- This is my first time watching, reacting, and providing commentary to season 2 episode 8 of Gravity Falls "Blendin's Game." I hope you enjoy it! Expect Gravity Falls reactions almost every Tuesday and Friday!
Gravity Falls follows the adventures of Dipper Pines (voiced by Jason Ritter) and his twin sister Mabel (voiced by Kristen Schaal) who are sent to spend the summer with their great-uncle (or "Grunkle") Stan (voiced by Hirsch) in Gravity Falls, Oregon, a mysterious town full of paranormal incidents and supernatural creatures. The kids help Stan run "The Mystery Shack", the tourist trap that he owns, while also investigating the local mysteries.

Thanks for clicking on the video and watching folks! Remember to like the video, and if you feel like it, leave a comment! Also, please be considerate and not post spoilers or hints to future episodes. I would hate for any of the big mysteries and twists be revealed to me before I see them myself. I would appreciate it and thanks again!

Stan (accidentally) becoming a father figure for Soos is just so sweet.
I mean... He cared about Soos enough to try to remove the date from the calendar. This is just cute.
So true
A fun fact about Soos's infinite pizza is that he can command it to have different toppings and they appear.
Best wish just got even greater haha
It's kind of sweet Stan wanted to cheer Soos up by having the date of his birthday removed from calendars. It's a very... Stan way to help, but he was trying to be considerate.
Anyway, I really like this episode too. It gives Soos some much needed depth, explains why he sees Stan as a father figure and why he loves the Mystery Shack so much. Also, seeing Gravity Falls in the past was lots of fun. And I don't know if you noticed, but Stan was actually in the middle of the grand opening of the... (dramatic pause) Wax Museum! I love the callbacks in this show.
“I’m just going to keep stammering until you find them. I-I-I-I-I-“ *Pure Justin Roiland moment*
Blendin agreeing that infinite pizza is a good time wish, is so funny :D
omg I know! I also loved that
Fun fact: The handyman Stan fired in the credit scene is Deputy Durland, one of the two cops that show up all the time. Obviously he's not a cop yet in this scene, it's pretty interesting how much his life changed after Stan fired him
Oh wow I didn't even realize! That's wild
Deputy Durland is voiced by Keith Ferguson, who also voiced Bloo in Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends.
@indev1nitely I didn’t know that.
@indev1nitely wow...... really...dudes got talent
He’s also Marluxia in Kingdom Hearts.
Honestly one of the worst things about Soos's dad is that he calls him "Champ" in the postcard likely because he doesn't even remember his name. It breaks my heart.
Ugh that would be so heartbreaking if that were the case :(
I hadn't actually thought of that - I wouldn't be surprised and that adds a layer of heartbreak to an already sad situation.
The creators were initially going to have Soos be called by his full name but Disney veto-ed that (but that just led to people thinking his name was Zeus instead).
There's a few panels and interviews where Alex talked a bit more about Soos and Stan's relationship. "They both kind of found each other accidentally. I imagine probably in the first week of having this little kid work for him, Stan-you know, even though he acted like a gruff jerk, was secretly happy to kinda have someone who looked up to him for once in his life, and Soos was happy to have someone who would listen to him and tell him what to do, some kind of father figure. And even though Stan is the worst possible father figure, his heart’s in the right place and Soos is somebody who only sees your heart. He sees the best in everyone."
In the commentary for Time Traveler's Pig he also confirms that the screwdriver Stan was looking for is the same one that led Soos to getting his job so Stan treasuring it is super adorable.
Ugh yeah that is incredibly adorable. This show is so good at things like that
@@MikeyVenture It's honestly really cute rewatching the series and seeing characters casually refer to Soos as being part of the family too
Why would Disney censor the name Jesús?
@@andreagarciacubilla8678I'm guessing some religious people would take offense to somebody with the same name as that other Jesus, even though Jesús is a pretty common name in some places here in South America. Idk Disney was against the weirdest things when it came to this show.
The thing about Soos meeting Stan when he was a kid and had that happy facce afterwards. He actually started to see him as a father figure
It really does explain so much in regards to how Soos views Stan
Watching Mike mentally adopt all these kids has definitely been the best part of this series, haha. Very sweet.
