our channel. So we can run those engines thousands of hours but its a Must that you maintain all the fluids on a regular basis! Are you currently using the Honda GX690? If so what kind of oil are you using?
@@BROWNSPRESSUREWASHING I don t own one yet, but I want to buy one next week, the gx690 is the only one that I can find in Romania, I didn t find the 700 and 800 series, and I am not sure yet what kind of oil I have to use but if you can tell me what you guys use in your engine, I will appreciate it a lot! Cheers!
@@BROWNSPRESSUREWASHING - A Belgian over here! :)
I use Honda GCC V-twin engines all the time.
The very best oil you can use for these air-cooled puppies is a 10w30 : Motul 7100 10w30 or Amsoil 10w30 SS Diesel. Or the regular Amsoil 10w30 is ok too.
These provide the lowest oil consumption (Low noack), best heat control, cleaning power. They stay in grade after xx heat cycles.
Hot summers? No problem.
Avoid a 5w40 or 10w40 if you can.
Hope this helps.
Anything against the Honda gx800?
Nope, not from us. :) The GX690 gets everything we need done for the jobs we face. You must have some big jobs. ha
@@BROWNSPRESSUREWASHING not yet just got a good deal lol
@@Recon77 Good deals are hard to pass up. :) Hope and pray the big jobs are in the days to come man!
What kind of psi are you running with Honda 690 ????
What RPM is normal for washing ?????
Great question and thank you for taking time to reach out. We use 3500psi, but that's not the best way to determine the effectiveness of a wash. The trick is GPM..... We use 8GPM Honda 3500 to soft wash 90% of our jobs. I know its expensive, but we can wash a 2500sft house in 45-60min. Hope this helps.
