  • This video shows you how I repaired my pressure washer with a locked up pull cord and engine. Some pressure washers are hard to pull because of the water pressure in the line. Once you squeeze the handle, the pull cord works like normal. This problem in this video is different, where the pull cord is locked up with a stuck engine.

    Amazing, it worked for me. I put about 2-3 tablespoons of mystery oil in the cylinder then took off the recoil and started moving it back and forth. At first it only moved an eighth of an inch. Within a minute I could turn the it. But the plug back in and fired it up.

      Oh nice, that's cool! Somewhere I think I heard someone say to shut the fuel off before turning it off and running it till it stalls out. That might be worth trying to preventing engine lock up.

    Have now used this to clean house siding and it performed well ruclips.net/user/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX I also bought some wand extensions which enabled higher washing without needing a ladder. I recommend both. This unit arrived quickly, was easy to assemble (only had to attach the handle), and arrived in perfect condition. The only very slight downgrade from a perfect score is the design has a low handle and requires pulling from the side. My old washer was an upright model, while this one is more horizontal. Other than that, it's perfect for my needs. It has a great deal of pressure and more easily cleaned the house siding, porch rails and concrete than did my older model. The engine is a bit louder, as well, but the total time to clean was reduced by the more powerful spray. Did I mention it starts on the first or second pull every time?!! I am definitely happy with this model.

    You sir, are a godsend. I bought a new pressure washer last year, treating myself for father's day, but procrastinated until last night when I finally assembled it. Stupid me started it without it having oil - who knew? Well, now I know... Anyway, it turned over for a minute and then died. Couldn't turn it over, was thinking it would be a $400 paperweight. You saved me! Thank you - thank you - thank you!

    My choke lever on my Husqvarna 3200 psi is stuck in the middle. It won’t go back to the cold position(way left). I’m unable to start it after using it for several hours the other day. It still had half oil left and plenty of gas left. This is a brand new pressure washer too.

Pulled the plug and it was wet. Left it out and pulled the cord and water shot out of the plug port. Cracked block?

      I'm pretty sure I let mine sit for a day or 2 before trying to manually moving the crank. I'm not a small engine expert, but that's what worked for me.
      Also, if you do get it fixed, I heard to get in the habit of turning off the fuel a minute before shutting it off, so the fuel gets burned off.

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  Год назад +1

      I don't think it helped this time, but maybe made it turn by hand easier. I heard to shut the fuel off next time and let the engine run. I'll see if that helps.

  • @alvinhoffman4195
    @alvinhoffman4195 Год назад

    Do you get the oil out before you pour that in

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  Год назад

      The engine oil stays in the pressure washer. The key is to just pour a little Marvel Mystery Oil in, not too much. Another thing I learned after making this video is before putting it in storage while using it, shut the fuel off while running the pressure washer so it burns the remaining fuel off in the line. This helps prevent the lock-up in the first place.
