I bought mine a couple of months back. It was hopeless on the stock tyres. I’m running mine on carpet now with 30 shore slicks in the rear, stock fronts and a carbon t plate. Still a bit loose but much much better
Hmm... I have that screwdriver too, but it never seems to strip screws out. It runs out of torque before theyre even all the way in for me. I finish setting em by hand. The stock tires are fine on a 30 degree C track, but crappy when its colder. Tires are sorted by temperature.
Thanks.. I currently have the Sauber-Mercedes 1987 C9 No.61 LM MR-03 Readyset and want to get the Syncro Touch KT-432PT 82136 and would like an EVO LM version so I can swap my Sauber as I think I may stick in the "LM" class.. May get an MM and AWD in the future, but for now going to stick with the LMs.. Thanks again..
This is true unless you get better tyres . Even then they can gather dust and grip less . Yes my early experience was the same 20years ago with mr01 . Hence I went awd for slippy tiles
Quick question for you. I bought two MA AWD's (celica and the new Supra) so my son and I can have some fun. Drifting has been great, and I bought some high traction tires and we now also race them in the living room, which is all hard polished tile. So, the 20-shore grip tires give us amazing traction with no issues. We zip along great and are able to corner really well. Very happy. BUT, he (and I) want the nicer looking bodies, so I was debating also getting the MR03';s (RWD) models. But, worried that they wont handle as well. What do you think? on the same surface, with the same grip tires where do you think I would see a difference between the two?
The body makes a difference when using wider offset wheels to match the body size. Eg a audi r8 with 98 mm wheelbase and wdoer offsets will give a more stable but less manoveralbe drive. At high speed less flip over on corners. (you would need correct wheels and optional extender kit for this length) depends on size and circuit.
which do you think good for future upgrades and flexibility for beginners to step into a more advanced level of driving these RC cars? MR03 RWD EVO or MA030 AWD EVO?
If we are talking just mini z. I think long term the evo rwd is true racer. The awd gives flexibility to drift. Depends what surface you are on. On RCP I think evo rwd is king. On slippery kitchen floors awd. But in terms of ease of use the awd is easier to learn how to handle being awd. More forgiving.less likely to spin. I found it very easy to drive on RCP. The rwd also needs more care in set up to get malt out of it. 👍🏽
@@GarageMiniRCUKSince I also want play occasionally drift then MA030 EVO it is. Thank you for the advice. I see other brand’s that you shown in your channel will need a lot of calibration and adjustment which scared me haha so that why I see kyosho options.
May I ask how you overlapped the 2 videos so that you don't get a ghosting effect on either of the 2 cars? For a little while I thought they were both on the track at the same time.
Man I wanted to love my mr-03 so badly but upon getting a coupe I realized I just want to slide about & relax. Driving the mr-03 gave me anxiety on my tiny little baby track 😹
@@GarageMiniRCUK I’m sure if I had a larger track it would be more fun, but the mini96 is not cutting it! I’m still holding out hope I can convince the local slot car track to put down carpet & let us race there.
Agree. I'm desperate to lay down bigger track at local church hall once all is open again and get a club going. Plenty of guys who want to race... 🏎️🏎️😭Have to wait.
@@GarageMiniRCUK that would be awesome if you got a nice size club going! Man you would be an awesome resource to have at the track for beginner & higher level guys to bounce ideas off! Hello again, i plan to get another rc, I deciding between mr03 20th anniversary or a GLR-GT kit, if you are given the choice which one will you buy, it must be compatible with autoscale body, I am still my finishing my GLD build still waiting for my motor, I am kinda disappointed base on the base kit itself, I was force to buy all the upgraded part just to enjoy the kit (without the metal parts it feels uneven or unbalance), i would hate to repeat that process, I would like your input, hope you produce more videos and have a good day.

Cheers bro. Great review of these with good information. Happy new year!

Happy New Year! Love your videos. Santa brought me an EVO MR-03 MM2, so I'm really looking forward to your tuning videos.
Nice one. 😁
Great vid, really like the side by side race. Looking forward to the tuning updates since I’m running this evo as well.
Ok cool 😎

What is that screwdriver? I saw your old link but it’s dead.
Mini laptop screwdriver
Got to love the rwd for racing mate . Hood video
I know not the relevant video, but which gyro for AWD Evo do you use? I can only find the “Kyosho Gyro for Mini-Z AWD Sports MA-020s”.
It's the one that fits the Mr03. Let me double check
Very well done, as always.
Thanks so much
does the rwd work on tile and slippery floor??? i had one on those early rwd and it spin like crazy, no way to control on tile surfaces.........

Where’d you get the screw driver tool
Amazon look up laptop screwdriver
Where did you get that power screwdriver at I like that
Amazon , look for laptop mini electric screwdriver set
This is the special anniversary edition? Just wondering
No, not got that one yet 😬 I want it! 😁
Really appreciate your videos 👍
Thanks 👍🏽 😁

I use I movie on the mac. Film both cars with camera static. Use cutaway at 50 percent. 😎👍
Will this work on a rear engine it's not a mid engine car
If i am honest This shell is not my favorite. It does seem to hit against the rear pod restricting body roll and suspension
Great video as always. Do you mind providing a link where you bought you little screw driver please?
I'll drop it here later

I have not tested the glr gt kit yet. The gla is amazing out the box. The GLD I had the same experience. The Mr03 evo is good just needs good tyres.
