So many wonderful memories, to me it really was the golden age, Nowadays, alas, I only get to race about in an electric wheelchair, Thank you so much for the up load
We weren't there. You were. Please take some comfort in that. Having lived in Thornton Heath, just around the corner from Crystal Palace until recently, it is hard to believe racing ever took place there. However I do believe pianos and other , er , unwanted, furniture is still burnt there, if only to destroy the evidence. A less noble motive , but with the same effect.
anyone else here old enough to remember the board game Formula One ?.... this is so great to watch , thanks for sharing it. PS still have the board game from the early 60's.
Hamish Racing such a pleasure to watch, we are lucky your father put so much time and effort into these now historical documents/ many thanks for uploading them
If one watches carefully ,in the background at the 20:43 mark, the cameraman is focusing on the turn in the foreground, but in the background an orange car spins and then overturns.
Help me! I cant' stop chortling at the wonderfully quirky comic touches but nothing shocked me quite as much as spotting the interloper Ford Anglia in there among the E-Types and SWB Ferrari Berlinettas. Watch 2:40
thanks Frank for the clarification - i think it was in its MRD ( Motor Racing Developments Ltd) the Jack Brabham / Ron Tauranac designed cars- the name before it became known as Brabham.
Cool. 👍 The marshalls and cameramen were fearless too. 😁
The humour in the commentry is wonderfully of it's time. The music also adds greatly to capturing the era.
Another piece of 60's motor racing, Love these old clips.
These films are amazing! Thank you for the trip down memory lane.

One thing that was evident from those times is the none of the Marshalls or track supporters were worried about getting run over😂
Different times, somehow more relaxed

@@vvoodee across the river yes.
I love the joshing commentary, a cross between 6th form humour and Monty Python. Great stuff.
Thanks. Dad would be very pleased people can still enjoy them. And humour years before Monty Python!!
Many thanks.
Fantastic

Well spotted👍 even I haven’t spotted that before. These are films where you notice different things every time you watch them.
A rolling Moss gathers no Stirling...
14.30: The MRD being the forerunner to the Brabham marque. And the driver? I believe it was Tasmanian Gavin Youl.
25 .32 . Was that a kiss ?

Thanks Roger
Dad would be very chuffed that people still enjoy his films.
Excuse me. Do you know your piano's on fire?
No, but if you whistle the first couple of bars, I'll pick it up.
There were no Brabham cars in 1961.

Another 20 million people in the UK since this was recorded and the root cause of all the problems existing today in 2021 fact.
How very true.
From a longer perspective, the commentary is incredibly embarrassing. It's not sixth form, we were better that. It's about third form.
