    Every time I go to the range, I have a game plan. Then, as soon as I get there, everything goes out the window, and I'm aimlessly hitting balls. I'm going to make sure from now on I practice with purpose 🙏🏾🤙🏾

    Yup, got my Mr. SG recommended Net Playz, Bag Shag, 3 x 5 turf and small tee turf. Alignment stick-check. Towel-check. Need a dodge ball and maybe another stick. If you're doing it, Freddy's doing it then we should do it. Oh, and OK on the LIV thing-I'd go if given the chance. Be an equal opportunity advantage taker. I'm trying to break 80 at 66 Y/O. Happy 2023.

    Every time I go to the range I use the alignment sticks and a foam yoga block to work on hitting the center of the face. Definitely agree with you on the feel vs real statement. Exaggeration will change very little but it will change something

    Alignment stick above the ball changed my life. Using it to tell me how much I’m moving in my stance. We tend to stand up in the downswing, resulting in a shot far right. When I was moving to much, I’d hit the alignment stick that was placed above the ball

    I always use an alignment stick. It ensures that my set-up is aligned, so I can eliminate that as a factor when I'm trying to determine what accounts for the results of a shot.
    BTW Matt, your tip about addressing the driver toward the toe has been a huge help for my tee shot. 👍

    as always, love the channel. Can you recommend a sequence of practice for those of us that have access to a simulator? Would you do anything different vs. range session outside. Would be a fun video I think.

    Good video, thank you. I believe the way you practice is based on your experience and skill set. This video is great for those that already make good contact on all swings. For some players, especially higher handicaps, alignment rods can cause problems like tunnel vision and range claustrophobia. Would love to see a lesson simply based on ball first contact. Personally, I put a second ball outside the first so I can use it to determine which side my divot was on for ball I hit.

    I’m just wondering how you don’t have a safety net covering that beautifully stained shelving unit to the right. I mean even the pros hit hozzle rockets! I’d have those bottom cupboards dimpled in no time if I had that setup! But seriously..Great vids. Keep it up.

    If you don't practice with purpose, you're just wasting your time. If you care about what other people think about you when you are using aids, then you don't care about getting better. I've been practicing like this for years and to Matts point I used to be the only one. As time went on, people started doing the same. Be the person that kills the stigma of trying to get better.

    I have a question. i've only been playing for a year and I find that on the range I hit pretty solid shots off the mat, but when I hit the course, I have a habit of thinning shots. any idea what I can do differently to avoid this? also, awesome content!

    • @MrShortGame
      @MrShortGame  Год назад

      Most likely you’re coming out of the shot early

    • @ndnd1671
      @ndnd1671 Год назад

      Hitting off matts is pretty forgiving compared to grass and usually a lot easier to hit off of. When you are on the course, you really have to pay attention to your lie, you can chunk or hit it thin if ball above or below your feet. More than likely it's ball below the feet a bit and your not getting down to the ball