Haha I just think they’re really great
This is definitely my favourite episode out of the entire show. Mad respect to Mabel and Dipper for risking their lives just so Soos can see his dad again, and he doesn't even use the wish to see him. Soos is the best, that's why his first name is Jesus
W comment
"Whoever my dad was, he can take a hike. I know who my real family is, and it's you dudes." Bro, I don't think I've ever been this close to crying at an animated series before...
I lose it every time Blendin won't stop stammering until they're found.🤣
Stan’s old intern is Deputy Durland! How did I realize so much over the last few episodes?!
Also this is a top tier episode.
I love how nonchalant you are about Blendan. 10 squared is 100 so because they stole his stuff he was sentenced to 100 life sentences and you say "get over it" lol🤣
Fun Fact: The different backgrounds that Blendin's suit turns into at 5:22 are settings in future episodes. The same thing happened with his suit in The Time Traveler's Pig. It was fun speculating what and where the next episodes took place
I just love how this episode confirms that Stan has been with Soos since he was a kid, so cute!
This was such a good episode, because Soos is always there for them, driving them around, fighting, just being a supporting character ;3; I’m so happy for him!
Soos is seriously such a good dude. I love how much he cares about all of them
The crew who worked on this show is amazing, I'd love to shake hands with the ones who created the idea for Time Baby
Time Baby is everything!
When I watched this ep for the first time and the time cops muted Blendin I went "THANK YOU!!"
I think many of us exclaimed the same thing 😂
Really love this episode! One funny thing I noticed in the gravity falls 10 years in the past is that you can see Gideon's family in the background and see his mom happy. Man that was before that child turn into devil and traumatize his mother 😆
Another good episode. And it’s another Soos episode! Can’t go wrong with that. Soos’s backstory is honestly really sad but it was really cool the parallel with the vending machine trick where Soos said a “genius taught be that once”, and then we go back and see that Mabel taught the trick to little Soos. Wait I’m not spoiling anything right? Because these were prerecorded right? I hope I’m not spoiling it.
This is all prerecorded don't worry
@@rainbowangel5264 I figured I was just making sure I wasn’t spoiling😅
Fun Fact: When Blendin tries to fix his body, there's always some images of the next episodes! Haha
Because his name is the Latino pronunciation of Jesus, im betting that as a kid he thought everyone was saying hey soos and thats how he got his nickname.
It's legitimately a great nickname
If I ever meet a Jesús, I'll call them Soos
Honestly, probably my favorite episode of Gravity Falls. It's tragic and heartening at the same time, and plenty funny in the parts it needs to be. Such a damn good episode.
It covers all bases really. The drama and comedy were handled and balanced very well
Stan can pretend to not care for apps all he wants but him trying to get his birthday removed from the calendar just because it makes him sad tells us everything we need to know :)
Since I learned that the same guy voiced Blendin Blendin voiced Lemongrab too, I just can't get this picture out of my head:
"You let those kids escape?! When I need justice?! This...This is.... *UNACCEPTABLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* "
Ngl I'd be hella funny of Mabel actually does end up being his gamgam
and Mabel is probably the reason Toby's dream goes no where
(also interesting time loop, Mabel learnt the vending trick for Soos who learnt it from Mabel)
This episode also really explains about why Soos idolizes Stan so much too
How does the episode read your mind like that?? That's twice in a row now lmao
It’s been happening a little too much lately 😂
This is such a fun episode ! A piece of foreshadowing before this episode is that when we see the outside of Soos' house, there's a burnt tree stump, from when the time guard guys shot at a tree in the past :))
Fun fact: Blendin was voiced by the same guy who voiced Lemongrab from adventure time
And Morty from Rick and Morty.
@@morganspider-manmarvelfan6110 And Rick!
@@Rudromukherjeenerv Yup.
I love how much time they take to focus on other characters and flesh them out! Soos episodes are so good!
Also in case you didn't know, Alex Hirsch has a podcast like thing that you can find on spotify where he goes trough every episode together with some other people who worked on the show as well as voice actors like Jason Ritter and Kristen Schaal! Its super fun to listen to! So if you feel like it and have the time i totally recommend it! When you're done watching the show of course since they talk about big spoilers in it.
Cant wait to see this next reaction! :D
Omg thanks so much I didn’t know about this! This will be so cool to listen to!!
