Thanks Paul. He enjoyed racing and making films of racing. I think as a racer himself the whole paddock respected him and knew he would do a fair film.
I love the footage of the fields in the car lots. All those Sprites VW'S and English Fords. These videos are just great ..the music🎵🎶 is so 1960's...t y...
The music is as much a part of the charm for me, especially the cha cha sort of sounding number played a few times through, including at the end of the big sports car race at Brands. Fantastic stuff.
Hello, What a memorable time that the sixties are, all of that doesn't make us any younger, I still have so much fun to discover or rediscover this motorsport season. Thank you for sharing, for making me vibrate once again ....👍 👍
I was one year old when this was filmed, but was out in boonies at Dingle Dell at Brands Hatch last couple of weekends, amazing how the track is basically the same, but theres either a lot more trees or a lot less trees depending on where you are.
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful film. I attend most events at Brands Hatch and the club events are still some of the most enjoyable weekends. It's wonderful to see Brands from that time, I remember going there and to Crystal Palace with my Father as a very young boy.
Thank you so much for sharing your fathers passion. I cannot explain how much these films are appreciated in this simple format. What i can do is express my gratitude towards yourself and your father, indeed your entire family because i am sure this was difficult for you.
Thanks for pointing out this video. Not only is our car in it, but your dad actually mentions our car starting at 18:19 "Parks helps to make a sandwich out of one of the back markers." That back marker is our car, driven by Pat Hovenden in a 1962 Elva MKVI, in Redstone Racing team colors (dark red with light blue stripe).
@@HamishRacing So who was David Roscoe? Other than your father? You said he raced until 1959 then started the films. Was it just for fun? Did he also film for a living? Was he partial to BRSCC? Was he always funny? Seems he liked to have fun with the marshals. I wonder if he knew our man Pat Hovenden. Pat was known as a "gentleman racer" who did a Lotus 11, then the Elva, then an Atilla. Lots of BRSCC races. His family owned a company that made tiles (Redstone Tile) and he was on the board of a VW dealership.
That transporter at the end. At 40mph of course it's safe. You wouldn't in those days get vosa visiting a paddock area to check the weight capacity of a tail lift. Simpler better days.
It was around this time that the first meeting was held at Croft, a much larger than expected crowd turned up, security wasn’t up to much so it was alleged that the staff on the pay booths did quite well on the day....
This was fantastic. Who was Mike Park. Must’ve been quite a driver. He could handle that black 250 gto in the wet. If only they knew what that car would be worth today
A40 Farinas were very competitive. There was a very fast one that raced in the hands of George Armstrong at Westmead near Durban, South Africa in 1962 Mike Parks showing class beating Graham Hill and Innes Ireland
Hey, I've just seen the Wavenden Wombat. I used to see this car at Snetterton, back in the day.
A good warm up film for goodwood members meeting this weekend 🎉
This is fantastic
Thanks. my dad would be pleased it’s still being enjoyed.
What a great era. Thanks to your Dad for doing these at the time.

Fantastic set of films.
Thanks. Dad would be very pleased people are still enjoying his work. Thank you.
What oh!! Love these original films. Lovely to see the circuits as they were back then
Nice to see the breadvan. And it's still racing.
Stonking ! My brother had a BMW 700 coupe ...700 cc 2 cylinder bike engine but a pocket rocket ! Over a ton ! Thanks .
The lotus is frying tonight and gets a quick repaint with a fire extinguisher... superb....
Another fantastic film! Your Dad had a great sense of humour and made really interesting films. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you. He would appreciate that you enjoyed his films.
A snapshot of history.. Absolutely top hole don`t you know !❤

I want to go back in time! Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😂🇬🇧
Isn’t that the truth. I believe Goodwood is the closest we can get to going back in time for racing. Or a VSCC meeting.
My dad loves this❤
There are a few more on my Chanel like this. My dad made them. Your dad may enjoy those too 👍😀
Thanks. I like the commentary 'the special - the oil companies friend'.
EXCELLENT and TYPICAL british🤩
Thank you very much🐶
Pure nostalgia. The early M1, Oulton Park without chicanes, and the crowd on South Bank. Wish I still had my BRSCC anorak.

Thank you. Dad just wanted people to enjoy what he had a passion for. That was life long in the end.
Great stuff. Thank you.
A great film from a great time
I loved " Roger Pensk" by the very British commentator!
Love the commentary - so 1960’s
Im hooked on this stuff now, wonderful. E Types everywhere LOL.
I see the "BUY 12" reg # there and the "BUY 1" on the car that racers at Goodwood.

Happy to help.

This is already in the public domain and gives just a little peak as to what he did.

Herrliche Musìc .❤❤
Charming 😅
Chris Craft already in an Anglia. 10 years later I was signalling to him at Le Mans!

Can you please put many more of these on RUclips? What a great film! I love seeing the Lotus Sevens race. Thanks.
will do Mike. a mix of my racing ones and dads "proper" films
I feel like every one of these I watch, I get a little more British
Sorry about that 🤣🤣🤣
I don't always work on my car myself, but when I do I do it in my finest wool suit.
but of course doesn't everyone 😀
Also, Graham Capel was a Redstone Racing teammate. I think he might be in his Sebring Sprite at 12:43 and 12:59.
am sure that tune at 4 min was the tune the body builder on opportunity knocks used ti use , aye !
Wonder how some of today's F1 drivers would make of this style of racing
Its better than the crap we see these days..
😴
Roger penske thats the indy 500 owner
Hey, people! What are those tube/cylindrical/oval cars called?
Just wondering why there’s never any footage from Snetterton. It was always a predominately BRSCC Circuit.
Can’t answer that one I’m afraid.
Lightweight Jag at 10:43?
Probably just an XKE ?
Gosh... who writes the script?? And whop chooses the doopy-doopy doo music?
This 'old style' of sarcastic commentating is quiet annoying in my opinion.
This was a time before racing became such an intense, corporate-dominated affair. This is a club film for folks who raced for fun.
@@glendrine many still do. I see them at the club meetings at Brands Hatch. Racing on a shoestring! Always great meetings and fun to watch!
Minis? Yawn...
