Why hasn't the Captain promoted himself? Shouldn't he be Admiral Anderton by now?
He's not being career minded.
No admiral without a fleet. He needs to open up a few more shops first. ;-)
PeteW. Well actually, he’d be a Lieutenant Commander
Connor Patrick Nolan Music There's no way a captain can be promoted to lieutenant commander. In the Army/Marines/Air Force a captain (O3) would be promoted to a major (O4). In the Navy/Starfleet a captain (O6) is promoted to a rear admiral (lower half).
He can't be promoted because he is not a real Captain.
Since someone took it to a literal place.
Can’t see action as an admiral
Lee's playing lately has been top notch
XxHarounXx Seriously. I remember when I first found their videos a little more than a year ago, and Lee looked like he was in 'learning' mode. Now, he's Owning. Impressive. I hope to make such progress.
It's great to hear him kick out in his style. He's probably always been a great player but surrounded by shredder dudes and djont monsters it's kind of difficult to get a note in edge-ways.
Yeah, I agree. Great job, Lee! You've really improved a lot, and I'm proud of you!
Both players in top form. Excellent work. Appreciated.
You noticed too? I've come back to their videos after a year and half and I've noticed he has improved quite a bit.
When they say "backed by Fender" it essentially means that Fender corporation stands behind the quality of the product.
It's a pretty common expression for businesses here in the states.
lol holding Squier out at arms length.
It is partly that but it is also "designed and backed by" is their way of saying (without saying) that the Fender co. didn't actually build this guitar, they hired another company to build it for them.
Captain is killing it in the intro! Don´t care how much he underestimates his own playing. He rocked the vibe in this one!
I absolutely swear by the Classic Vibe range. Great guitars. Even with both of these being pretty much the same price, I think I'd still take the Squier.
You can buy these cv Squiers for 250 euro secondhand. Cheap as. It's worth keep buying them in storage and in 20 years you can be sitting on something ☺
Just played a cv 70s strat and tele and compared it to the fender player series, vintera and performer. They are great and even felt better than the player and vintera.
but it isn’t a real fender
@@CupofCloud Leo Fender died years ago, they're ALL copies at this point!
No goop is always a good thing.
It's Chappers and The Captain, they're the lads, quit hating on them.

Damn fine opening jam gentlemen. Chappers, I LOVE the fact that you turned on the blues and turned off the shreddtasticness.
Captain... all I can say is wow... you seriously brought your game today!! Very Nice!!
No video is complete without shredding!
Whoever edits these deserves an oscar.
"DSDMAMDP" sounds like an Inanez model name.
I think it's staggering how much Capt. Lee's playing has improved over the years. I want more close-ups of his right hand please, I think he might well be using the pick of destiny!
+spngrm ha ha - I've been rumbled!!
Fender sorted all this out by 2019. Squire Classic Vibe Custom Telecaster® for $450 is Squier's "dearest". Fender Player Telecaster® is Fender's "least dear" at $675. The Player series is MIM. I have no experience with the Teles, but my Fender Player Strat is a dream for me as a new player. I suspect the Telecaster will be just as sweet. (I don't need a Tele. I don't need a Tele. I don't need a Tele. But I do want one now.)
I have a player tele and I love it....you sure you don't need one? From the sounds of it you already know how great it's going to be lol
you need a tele
No, you need a tele. Everyone needs a tele.
Last time i was this early, Chappers was an ESP artist :) love your content guys, Cheers!
Caerwyn Deathwhisp Wait Chappers was an ESP artist?
The Inebriati yea way back in the day before he started chapman :) i dont remember exactly but i think it was like 4 years or so ago
Yeah way back in the day like 4 years. Those were the days! Don't mind me, I'm just being a grumpy old man.
But chapman guitars is like 5 years old.
Last time you were this early you were jizz on the wall
I have ordered a Squier Limited Edition Bullet Telecaster in Lake Placid Blue and a Fender Mustang I V.2 20W Amp to start my journey learning guitar at almost 50 years old. The videos you folks post are the best videos going when it comes to guitars and amps, keep up the great work and thank you!
Luke Pace I have that Squier Bullet Telecaster lake placid blue and it’s awesome . A really good guitar after a set up .
