- I just can't explain how much I'm blown away by Mr. Martels voice.
And in this cover it was just SO clear that there's so much Freddy over his sound.
I fully enjoyed this cover and I was so excited by his energy also.

Also Sabina, Marc did vocal parts for the bohemian rhapsody film. Certain scenes they used Marc’s voice, plus they used him for certain live performances due to the audio in some of them being rough around the edges cause of the limitations of the technology at that time.

Marc was also handpicked by Brian May and Roger Taylor to be in their official tribute band. There were auditions held & Marc submitted his Somebody to Love rendition which got 20+ million views. He won the spot for the band. Roger has said it was very strange whenever marc started singing. He got super emotional every time Marc performed one of their songs.

Oh I like that. As a Queen fan, you have the right to be critical of ‘impersonators’ or singers who do cover versions. This guy has done a wonderful job with absolute credibility. Job done for me.

As you observed,Marc is truly a nice guy! Met him at a charity event he performed at. He is the real deal and all around good dude. Check out his previous band called Downhere…..that’s when he was approached by fans and told him he sounds like Freddie. The only thing he knew Queen from at that point was the scene in the movie Wayne’s World. The band then started to cover a couple of Queen songs in their set. Check out 2 songs from Downhere….My Last Amen and Cathedral made of People! Both are stellar! That’s when I became a fan at least 10 years ago!

If you want to take the chance to see Marc live with his tribute show to Queen, then there is Europe or more precisely in Germany the possibility to visit a concert of him in October 2023. The closest place to the Danish border where he performs is Hamburg on October 12, 2023. I already had the pleasure to see him live in Hamburg in January 2020 and since last week when the presale of tickets started I immediately secured some for October 2023
I’m seeing him live on May 7th getting tickets this weekend I’m excited, it’ll be my first show ever attending.
And not to forget on July 9, 2022 in Katwijk/Netherlands or August 4, 2022 in Karlsruhe-Bruchsal 😉

The Freddie Mercury comparisons Marc was getting were at his bands shows. People came up to him & said he sounded like Freddie constantly, thus making him look into the bands music fully.

So many other Queen covers, but you should definitely check out Somebody to Love. But check out his other covers as well. He does an incredible job of REM’s Everyone Hurt, it will hit you emotionally. And his cover of Unchained Melody is absolutely breathtaking. He has an incredible voice, technically great but his emotive quality is astounding. Piano is masterful, but wait until you him play guitar. A true talent.

One thing I really enjoy about your videos is that you film sitting on the ground. This just makes everything seem so much more personal and chill to me, for some reason. Also, your laidback, down-to-earth Nordic sensibilities are also lovely. And I like the uniqueness of making captions of your thoughts, which makes everything feel so seamless, because you're not distracted by having to speak. Heard Marc in concert back in 2003 when he was with Downhere. Incredible voice and talent as you can see.

Also along the lines of singers who sound like alike there is Katrina Velarde's "Impersonating Singers 3 (Burn)". Like Morissette Amon, she is from the Philippines. A more common introduction to her might be her might be her "Reflections", or her collaboration with sometimes trio BuDaKhel on "One Sweet Day".