I don't know if it's the writers knowing their audience, or manipulating their audience to have those thoughts in the first place. XD
Combination of both probably haha
Why are you guys against Blendin? He was imprisoned for years because Dipper was chasing Wendy. I get that he has an annoying voice, but his revenge is justified, his life was ruined by the twins
This episode just explained why Soos sees Stan as his father figure and wants to get adopted by him, and it makes sense, he never had a father figure
So after re-watching this episode I realized something: The skinny cop dude has always been kind of dim. Hence him getting fired by Stan in the flashback. He must have joined the force after that. However I still hold firm that the memory ray from the previous episode made him even worse mentally. lol
Yes the show can read your mind. It's inside your house right now. You'll see it in your mirrors.
This was a really fun episode XD
I loved seeing the town - them figuring out they could mute Blendin, the slap bracelets ref and just everything XD
To be fair everyone wanted to mute Blendin at about there so :P
The slap bracelets mention was gold!
I like how Soos sees Stan as a father figure.
Fun fact: Evey time Blendin time travels, his hair catches on fire and that's why he's bald.
Mabel screaming death always makes me laugh
Kid soos is just so adorable, truly a great episode
this is my favorite episode, I love the family theme to it, it just warms my heart.
It’s amazing how they turned into a legit family. And it’s so earned and feels very realistic
I love how as soon as soos shows the infinite pizza blendin Blandin goes frome screaming to calmly saying "oh yeah, thats a good time wish" this show is just so funny
Blenden got 100 life sentences.
11:30, It was at this moment when I realized, “OMG THATS LEMONGRAB!!!!”
I love Soos so much. Almost as much as a never-ending slice of pizza.
you have know idea how happy Ibecame ever time I see you post a new gravity falls react!
Ahhh that makes me happy! I love reacting to the show
I relate so much with soos on the father thing....cuz I grew up without a father. So seeing that soos found his family to the people that's not related to him is nice. Thank god none of us listen to our parent/s when they said to never talk to strangers, cuz we wouldn't have made any friends that turns into family then hahaha

OMG people in the live chat stop saying things like 'the opening changes' - that's something you're supposed to see for yourself as a surprise. It's not hard to avoid saying stuff and let a reactor react organically. It's not a huge thing but it's still somewhat frustrating when you can't say much and you can't really address it without calling attention to it. I'm glad Mikey's enjoying it but it's a frustrating thing to watch.
At least we're slowly getting closer to the finale but people seriously do not seem to appreciate his *multiple* requests for them to stop doing stuff like that.
That said I'm super excited for northwest mansion and *that* episode so I hope I can catch the live streams. Seriously fav episodes of the season.
8:35: I love this scene. So funny and cute. XD
bro lived in prison for 100 years and still have smooth skin
People have argued that they could have used the Time Wish to make Bill not exist. But I don't think it works that way with Bill.
Also why would they do that? They don’t know what his plans are they don’t know how big of a threat he is they also dont know how it could effect things
fantastic episode Fr i love anything time travel
CIPHER UPDATE: The key word, “CAPACITOR” can be seen in the background when Lolph says, “So be it.”. The end credits cipher decodes to, “DON’T DO THE TIME CRIME IF YOU CAN’T DO THE TIME TIME.” and the cipher on the end picture decodes to, “JOIN THE TIME PARADOX AVOIDANCE ENFORCEMENT SQUADRON! GREAT HOURS! SOLID BENEFITS! SIGN UP YESTERDAY!”.
Fun Facts: Soos’s name is spelled “Jesus”, but it is pronounced, “hey Soos”. That is the same name as the guy that inspired Alex Hirsch to create Soos. In the episode The Time Traveler’s Pig, when Stan loses his screwdriver, Blendin takes it and Soos finds it. That’s the real reason of how Soos started working for Stan.
Always appreciate the info for the ciphers!
@@MikeyVenture one other thing I forgot to mention. There’s a reason why Blendin is bald. If you remember the scene in The Time Traveler’s Pig when he catches on fire, it’s because he time travels very poorly and he has accidentally burned off all of his hair.
yeay this time you saw the Dolph Lundgren gag :-D
Im my language for the fate Mabel shouted hair
soos taught mabel the trick with the vending machine, and then mabel went to the past and taught it to soos!!!!
Love how it comes around like that
I don't know if you've watched adventure time, but years after watching the show, I noticed that Blendin's voice is the same as Lemongrab
Did you notice that all the time monsters in Globnar have clocks for eyes!
