    This neko rig is not just a finesse presentation either. If you fish waters with a good population of 4lbs + bass, dont be afraid to upsize everything. I have fished a 12" straight tail worm with quarter oz weight and 15 lbs flouro. Dont catch the numbers like the smaller version but it is a different look and catches quality size fish. Have a little patience and give it a try. Thanks for the info John. Anglers like you help us weekend anglers up our game.

    I fished a 4.5 Quiver on a Neko rig 1/32 oz weight in 4 foot of water, light grass behind a couple of guys tonight and took a 5 plus on my second cast. Stayed on the bank behind this team and took 6 more keepers over the next 30 mins. At the weigh in tonight those guys became NEKO fishermen and 4.5 Quiver fans. Thanks for making such a great bait.

    If you use 2 o-rings crossed in an "X", your hook can easily be rigged perpendicular to the worm. Also, Mustad recently came out with wacky rig o-rings that have a tiny perpendicular loop on one side for you to put your hook through, so you can rig a perpendicular hook much more easily.
    Great video! Thank you! Can't wait to try it out!

    The Ned Bomb in Fishalicious and Sunfish IPA, finesse Carolina rigged on ultralight gear in MO creeks is lights out for smallmouth. The plastic is perfectly buoyant to give it a slow rise on the pause and they can’t stand it. 10 fish on one bait! Love Missile Baits!

    Great video. Logical, well laid out and to the point. Went out with a guide once who did a weightless Texas rigged Senko style plastic. Then on the opposite end, he'd put and 1/8th ounce style Neko type weight with a flat top to it. The theory being that when fishing into think buck brush, cane, etc. the momentum of the cast directs the bait further into the cover and not as apt to pendulum back out of the cover if it was just weightless. It allowed you to get further up into the cover weedlessly due to the direction of force. Thoughts?

    I use an o ring all the time. But your right you will loose fish. The key to it is to bite plastic and not just go under the o ring. That way the hook stays put and isnt able to flop all over the place. Great content sir!

    I’ll have to try your worm. Neko is my new go to, Yum dingers are absolute hammers for this technique, Senko’s and Berkeley generals work well too, but I’m always looking for subtle ways to improve my Neko game. Thanks for the video! Have you caught anything above a four pounder using it, I can’t crack 4lbs on the Neko? But a well full of 4 pounders at weigh-in will cash checks all day. Thanks!

(i have just purchased pretty much everything you mentioned ha ha) I have just got into dropshotting over in the uk fishing for perch, but i was advised to use a 1000 size reel, so i got the shimano vanford 1000 i also use 12lb braid and 8lb flouro leader but could you tell me why you use such a large reel as the 3000 is it just to get further casting distance Thanks

    Great Video John. I have that dropshot rod as well. Just watched KVD Neko video , you both rig same way. Im thinking both your guys ways might be better then what I was taught. Which is whole reason i was doing this search. Too many times when someone like yourself puts forth time and effort to help folks, someone tries to comment and steal thunder. I dont want to do that and would rather ask how did this techique come to light, like whats the back story...could you point me that direction for further research??? Thanks.
    I feel this technique is golden but im anal and wondering why so many rigging options, im gonna try your way. Just wish i had the back story with known facts i could research.

I cannot seem to get the bait drop and stop when it hits the water. after that i use the magnets to stop the spool at the end. when I cast the spool still turns even when I set the magnet. can you give me dome idea how to correct this?

  • @mlucking85
    @mlucking85 2 года назад

    u need an o ring to put on your Neko. most people who use the O ring use it wrong. The way I have caught bass and gotten more bites and still keep my bait on the hook is to slip the hook through O ring and then hook through the wacky worm style. The way most people use the o ring is just by putting the hook through the O ring.