A good choice of guitar & amp from what I've researched. I considered a Squier but ended up getting an Epiphone LP because I wanted the humbuckers. I'm excited to learn on it! Still shopping for amps but considering the Boss Katana Mini.
you have a guitarists name...if your name was John Smith I'd tell you to forget it
Am I the only one who is concerned abut the thoughtless attitudes of those vocal individuals who frequent the comment section leaving hateful content? Rob has contributed loads to andertons and has received well earned acclaim but people hate on him and ring a round of applause to anyone else to comes to play in his stead! Recently we were lucky enough for Mary Spender to make an appearance and we welcome her with a barrage of sexist and hateful comments, so much so I doubt she will be back! and now we are all hating on the new guy who as far as I'm concerned is perfectly fine. it seems the comments section has turned into a slanging ground hating on people for the sake of hating on them.
Jonathan Fancett Yeah, it is annoying. They should moderate the comments and delete the worst ones. Regarding Mary's video, I swear every time a woman picks a guitar up, a dude magically appears telling you that you're playing it wrong. I hope she does come back!
Jonathan Fancett It's justified to be concerned about a bunch of mindless idiots, whose craving to fill a sad, bottomless void in their lives leads them to troll a RUclips channel. Haters gonna hate, morons gonna be morons.
I have to agree with you Jonathan... I watch the videos for a few reasons one is because they are fun. The chemistry between Rob and Captain are entertaining and you can tell they are great friends. They actually provide real life scenarios in decision making when it comes to purchasing a guitar. Rob is a very good guitar player that has become relevant in the music industry. Andertons is a business out to sell guitars I don't know how this helps them but it it tends to help us a lot regarding product knowledge.
The part that gets me is some people behind a keyboard will say really stupid things they would never tell a person to there face. Not only that they tend to make comments for the reaction which is just as ridiculous. I have been watching these videos for over a year now and I am still enjoying them. Constructive criticism is always warranted but stupidity is not and most of us know it when we read it!
I have been checking out the Chapman ML-3 Pro Traditional very cool guitar
Jonathan Fancett i like rob as a person and enjoy his demos I just believe his tone and licks to be rather uninspired
Fantastic player though
This is some of Rob's best playing on the channel. Brought it out back and buried it on the opening jam.
Dearest Squeir, I'm writing this letter..........
… just to confuse my autocorrect … ;op
Last time I was this early Rob still had dreadlocks

I am continually impressed with how much Lee's playing has improved since these videos started. He's always had an ear for a good blues tone, but It really is a joy to listen to the Captain play these days.
Also, as a regularly gigging musician, the Fender's tonal versatility (and belly cut for "five hour show comfort") would make it the winner for me. The CV guitars are great value if you want a more traditional choice.
That's actually the best solo I've ever heard from Captain Lee..
That opening jam though! Wow! When Rob decides to play Rock/blues few can touch him. Seriously badass.
Some absolutely sweet sweet guitar playing from both in this video - lovely stuff :)
Love the jamm at the end , beautifully done. Enjoyed whole video too. Great work 😁
I always love listening to Rob and Lee jamming together. Sounded beautiful in this video!
That's probably the best intro jam you have done nice work !
Man, they both sound really, really good. I especially loved when The Captain took his turn ripping it up, at the end.
I love your guys' videos! Always hilarious and goofy with the video editing, yet informative (and entertaining). I always have a blast watching your vids. :D
Yet again another great video, just love them! Super guitar playing guys!
Hey, that intro jam was absolutly incredible wtf!
Last year as I was getting back into playing after 20 yrs off, my choice was between exactly these two guitars. I ended up with the Fender and I am still very happy with my pick. I like the multiple sounds I can get from the 3 P/U's and the 5 way switching. The classic vibe is also great and I would recommend either to anyone. Best value under $500.
Yes!! been waiting for this video for ages!!! more of this please captain Lee
Knowing the rig setup especially when comparing guitars would be helpful. Thanks fellas for your vids. Always (mostly) entertaining!
Rob KILLING the intro Jam . Henrik Freischlader vibes...
Ashley Mann cheers bro :-)
Aye. I truly enjoyed that into.
4 minutes in and Lee is talking about porn, you know it's going to be a good video

I like these comparison videos. Great intro too, you both look like you're having too much fun!
There was magic happening in this vid. THE JAMS MAN! The jams.......You two were tugging at my heart strings. Cheers lads
That Classic Vibe sounds F'king incredible!!!!!
I agree with Rob about the 3 saddle bridge. I know that the purists love them, but I'm keen to fit one with 6 strat style saddles on mine.
Great vid, just awesome playing from both of you. Capt your playing is sooo sweet now!
