I was shooting some night videos and pictures last night and I'm impressed with the versatility. Such a pleasure to use and the 2k display with 1500 nits brightness is unbearable 💪
The display is crazy good. I still cannot feel the peak brightness advantage due to the season, but the colors are amazing. It's the first time I see AMOLED screen not looking like AMOLED.
I'm sad that there is no telephoto camera, not even a normal one. It would have made a huge difference! I am still going to buy it though, as I rarely take photos with more than 5x zoom. Except that, everything else appears to me amazing with this phone!
Yeah, I also reacted similarly at the beginning. But usually the telephoto lenses have much smaller sensors behind and the image quality suffers. So I thing I prefer the cropped image from the 108MP .
I don't think we can call it "heating". Just warming up - due to the way 888 works. It gets warm with regular browsing if you don't have a case. I don't mind that. As far as I can see most SD 888-based devices have that ... feature.
No, but I am not a gamer; I can feel it gets warmer when I download a lot of stuff. But when installing and running PUBG it was totally fine. I think the current version of the OS is not optimized. I can say bad words mostly about the battery life.

Oneplus 8 Pro has been discounted now and is around 650 - guess this makes your choice easier. The Mi 11 is great too. A bit faster and with very similar camera performance.

Not a fan of these clichés about environmental-friendly stuff. But for the international version there IS an included charger, so no worries. I was generally referring to the devices that we expect in 2021.
Snapdragon 888 used in this phone is not doing well, test results have shown it is as good as 865 only, also when you zoom the pictures taken they are not clear. MI has always been good at giving good phone in budget section but in flagship it is giving below par things.
I like its performance a lot more compared to the Mi 10. |I also believe photos could be better and there will certainly be enhancements in the coming weeks.

I did not see any pictures in portrait mode and I did not see any comparison with the rest of the competing phones that have good cameras, so how can I know that the Mi 11 cameras are great in portrait mode? Should I rely on your words only!

Water resistance is now very important when we have to wash our phones every time after using it out. And I think this price is over expensive for Chinese phones. It seems for me that Samsung s21 is a more attractive option.
Yeah, lots of things change... Chinese phones are now often more expensive than Samsung devices. Truth is that the Mi 11 does have some water resistance integrated, not sure how good it actually is. Haven't checked Jerry Rig Everything's teardown yet :)
I have no such thermometer yet so I can't show, but it handles well daily operations. Note that I am not a gamer and it's hard for me to give good feedback about it. But I'll test it with some high CPU intensive tasks for the next review. I first want it to get MIUI 12.5 and then we'll talk about it.

Hey, thank you Daniel for your comments! There's no official IP rating, but it is well waterproof - you can take a look at JerryRigEverything's teardown. As for the camera - the software crop of the 108MP will be a good enough replacement of a telephoto lens.
Mi 11 have some waterproof material even though no ip certificated . I own the mi11 , i usually go to work ride the motorcycle , in rainy day , my whole body totally wet because of the rain , and mi11 sitting in my pocket , and still working fine :) You can put mi 11 under water too , but do not put it under water more other than IP certified smartphones :) ,btw sorry about my bad english .
Samsung S21 isn't less expensive than the previous. For many reasons. Plastic Inferior housing ($200 phone housing) No charger ( you buy that differently) 1080 screen. They made and inferior phone and Called it S21. There is absolutely no damn reason why charger Should be removed from the phone. It's not justified. Because Apple did samsung had to copy! Forget about the bull*** about environment that's arrant nonsense!!
