- This is my first time watching, reacting, and providing commentary to season 1 episode 14 of Gravity Falls "Bottomless Pit!" I hope you enjoy it! Expect Gravity Falls reactions almost every Friday!
Gravity Falls follows the adventures of Dipper Pines (voiced by Jason Ritter) and his twin sister Mabel (voiced by Kristen Schaal) who are sent to spend the summer with their great-uncle (or "Grunkle") Stan (voiced by Hirsch) in Gravity Falls, Oregon, a mysterious town full of paranormal incidents and supernatural creatures. The kids help Stan run "The Mystery Shack", the tourist trap that he owns, while also investigating the local mysteries.

also, you can buy a copy of journal 3! i literally just got one the other day. it has all of the pages you see in the show plus way more and all of them are incredibly detailed & include some lore/further explanations of stuff that happens in the show!! finish the entire series before you read it though because it will spoil stuff if you don’t!!!

One of the lines from this show that will always be in my mind is
"I'm grunkle staaayyynn"
the lumberjack is named Manly Dan Corduroy! so Corduroy is his last name :)
He's also Wendy's father

I guess you could make a plausible case for Stan not believing in truth teeth since that is pretty far-fetched. Also props to him for doing something different with a bear cause like he said a bike riding bear is expected, a driving bear is not.
Stan: "And the yellow light means speed up. *sees flashing cop lights and hears cop siren* Uh oh."
Me: And the flashing blue and red lights means pull over.
"But what is life anyway compared to the immortality of a high score?" Getting existential there. I love that joke. And teaching a bear how to drive. For some reason it always amuses me.
And I agree, it's not an overwhelmingly great episode, but it's solid. Perhaps a few little things one can give some deeper thought upon rewatching, but nothing big, more like food for theories.

Honestly, having watched the whole series before (and still loving it) and knowing what I know now about Stan, part of me wants to believe that Stan knew exactly what was going on with the truth teeth and was screwing with the kids with his _very excessive_ honesty on purpose to teach Mabel a lesson.
A lesson about what, I’m not sure, but it does seem to me like a very Stan thing to do.
This could've gone really bad for Stan if they had asked him about the journals or the mysteries of Gravity Falls
@@rocamboleq true, but they never would have thought to do that at the time because Stan played the kids into believing he didn’t believe in mysteries

Mabel's story is the only one that happened, because Dipper commented on it. At least I see it like this. Great reaction, keep up the good work!

i disagree i think soose's story also happened the only one that definitely didn't was stans though
@@mag-narwhal Same with Dipper's story. If that one was true, Stan would still have the voice he had when Dipper slipped the potion into his coffee.
@@mag-narwhal I feel like if Soos’ story was true, they wouldve had dipper acknowledge it had happened as well.
I honestly thought your channel was bigger from the overall quality of your videos and how much I watch your videos. I guess I never took the time to look at the numbers, but how exciting to be so close to 1K! I hope your channel grows and grows c:

Kinda spoilers ahead, be warned, but...
at 20:52 if you really think about it, this little exchange here proves that Stan couldn't be the one who wrote the journals, since when deputy durland says "wow an author! can you teach me how to read?", stan replies with "what? author?". Since stan is literally incapable of lying at this point, it heavily implies that he's never written anything before, and is therefore not the author of the journals.

Hey by all means pause the episode or back up if you missed something, there's plenty of small details and quick one liners that are easy to miss while laughing.
But you're asking the right questions XD
Thankfully I essentially watch it again during editing because I definitely do miss things. I love that it’s one of those shows that makes multiple viewings worth it