Oh wow I’ll have to look because I did not!
That infinite pizza would probably be helpful during weirdmageddon. Soos has an unlimited food supply.
This is one of my favourite episodes!!
blendin want revenge from the kids who mess with time tape and it kind nice stan give soos child in job of the mystery shack
Really glad I managed to catch up to this episode so I can see it just as it comes out. Your reactions are super enjoyable!
I'm glad you were able to catch up! I appreciate the kind words :)
I always thought it was surprisingly sweet that Stan got himself banned from airlines for Soos, i mean not surprising that he got banned but the reason why.
this is one of my favorite episodes
My headcanon is that she really is his gam gam
Since you’re close to finishing this amazing show, there are at least two similar and underrated cartoons that you might want to consider eventually trying out. There is Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated which strangely has a good amount of dark tones and mysteries while there’s also Welcome to the Wayne which contains goofy and fun mysteries about a hotel. If you’re ever interested in watching WTTW, you must see the mini pilots from Nickelodeon’s RUclips channel first since it’s actually connected to the show.
omg scooby doo would be AMAZING
Yes mystery incorporated is probably the best Scooby doo show! I only have 1 problem with it but luckily it doesn’t go on for the whole show
People mentioning Mystery Inc as a good mystery show to watch gives me life.
@@Vonias It was the ORIGINAL Gravity Falls since it came out two years prior.
@@MrStyro Indeed
Ten squared life sentences would be around sixty four thousand years.
This episode is so funny 😂
5:56 100 life sentences
Can't wait for your reaction to eps 11
8:33 She's right, she's just trying to save him from performing at birthday parties and being miserable
Soos would have Never gotten that job if dipper, and Mabel Hatton left the screwdriver
Thx for the reaction
It’s so sad to think that all solos wanted was to meet his father and then his boss was his father in his eyes
Imagine if Lolph was Mabel's descedant
They also did a dippers guide to Stan’s tattoo when u mentioned it in the reaction just before it!
the episode after next has plot
and then like every other episode afterwards
Oh I know. I’ve recorded through episode 12. Can’t wait for you all to see those reactions!
With Soos Stan is just like he father..
10:31 pretty rainbow.
What's really funny is that in Hebrew soos is horse so when I first watched gravity falls I thought they called him a horse💀💀💀
Young Tambrys T-Shirt has a picture of a phone on the front.
Haha I didn’t even notice. That’s great
I can't hear Blendin without thinking Lemongrab.
Aww my heart, it’s such a Sad and Happy and lovely and horribly sad episode. I love soos so much and I love seeing behind gravity falls. I like that this show just keeps reading your mind. Anyways good video great commentary, it’s still January 3rd. 23/?
You definitly have to read the comic after you finish the show! It's really good (there's also an awesome dub of it on RUclips [: )
Oh yeah I remember a few people mentioning the comic. Thanks for reminding me
@@MikeyVenture No problem :D
Bro soos’s dad went for da milk
The time question is : Who learned to bring down the candys distributer in first ? (Sorry for my bad English. I am French .)
It's a paradox.
Can’t wait
3:31 I do but I’m weird like that.
Haha nothing wrong with that at all!
WELCOME. TO. GLOBNARRRRR!
Hey it turns out I can mute him!
@@chriskuhlmann3240 I wish we knew that sooner
Where do you watch these episodes from??
Did u ever go back 2 read what was in conspiracy notes
Have you watched Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated?
I have not actually! Is that the new one?
@@MikeyVenture Its a 2013 version of scooby doo targeted towards, late teens, early adults. it's filled with dark overtones, mystery, romance, disturbing moments and a actually really good over arching story. it's a solid scooby doo adaptation. I highly recommend it.
I would definitely recommend you check it out, even if you don't react to it on your channel.
Blendin was dumb, but Dipper and Mabel are selfish. They stole the device for stupid selfish reasons and got Blendin hundreds of years in prison. He should not have been careless with the device but Dipper and Mabel and especially Stan don't care who gets hurt when they do things.
Wish I had a mute button sometimes lol
I won’t be able to watch when it airs but oh well
5:25 did he even catch himself saying that?
🤔
@@MikeyVenture just in case it wasn't clear, you demanded that blendin will stop blendin'.
