You really don't _HAVE TO_ close your eyes b/c Marc looks amazingly like Freddie too. It's almost like Christine Taylor playing Marcia Brady in the Brady Bunch movie. The resemblances are uncanny. If you stuck a mustache and some protruding front teeth on Marc.... _BAM!!!_ Freddie Mercury!!
The scary thing is, he isn’t trying to sound like a replica. His voice and his playing is all him. Even the mannerisms is very much like Freddie. He nails everything from the extended vibratos to accentuate those long notes. Truly a talent and a master of his craft
I think Marc is actually a better pianist than Freddie. Vocally, he’s pretty much identical. Calling Marc an imitator would be an insult to how accurate he is and how goddamn hard it is to pull off what Freddie’s music requires. His stage presence falls short, though (I’d kill to see his stage show, though!) and while this version probably beats the pants off of any solo version Freddie could have done, the big difference is that Marc couldn’t have written the song. No one could have.
Marc Martel is actually very well known for his likeness to Freddie. He even contributed to the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. “Martel contributed vocal recordings for the Queen biographical film, Bohemian Rhapsody (2018).[16] Film producer Graham King confirmed that Marc Martel recorded vocals for the film in Rolling Stone article: Most singing scenes in the movie rely on either vocal stems from Queen master tapes or new recordings by Marc Martel, a Canadian Christian rock singer whose voice is practically identical to the late frontman's. ‘Literally, you could close your eyes and it's Freddie," says King. "And that's a very tough thing to do.’”
I met Marc in a starbucks in Mexico....during his Tour performing Queen Music ...he is a very humble and approachable person, he deserves all the success in the world for being such a great artist!
The first time I watched this I fully expected to absolutely hate it. I had never heard a cover of a queen song that didn’t make me sad. This was the first and last that I thoroughly enjoyed and have listened to multiple times.
I haven't heard his performance of BH, but I remember seeing some of his videos from quite a while back. Incidentally, the high "for me" in the original was actually sung not by Freddie, but by Roger Taylor, Queen's drummer. I can see Freddie singing using the same stylistic choices as Marc. The song I have heard was his version of "Someone To Love" which used a backing track and I believe that was the clip that the Internet kind of discovered him with.
He sang parts in the movie BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. He is also was the lead in the band Queen Extravaganza. Loved his audition video for that position. He was chosen by Roger and Brian.
Marc Martel makes me wonder if Freddie Mercury was visiting Canada in February 1976, nine months before Marc was born. :) I know Queen did some concerts there in 1977.
I asked myself a similar question after countless hours of video studies about Marc Martel. It's not just Freddy's voice but also the enormous parallels in facial expressions, body language and his human and musical aura. Out of this world...reincarnation
thanks for enjoying marc with us...& thank you for your sweet, sweet, sweeeeet self & remember my little wee baby boy. seriously, that was the nicest thing i've heard inna while. here's to humans being humane to other humans! :)
Marc Martel is a musical genius.. You’ll love Love of my life, Who wants to live forever, Mercaroti and I think you’ll really appreciate his cover of Dolly Partons I will always love you.
I've seen a couple of interviews with Marc. He does chalk up some of his likeness to Freddie because of having a similar nasal structure. And if you look, his face is a bit like Freddie's.
Oh, I was so excited to see this with the very talented Marc! I was fortunate enough to see him perform in Charlotte, NC way back in the early 2000s when he was in a Christian band called Downhere. They did a little bit of We Will Rock You at the beginning of their concert and I was blown away by Marc's likeness to Freddie's voice. Glad to see he's still around and singing strongly. 🙂
It’s pretty obvious now why your channel is getting more attention, the word is getting around that your reactions are really good! I was on Julia Nilon’s chat the other night and we were talking about you and your channel, from what she said I think maybe she would like to do a colab with you! That would be mega!!! 💖💕💖
@@osovagabundo1 And let's expand on this even further... Let's have a big Podcast where they have Angelina Jordan singing at age 9 or 10 as well as age 16, Is live performances, And compared to the DIMASH, at age 10 and and age 16.... The Podcast can be explore the roots of of fantastic localists localists as they were up-and-coming... Although we can't do it at age 22 or 26 as well because Angelina is still only 16.
What I liked about that was Marc Martel does a delayed vibrato exactly like Freddie used to do and also a brilliant singer you may have heard of called Lolli Wren (who incidentally, needs to do more recording because she's brilliant).
Please, please, please react to Marc Martel performing Nessun Dorma as both Pavarotti AND Freddie Mercury (search for Marc Martel Mercurotti). It is one of the most magnificent things you will ever hear!
Great cover! Great analysis! Isn’t it amazing that this was originally three separate songs put into one. Keep up the great work Lolli… well, you already are because this is several months old… oh, you know what I mean! ❤
Cant believe we stick around? Shooooot im not gonna leave lolol. Im sure many feel the same. Your reactions, breakdowns, and even your own singing is fantastic!!!!! Everything your channel has is well earned and extremely deserved.
He made Celine Dion shed a tear during a live performance of Somebody to Love. She was in an interview talking and she's a big fan of Freddy, then they talked about that she also likes good imitations and that she saw this guy once, and she remembered his name (Marc Martel). Then he shows up playing. You can find it on youtube (the singing anyways, the interview part you might find by googling it).
You’re so obviously expertly knowledgable when it comes to the art & science of singing. But, what separates you from the rest is how open you are to being funny, silly, and extremely expressive with your reactions to each & every special moment of the performances that you watch. Your Silver Play Button is very much hard-earned, so enjoy it fully & completely because I’m sure you’ve had to put up with some very unfair & unpleasant criticisms from more prudish/rigid viewers of your work. Ignore them, and just keep being yourself. Congrats on 100K, and here’s to hoping you reach 500K! Cheers!
Marc’s been playing piano since he was 6 years old, so the years of experience really showcases his musicianship. Plus I liked your comment about him being a humble guy cause he really is.🤗
No one breaks down the musicality of a song better than your channel. I love vocal coach channels because it's so much fun learning, but you really have a pedagogic way of putting things into layman terms like no other. Love it! And killer editing.
Is this real what i am witnessing ?? Is this absolutely him singing or miming. He is not only sounds like FM but he sounds like the entire Queen. Outstanding performance. ALSO, great reaction tooooo ☺️
Wonderful analysis. Thank you so much for listening/analyzing Marc who is an amazing musician and as you mentioned, humble man. I truly hope we see more of him, not just his Freddie stuff either :) He's a natural mimic and "does" several other singers. That being said, he's also wonderful when he is "just" Marc Martel.
Congratulation on the 100,000 award !!! For my money, with your knowledge, skill, attitude and sense of humor there is no reactor more deserving. Regardless who you are reacting. I know I will be captivated in a topic I have no aptitude and at some or many places will be delighted to giggles. Who could resist The Fairy Yoice Mother, I love her ! Marc is an amazing talent !