Every video the sound better than the last! Keep up the good work!
Next challenge......the Captain plays standing up!
I shows the enormous bang for the buck the Classic vibe series is . i agree with Rob ,I tried the Chinese Fender creations & much prefer the classic vibe series .
Theyre made in the same factory! 😂
Just from watching the video and without actually playing both I'd have to say I like the Fender Modern Player Telecaster best! It sounds and looks awesome. It seems really versatile with more pickups and tonal options. Looks to be more comfortable to play as well with the rounded body and belly carve. Great video and playing! Thanks!
Love the intro and outro jams, Lee your playing in that outro was amazing! Also, very surprised at how great that neck pickup sounded at 14:58. May have to have a browse at these squiers as im in the market for another tele!
Its 3am in California, but its definitely worth the lack of sleep to see one of these videos.
SharkPoint
Same
I like how people complain about Rob's playing being too "straight rock," when he's the presenter between these two that's meant to more represent the rock genre. It's the contrast between his rock style and the Captain's blues style that has made this show so successful for so long. So you're literally complaining about him being exactly what he's supposed to be.
I am amazed by the creativity you guys show by doing the same video in different ways.
Wow awesome jam guys!!! You guys killed it!
the captain progresses a lot with his playing imo thats awesome
Lee totally killing it with that solo in the opening jam. Excellent stuff.
Rhythm too actually.
You guys are the best! Not only are your videos informative and even educational but with the bantering between you they are greatly humorous. Have you every done a comparison of 12-string guitars? Would love to see your review. Thanks!
I have the fender in charcoal transparent. It is incredibly versatile. I’ve since upgraded the pickups with a Nocaster Tele, CS Texas Special Strat, and Super Distortion Humbucker. Added stacked volume knobs and replaced the neck with a channelbound Tele with locking tuners. It’s my #1 for sure
That outro jam was honestly the best I've ever heard from Rob and lee
This was actually "These Days" by Bon Jovi but they took it a whole level up.
For me, Having played both: The Modern Player is a great salespitch, The Vintage Vibe is what I'd bring to a gig.
Fun video. I love what Fender/Squier is doing with these guitars and love to hear them played like you guys did. Can't believe Rob complained about the neck on a guitar, he played with such finesse. The jamming was on fire.
Dr. G
I love that super countess! Great playing rob!!! Also lee you're playing like a mad man! Love this channel!
fuck me how good is Lee now?! I haven't watched one of their videos for ages and he sounds better than chappers in the beginning there, so much attitude and dynamics in his playing.
I thought exactly the same... You can see in every video how Lee admires Rob's technique, which is outstanding btw. But in this one, I liked much more the way he played the Fender!
I have a 2014 Modern Player pretty much exactly like that one and I love it. The variety of sounds I can get from it without any pedals at all is amazing. My only complaint is the knobs. They're pretty, but they don't tell me where I'm set. So I put Strat knobs on it instead. Hey, it's my guitar, I can do what I want with it! ::)
Been watching ur videos for approx 1 1/2 years now and Lee ur playing has improved. A lot! Well done. All the best
best solo work for both of you....you made me travel with this...Tnx!!
Maybe it's already been said and I'm not the first person to think of this, but I have an idea about why the Squire is more of a Fender than the Fender seems to be: the Squire is a top-of-the-line, authentic Telecaster whereas Fender was just messing around with new ideas (i.e. the pickups, the bridge, the belly-cut on the back, etc). Squire *was* trying to be Fender and Fender was experimenting. But that's just my two cents.
That jam was perfection I put it on my toast.
Excellent jam guys!!!!! Love it! Nice playing capt!!!
Another good video! I love your videos
Beautiful playing by the Captain!
For me that was one of the best opening jams with Rob n Lee since I've been watching the channel, I was just listening in and more than once I had to look back to check who was playing what. I wonder if it's the Telecasters influencing the pair of them with it being that staple of guitar players all over.
and that wasn't a sneaky dis at either of them. Just they were both in the same zone for it.
I like these comparison videos, please keep doing them.
Thanks guys! I was wondering this exact thing!
4:12 Chappers finally admitted the truth :D Also I've played both and the Fender neck is dreadful. The squire was the finest example of a Tele I've ever played. Massively outshines the regular classic vibe teles in my book.
So the extra £20 is for the fender logo on the headstock
Fender is warmer and more clear. Most musicians prefer that..., therefore that explains the extra 20? Or it could be a trick on those Squier owners (who can’t afford a fender) who logically think a high end Squier is better than a low end fender?
