    Why hasn't the Captain promoted himself? Shouldn't he be Admiral Anderton by now?
    He's not being career minded.

      Connor Patrick Nolan Music There's no way a captain can be promoted to lieutenant commander. In the Army/Marines/Air Force a captain (O3) would be promoted to a major (O4). In the Navy/Starfleet a captain (O6) is promoted to a rear admiral (lower half).

    When they say "backed by Fender" it essentially means that Fender corporation stands behind the quality of the product.
    It's a pretty common expression for businesses here in the states.

      It is partly that but it is also "designed and backed by" is their way of saying (without saying) that the Fender co. didn't actually build this guitar, they hired another company to build it for them.

    Fender sorted all this out by 2019. Squire Classic Vibe Custom Telecaster® for $450 is Squier's "dearest". Fender Player Telecaster® is Fender's "least dear" at $675. The Player series is MIM. I have no experience with the Teles, but my Fender Player Strat is a dream for me as a new player. I suspect the Telecaster will be just as sweet. (I don't need a Tele. I don't need a Tele. I don't need a Tele. But I do want one now.)

    Am I the only one who is concerned abut the thoughtless attitudes of those vocal individuals who frequent the comment section leaving hateful content? Rob has contributed loads to andertons and has received well earned acclaim but people hate on him and ring a round of applause to anyone else to comes to play in his stead! Recently we were lucky enough for Mary Spender to make an appearance and we welcome her with a barrage of sexist and hateful comments, so much so I doubt she will be back! and now we are all hating on the new guy who as far as I'm concerned is perfectly fine. it seems the comments section has turned into a slanging ground hating on people for the sake of hating on them.

    • @ellelucius
      @ellelucius 7 лет назад +46

      Jonathan Fancett Yeah, it is annoying. They should moderate the comments and delete the worst ones. Regarding Mary's video, I swear every time a woman picks a guitar up, a dude magically appears telling you that you're playing it wrong. I hope she does come back!

      I have to agree with you Jonathan... I watch the videos for a few reasons one is because they are fun. The chemistry between Rob and Captain are entertaining and you can tell they are great friends. They actually provide real life scenarios in decision making when it comes to purchasing a guitar. Rob is a very good guitar player that has become relevant in the music industry. Andertons is a business out to sell guitars I don't know how this helps them but it it tends to help us a lot regarding product knowledge.
      The part that gets me is some people behind a keyboard will say really stupid things they would never tell a person to there face. Not only that they tend to make comments for the reaction which is just as ridiculous. I have been watching these videos for over a year now and I am still enjoying them. Constructive criticism is always warranted but stupidity is not and most of us know it when we read it!
      I have been checking out the Chapman ML-3 Pro Traditional very cool guitar

    I am continually impressed with how much Lee's playing has improved since these videos started. He's always had an ear for a good blues tone, but It really is a joy to listen to the Captain play these days.
    Also, as a regularly gigging musician, the Fender's tonal versatility (and belly cut for "five hour show comfort") would make it the winner for me. The CV guitars are great value if you want a more traditional choice.

    I like how people complain about Rob's playing being too "straight rock," when he's the presenter between these two that's meant to more represent the rock genre. It's the contrast between his rock style and the Captain's blues style that has made this show so successful for so long. So you're literally complaining about him being exactly what he's supposed to be.

    Maybe it's already been said and I'm not the first person to think of this, but I have an idea about why the Squire is more of a Fender than the Fender seems to be: the Squire is a top-of-the-line, authentic Telecaster whereas Fender was just messing around with new ideas (i.e. the pickups, the bridge, the belly-cut on the back, etc). Squire *was* trying to be Fender and Fender was experimenting. But that's just my two cents.

    4:12 Chappers finally admitted the truth :D Also I've played both and the Fender neck is dreadful. The squire was the finest example of a Tele I've ever played. Massively outshines the regular classic vibe teles in my book.

    So the extra £20 is for the fender logo on the headstock

    • @nberrios777
      @nberrios777 4 года назад +6

      Fender is warmer and more clear. Most musicians prefer that..., therefore that explains the extra 20? Or it could be a trick on those Squier owners (who can’t afford a fender) who logically think a high end Squier is better than a low end fender?

    • @suba7320
      @suba7320 4 года назад +8

      Yeah. But the fact that it says Squier on it will also hurt the resale value. A lot. As stupid as that is.

    It's way too late here in the ol' US of A for my brain to make a clever comment on this, so I'll just tell ya'll that I once ate six hot dogs and a fried oreo at a county fair and I accidentally shit an American flag out of my ass.

      @Luke Robinett I have the CVC Tele Rob plays in the vid. Its 12 Years old and it's one of the batch that's made in China. Literally stays in tune like a dream, intonation is good as can be when it's only a 3 saddle bridge. Get a proper tech to set it up for you and it's fine. I dont know about the new Classic Vibes made in Indonesia as people say the quality has dropped. Try to get a Chinese one as those are the ones that have the reputation

    ive recently been going through guitars trying to find the right one, including a MIM Fender Tele and a Squier CV 60s custom tele
    between the MIM Fender player Tele and the Squier CV 60s Custom......I returned the Fender. This Squier hit the spot the moment it came out of the box (literally came in a fckin cardboard box) and is all around far more satisfying then the Fender player, which I actually for once paid to have set up.
    Not that the Fender was bad. The quality was what I'd expect from MIM Player Series but the Squier CV custom tele just feels, plays and looks better than the price suggests. There was an unmistakable bond made the moment I picked the Squier up. I felt like I was having sex with someone I didn't love when I played the MIM fender. The squier makes me feel like I fell head over heels for a cheap whore, shamelessly brought her home to my parents and ended up having her impress everybody
    that analogy probably sucks but this Squier doesn't

    My Squier Joe Trohman Tele also says 'Designed and backed by Fender'. It's one hell of a good guitar, especially now I've put CTS pots in it and got rid of the dark sound it used to have. Neck is to die for. Great jam to start this video guys.
