Definitely need to promote those crossover rings. I have been seeing them marked down and we don’t need them to become obsolete. They work to good! Thanks Ott 👊
I really like your version of Neko rig. I've got all the o rings and clear rings. I had to find the hooks I liked. Weedless is the only way to go for me. I fish a lot of grass and rocks. I drop shot all the time but I tried Neko because I noticed a lot of people doing it around me so I had to change. I even free rig sometimes because of the different presentation. Thanks for sharing this.
Great video Ott. The neko rig is great and comes thru rocks better than the shaky head. Good luck this week down at Stage 3, might be able use that neko rig.
I first used Neko rig a few years ago on Chick. Then I came home and cut a bunch of metal clothes hangers and swiped a bag of my daughters bands for her braces!!! Crazy I know!!! Trouble is the bands would swell from the stuff on the worms!!!
I got to say Otter you have the most beautiful hands. Its like a hand commercial. Just playing with ya bub. My wife told me to give ya shit. Love the content bub keep em coming
I like to rig the weight the opposite way. I put the tip of the weight about 3/4" behind the front of the worm and push it through the front of the worm, so the tip of the weight is sticking out the front. It's especially good if you're using tungsten weights, that tungsten makes a much different sound when you're dragging it over rocks. I've also found that I lose less weights rigging it that way.
Ott, do you ever glue your nail weight in? I skip my wacky rigged worms a lot and seems like if I don't glue it in, it will fly out after a few skips under docks and such. I'm 56 and been fishing since I was big enough to hold on to a Zebco 33 but I've learned so much from your channel and I really enjoy your content. One question, what size hook do you like the best for this application?
Try putting the nail weight in through the side of the worm so the point of the weight comes out the head of the worm. It makes the weight stay in much better and doesn't affect the action at all. Matt Stefan did a good video on it
Hey Ott, Great video and like others here I use the VMC Crossover Rings. However, for me when I use a Senko style lure I don’t get the action I want on the fall. So using just a drop of super glue on a 3/32 nail weight I’ll push it into the worm diagonally just under the hook. I have my hook in the crossover located a little less than center. I use this when a straight Neko setup doesn’t work well or the fish want more of a wacky style if presentation but on a little faster fall. Not sure what that setup might be called, but it has been really effective for me. I haven’t had quite as much success using with a weight of more than 1/16th. Normally the 3/32 seems to be plenty.
Ott have fished this rig for at least the past 4 years. But I have problems with hang ups when fishing brush or downed trees. I use the weedless Neko hooks, still a problem with hang ups. Any tips on fishing brush or downed trees with the Neko rig? This is my go to bait spring thru fall.
Great vid Ott, I will try it Saturday when I fish Lake Eufuala in Alabama, I fish as a Co-Angler, so can I fish this on 8lb line or should I go heavier
Usually do a lot of damage on a Neko but I notice that early spring if I hook into the worm lower down, the fish will only grab the top end of the worm not getting the hook in its mouth. I have had them jump in the air and i can see the hook not in the mouth and they grabbed only the end of the tail. So early spring and spawn i will hook it higher up after the egg sack.
Ott, thanks for the video. Can I cut the ends off of some nails for my weight? Is it still a neko rig if the nail weight is flat on the end or is that called something different?🎣🐟

Thank you!
As always great advice really like how you break things down and show all the good and bad things that can go wrong thank you Ott

Just got some of those crossover pliers for Christmas. Cannot wait to try this technique this season
Good video and tips. I was hoping you'd cover how to fish it. Thanks.
Thanks for the great advice on the Neko rig. Your video style is very informative for us fishing want to be's!

Glad to see Basspro makes a cut tail worm! I'll have to try them out.
It’s really good!
Thanks for the video. I never fished a Nemo rig but I’m gonna try it when I go out in a couple weeks.

Enjoyed the way you break this down ! Thank you 😊
Or later in the yard later detail the detail is pretty sweet thank you for letting me know how to do that

Put a drop of super glue on the nail weight to prevent it from slipping out. Works really well!

Great video and thanks for the in depth reasoning for how you rig it and for the help in saving us worms!!

You can rig it weed less . Similar to Texas rigged worm , except in the middle.
@@tunit8946 that seems similar to the chicken rig.

I will have to check that hook out, I have just been using a regular and can't stand getting hung up 🙄, that might be just what I need 🎣
Works great!

It does happen.
Sense I've learned the neko 3 yrs ago or so I no longer fish ned rigs saves alot of headaches for sure
Thank you Ott if you were to use a spinning outfit what would the set up be? Rod length and power and line type and size? Thanks again and God bless

Thanks Ott i appreciate it i know you use 10 lb braid what lb leader and how long a leader do you use 🙏
Great tip. When do you choose a neko over a shaky head?
By the way Ott, I'll be throwing straight flouro, so should I stay with 8 lb , or go up to 10lb at Eufuala.
Can you make the Sunday service a separate channel, I only want to watch that?
What size of hook do you use? 😎✌️
What color worm was this?
What size hook and brand
👍👍