My goodness. You are delightful 🤗
Must be like him, they used his voice in the film :-)
Marc went to my high school, a few grades below me. Even back in the day, you could see & hear that there was something extraordinary with him.
How cool that must be to look back now and know you were a small part of his life!
That’s cool!!!
no he didnt and no you didnt know
@@rayh966 Yes he did.
The scary thing is, he isn’t trying to sound like a replica. His voice and his playing is all him. Even the mannerisms is very much like Freddie. He nails everything from the extended vibratos to accentuate those long notes. Truly a talent and a master of his craft
I think he plays more into it when singing queen songs.
If I shut my eyes I hear Freddy and then I cry
"Barbaric level of talent" belongs in a book of famous quotations.
quantity*
The fact he even plays the piano like Freddy does is damn scary.
They were both classically trained.
Freakiest shit I've ever seen

There's been a lot of vocal coach reactions to this, but yours is not only the most entertaining, it's genuinely the most informative.
Marc has no equal. Thanks for reacting to this performance.
Reaction !👍😍 Marc ! 👍❤❤❤
Your giddiness and technical breakdown is a real treat. Love your channel!
Your reaction is priceless.. I can watch you talk the whole day 😅
You should hear his cover of under pressure... its flawless and he even has a dead ringer for bowie in it !
His cover of "Don't stop me now" is AMAZING...

I saw him live last week and it was amazing !
But for your review, I would never think to listen to Marc. What a find. A genius reviewed by a genius.
He sang parts in the movie BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. He is also was the lead in the band Queen Extravaganza. Loved his audition video for that position. He was chosen by Roger and Brian.
Marc is a true musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist beyond being a fantastic vocalist.
I think Freddie would smile. He'd be happy that people paid to see someone who sounded a lot like him and thats why they are there.
I loved ur reaction on this, u must react to marc martel who wants to live forever, oh the raspness it kills me...
If you liked Marc so much, why can't I find you reacting to more of his songs? Please and thank you!
Also cool that he was a vocalist in the Bohemian Rhapsody movie.
He was the voice double for Remi Malik. Alot of the singing in the movie is Marc.
@@randywissler9923 actually it was a mix of freddie and Marc. but u cant tell where
I saw his show Queen hommage. Ohh my god. It was so good
I hate reaction videos... but i could watch you react all day long ❤ you actually know what you're talking about x
Wow, that was incredible.
Almost as incredible as your analysis.
You are SO LOVELY 💜
Pleaseeee more Marc Martel lol h e is great. Love youre comments. Greetz from Holland
you need to watch the video of him singing "Who want to live forever" just brilliant
Agreed it’s heart wrenching

I commented the first time I came across this channel that finally someone who really knows her stuff is commenting on vocals. She is all class.
Freddie was too brilliant to be born just once.
PS
I'm literally buzzing off your energy. You're amazing
Loli, love you and your reactions so much! ❤From Russia with love! ❤🎉
Marc Martel is a musical genius.. You’ll love Love of my life, Who wants to live forever, Mercaroti and I think you’ll really appreciate his cover of Dolly Partons I will always love you.
You'd have a blast reacting to Marc Martel's Mercurotti...
I've seen a couple of interviews with Marc. He does chalk up some of his likeness to Freddie because of having a similar nasal structure. And if you look, his face is a bit like Freddie's.
I don't know what I love more, his vocal range or his piano playing. Simply amazing!
His guitar work on his Freedom 90 is just as phenomenal.
Oh, I was so excited to see this with the very talented Marc! I was fortunate enough to see him perform in Charlotte, NC way back in the early 2000s when he was in a Christian band called Downhere. So adorable!!! big hugs from Santiago Chile 🥰
No hay palabras para describir cuan grande es el talento de Marc.
Delicate, smooth vocals…..and then 🤘🕊❤️

I love that most of the singing in the Queen movie was done with master tapes of Freddy and new recordings by Marc.
Congratulations on the plaque! 👍
Marc Martell is amazing! (kinda looks like superman henry cavill too... 😉)
You should react to Love of my Life by Marc Martel. This will be absolute beauty
Wow! In certain parts I could not tell if this was not Freddie.. And loved your reaction, you are the best!
What I liked about that was Marc Martel does a delayed vibrato exactly like Freddie used to do and also a brilliant singer you may have heard of called Lolli Wren (who incidentally, needs to do more recording because she's brilliant).
This is one of the few covers I have really liked.
As a huge Queen fan, Marc's performance was a bravura tour de force. Simply amazing.
You're not going to read this but Marc has a beautiful rendition of Buckley's Hallelujah that you are going to love.