Yeah. But the fact that it says Squier on it will also hurt the resale value. A lot. As stupid as that is.
@@suba7320 A simple neck replacement could probably fool most people.
@@featheryfemme that would be fraud if you were to sell it on as a fender.
Jupiter James-Reynolds don’t think I said I would.
Awesome jam at the end of the video guys
I love the little editing flourishes Rory puts in these videos.
my friend owns the Classic Vibe Tele, i'm gonna try some stuff whn i go to some music stores this saturday
God I think I just fell in love with that Fender... I'm gonna buy it as soon as I can. Fucking hell it sounds amazing!
So, did you actually buy one or were you talking smack? It's been a year now.
Chappers you're playing was at its usual greatness and Capt'n I've been watching for years and you're playing gets better and better. You're absolutely awesome. You opening jam was fantastic! Cheers from America
More fine work. Thank you.
That intro jam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8:13 Who edits these 😂 it's great
Loving the jamming!!
that last jam of the video was class A stuff guys, awesome! much love from the U.S.
It's way too late here in the ol' US of A for my brain to make a clever comment on this, so I'll just tell ya'll that I once ate six hot dogs and a fried oreo at a county fair and I accidentally shit an American flag out of my ass.
plot twist: the hot dogs were charcoal-grilled
Plot twist: The Oreo was Double Stuffed
@@vonicrimson3619 plot twist: the American flag was Liberian.

I personally really enjoy Rob's playing but I can understand why people are complaining. People who didn't like him could just come to this channel and still get Andertons videos but without Rob, but now thats not really an option anymore.
It doesn't bother me though I like Rob.
Jacob Goodman they don't have to watch every video posted. if they don't like a presenter they can choose not to watch videos eaturing them.
One of the best jams on this channel, good shit
you gotta love these guys , good video !
I have the Squire Classic Vibe Telecaster. It's great!.
@Luke Robinett I have the CVC Tele Rob plays in the vid. Its 12 Years old and it's one of the batch that's made in China. Literally stays in tune like a dream, intonation is good as can be when it's only a 3 saddle bridge. Get a proper tech to set it up for you and it's fine. I dont know about the new Classic Vibes made in Indonesia as people say the quality has dropped. Try to get a Chinese one as those are the ones that have the reputation
ive recently been going through guitars trying to find the right one, including a MIM Fender Tele and a Squier CV 60s custom tele
between the MIM Fender player Tele and the Squier CV 60s Custom......I returned the Fender. This Squier hit the spot the moment it came out of the box (literally came in a fckin cardboard box) and is all around far more satisfying then the Fender player, which I actually for once paid to have set up.
Not that the Fender was bad. The quality was what I'd expect from MIM Player Series but the Squier CV custom tele just feels, plays and looks better than the price suggests. There was an unmistakable bond made the moment I picked the Squier up. I felt like I was having sex with someone I didn't love when I played the MIM fender. The squier makes me feel like I fell head over heels for a cheap whore, shamelessly brought her home to my parents and ended up having her impress everybody
that analogy probably sucks but this Squier doesn't
thanks for doing teles! more teles! strats have been often guests at your channel already. cheers!
My favourite intro jam from all the videos yet!🤘
Are you going to do a video of the G&L guitars you carry?
I LOVE ROB'S PLAYING!
Both sound great. One of my fav guitars you guys have played through the victory amps.
Only answer it to buy them both. I just bought an american tele used tonight. I was looking at buying a classic vibe tele next. I've played them before, but they weren't setup the best.
Finally they did this video! I've been waiting so long for this one. I like Lee's style of playing better, but they are both really cool.
Those first 3 minutes was probably their best ever intro.
Acoustasonic vid
Lee sounded inspired in that opening jam.
That intro jam was awesome! Nothing better than two musicians enjoying playing together.
Best solo I've heard yet from the Captain! Great stuff fellas. Still have an old Squier from the 80's and love it!
The Captains playing seems to have taken a bit of a leap forward. Sounding great. Have you been practising?
Am I the only one who really likes how Lee Anderton plays these days? IMO he greatly improved over the last years.
The comments section agrees with you. He's come a long way.
Great jam at the beginning - lovely.
My Squier Joe Trohman Tele also says 'Designed and backed by Fender'. It's one hell of a good guitar, especially now I've put CTS pots in it and got rid of the dark sound it used to have. Neck is to die for. Great jam to start this video guys.
