loved the video, right near my old stomping grounds. running into that gate is becoming more common in PA. seems they are closing off more and more of the forest.
Thanks Scott! Yeah, unfortunately the few tend to ruin it for the many. All we can do is be responsible and teach stewardship. Getting involved with TreadLightly! Has given me some hope
I think us Pennsylvanians need to hear that, I tend to get a little jealous of Utah and Colorado and stuff and forget that there’s plenty of beautiful places within a few hours.
Your videos are improving so much over time and are nice and to the point! My buddies and I were right behind you at AOAA last year for a few miles of trails and your XJ is an awesome all-arounder! If there is any way to upload in higher resolutions/clarity, it would really showcase PA's gorgeous trails. A lot of these videos look "greasy" and not super clear visually; hard to say if it is RUclips being greedy and wanting "premium" subscriptions or something else. 1440P+ would be awesome as it seems RUclips is trying very hard to squeeze all they can from the 1080p crowd
Yep that’s in Weiser State Forest around Radar Road. Should be approximately here 40.56368, -76.60210. If you’re interested in full GPS tracks of my adventures that’s something I share on Patreon! There are no tiers how I have it set up, I intend to build it into a tight knit community there, where everyone is welcome and able to join at just $1 a month minimum
Really enjoying the vids! Can't hardly wait to go on adventures with my XJ. Its gunna be great going camping and hunting with once I get everything done on it
Yeah, that area of wiser where you almost got stuck; Gotta be careful with some of that softer mud back there towards the West. Also have you ever followed Berry Rd. to see if it actually lets out at Rte 209?
First time Camping alone is so eerily...Quiet. Did my first solo camp at Shawnee state park in Ohio (which IIRC is a radio quiet zone, no cell reception, in some spots). Just me and a dang screech owl that made itself known in the middle of the night lol.
I’m running 33x11.50 Milestar Patagonia but I’m just starting some upgrades and will have updates soon. I’m doing a bunch of regular behind the scenes updates on Patreon if you’re interested in joining to see that before everyone else!
Always best to look at the specific rules for the area you want to camp, but in general within PA state forests you can camp anywhere that you're not blocking a road, but you can only have a fire in a sanctioned fire pit. The site I stayed at was a reservation site, you just have to call the office and reserve them. There's also a website you can use.
@@DirtRoadTherapy Yes Im very used to getting the reserved pa state forest campsites... just got back from the port clinton tract this past weekend. I was not aware you could camp anywhere else but those sites.
I wouldn’t do it at port Clinton because it’s so small but at the larger forests, if you look up the rules on camping its spelled out, just varies tract to tract or forest to forest a little bit. Some are definitely camping only in designated sites but often you’ll see an obvious sign stating that or it’ll be up on one of those boards you pass as you entire state land
@@DirtRoadTherapyI’m in eastern pa from poconos to Philly. I’m down to drive an hour or two where would uou recommend camping tent style in pa/Delaware with views

Thumbs up for the algorithm! Keep grinding my friend
Thanks dude!
Man, Pennsylvania is so pretty. Epic!
It really is! However, without waxing too poetic, there truly is beauty wherever you look

I still prefer to share camping and adventures first hand with someone else, but it was still a lot of fun!

Awesome! What are the main features of your build?
Glad I get to be your first view! Loving what you're putting out recently man!
That's awesome, I'm glad it was you :-) Thanks for the feedback I greatly appreciate it!
so glad to see another "cooking show"
Haha yeah I don’t break down what I’m cooking that often on here actually

Beautiful area.
Yes it is, thanks!
@@DirtRoadTherapy you have given me see ideas on fire making skills never seen it done like that and I'm going to try it this weekend
@@triplermotorsports61 it’s fun to play around with different fire starting methods when you’re not in a hurry

Yeah it’s definitely a unique experience. I’m not used to being alone with myself for that long haha
Love the video where was this at I’m family with the many state park branches but unfamiliar with where this was
This is all north of Harrisburg. Mostly Weiser State Forest
@@DirtRoadTherapy I’m from Pottsville right next to famous reading outdoors was this by Elysburg?
@@Bushboyle_58 Nope, I believe it’s the Haldeman tract of Weiser

Thanks! Those were 285/70r17 BFG KO2
@@DirtRoadTherapy I thought so. Love your build. Some awesome camping additions as well. Are you running different tires now ?

@DirtRoadTherapy thanks I'll take a look into it !
What diesel do you have in your xj? If it’s the rare factory turbo diesel I would be amazed.!
I swapped the engine to a VW TDI. I’ll be doing a video about my Jeep here soon 😎
Nice ! Do you use onXoffroad ?
I primarily use Gaia
i know were you were good huntting .
i think you are to have a permit to cap there .🤫
Reservations are now done through Reserve America. Link added to description. Thanks for watching!
In by tuscarora forest. I don't think any of there's are free. They have some nice sites
When I made this video sites were free. Now they need to be reserved through Reserve America for a small fee
Great video! We should collaborate.
Thanks Scott! Let’s chat about it soon
Where is this?
Weiser State Forest, Haldeman Tract (roughly near Harrisburg PA)
There are campsites in PA state forests that dont require a permit?
