  • Day 2 of a long weekend in November doing some Central PA overlanding with Tyler and his Trailhawk Cherokee checking out the forest roads and water crossing in Sproul, Susquehannock, and Tioga State Forests. It was chilly, but a great sunny day to bomb around forest roads and see what we could find.

This video just popped up on my feed and I’m glad it did!!! I’ve been living in PA for a little over 6 months. This is why I moved out of NY. Can’t wait to explore more of what this state has to offer. Thanks for the video!

Awesome, ya I have to head to PA, WV, VA for all my fun. Nothing in NY really.

I love and live in Pennsylvania. There should be more roads to 4x4 and camp along the way. Much of the state is private property.

PA is gold compared to NY. Literally everything is locked down in our state. 🙁

Pa does have a lot. but most is closed to the public now. or just gets opened for the hunting season. As per a conservation officer. A good majority of the of the trails and land is closed due to NY and NJ city people come up for summer holidays leave and dump trash reck the trails and lands and the state employees have to clean it up. at the states expense. so, it screws the pa residents and the taxpayers. from access to the lands.. It also hurts people like Darkside off road and his friends from enjoying other states public lands.

@@DarksideOffRoad I need to check out some more of the PA state forests and ANF eventually, so far i have only been to Weiser, Rothrock and Bald Eagle. It's only slightly further to get to Monongahela or George Washington NF for me so I tend to make trips south. But if we get some decent snow I would like ride around and camp ANF in it!

I wish I could do this. I have a nice jeep and I know it can make it. I just don’t want to do it alone for the first time. Sadly I live in Ohio about 2 hours from ANF. I go to Tracey ridge all the time and ministers creek for backpacking trips but this is my dream. Keep uploading videos. Love them.

The “hunting trails” you were on in Sproul State Forest were the Whiskey Springs ATV trails. You would not have gotten on to many of the trails there as they are only wide enough for a side x side.
You could have gotten gas in the lil town of Cross Fork that im pretty sure you passed through to get to the top a the mountain where you turned onto Roush Rd. Or when you got out of the “hunting trails” you could have gone into the town of Renovo as well which is east of those trails. About 10 min once on hard road.
    😁👍

    Thanks for sharing your adventure
I'm so reluctant to do many of these crossings for fear of getting stuck.
I jeep alone.... YEAH with nobody else.... :)
What heater are you using... I'd just pack extra blankets since I have the space in my jeep for them.
You are CRAZY traveling with limited gas....
I wish they would keep the state lands opened for longer. There's areas over on the Eastern side of PA that I'd like to get into.
    Again... thanks for sharing

I love sproul st forest I just hate the law that pa passed a couple of years ago now you can only camp in designated spots and you have to pay when I first started going up to the forest you could camp where you wanted In any state forest now you can only do that in Allegheny national I wish there was someway we could start a petition against it and get it back the way it was they have to keep taking everything from us….great video I’ll be watching more
