Hey Lance, I had a question about something I’m running into in this field. Every job listing for a CM or PM requires 5-10 years of experience, how the heck do you get experience if nobody will hire you because you don’t have experience? I’m starting as a project manager for a roofing company that I hope will count towards it, but it’s crazy because some of these same companies with these listings have their owners complaining about young people not going into construction management 😂
Im 26 and heading into that direction to PM. Im currently on the plan review side in contruction. It fell on my lap by surprise. I started going to a good bit of real estate and contruction networking events. Ended up meeting a few people that were like you should transfer over to being a PM and well have yoi shadow ours. That is ny best advice. Blessings to you!
