"luckily i have'nt had anything too brutal yet". about a year later he went to the doctor because his neck hurt, and he was told he pretty much have walked around with a broken neck since late 90's, from falling off stage and making a spine-cracking faceplant (this is real shit).. nothing too brutal indeed..
Technimechanical have you seen his neck? I’m not just bringing up an overused meme. Like really the mans neck is so thick and probably full of muscle that it could work normally. The human body is so crazy that anything can happen.
I've met Lzzy twice, she is one of the kindest rockers I've met (I work at festivals, so I get to meet quite a few of them) She takes the time for her fans, when talking to a fan that shares a passion, she can just go on and on, which is what I love about her! Haven't met Corey yet, although, a friend of mine who was working at Graspop Metal Meeting was one of the backstage crew, and after the Slipknot show, he ran into Corey, who was looking for his band. So he asked of my friend had seen them, he didn't. On which Corey replied "Ah fuck it, wanna grab a beer?" And then went to the backstage bar, to have a few beers with eachother. Luckily Slipknot didn't have a show until the week after, so they weren't in a hurry to leave the festival.
3:19 THAT. That so hard. Please, please Lzzy, heed that man's advice. The production on your albums is so polished and blown-up, it takes the real power out of your music.
Absolutely! I've heard a couple of their songs on our local radio station, but never thought much about them. I just watched their Live in Philly concert on RUclips and was amazed at their sound. I've tried to get excited about their albums, but I just can't.
wow, looking back on this interview, it looks like she took cory's advice. they went with a different producer for their new album and recorded all the songs live in studio. and it fucking rules!
3:26 Corey's got a point. I've always enjoyed Halestorm's albums and stuff, but I had the privilege of watching them live about a month ago. It's honestly insane how much better they are live.
God no dont even say that vol. 3 was not the next big thing for them. It was the beginning of the end for them. I actually like vol 3, but it was nothing in comparison to iowa and self titled. And all hope is gone is awful
No I didn't... I said that Slipknot's Vol 3 changed their path and made them an even bigger band. They made a great album which was exceptionally produced and reached their potential with that album. Halestorm could do the same if they work hard and get a great producer in... can you not read?
Bearskickass976 yeah thats what i was talking about you said vol 3 was slipknots next big thing. In my humble opinion it wasnt and it didnt make them a bigger band theyve since lost two vital members and their latest album was garbage i dont see how theyve become better...
3:26 This is the face you make when your teacher/instructor/leader tells you that you are good but could be even better if... I think she appreciated the advice. These two have a great chemistry and I couldn't even begin to imagine how awesome I'd be to hit a pub or a bar with them, have a beer and a chat about everything...
It's like Lzzy listened to Corey , their last album is the best in a decade in my opinion , It was just awesome there is not a song that I didn't like , powerful vocals without lacking emotional sides , meaningfull lyrics , amazing guitars and drums , it was true RockNRoll I love it
3:28 I agree 200%. I saw Halestorm live in Tinley Park last month and I was just blown away. Obviously seeing bands live is a different experience, but their sound compared to their albums is just unbelievable. Lzzy is ridiculously talented
As someone who has seen them every time they have come to my country... Corey is SPOT ON. There is something about Halestorm live that is just spectacular. It feels like they're your best friends and you're having fun in the garage, even though they have this larger than life vibe too. Its almost like they bring you into this fold of genuine people who just want to chill and love the music. They seem to genuinely enjoy their music AND screwing with the fans a little. I still remember Lzzy going "He really likes me" about a fan who went bright red. it was a HOOT. Its the fans too that make the shows I think. All Halestorm concerts I went to, I was confident to hand $10 to someone next to me and say pass it on I want a coke. Every time my coke and my change came back to me. Not to mention the time this 6ft guy was shoulder boosting this random 5ft girl because she couldn't see. Or when a fan gave away the pick they caught to another fan's daughter, who couldn't come into the 18+ venues.
What he said to her was spot on. I've seen them live and her voice echoing through the open air is beyond anything they can seem to capture in the studio. If you have the chance, go see Halestorm live!
Corey is spot on at 3:33 with 'old school', as I've thought the same. He's off picking Mutt, though, as still too 'over' and 'slick', not clearing priors all that much. Old School as in a Martin Birch meets Butch Vig, and do it on tape! (ha) Anyway, yeah that's right. It's also of course going to be all about the songs, in the end, and #3 is going to have the big guns, I can feel it...
What a happy, energetic, loving, relationship you have with your family, friends and of course with your guitar "wife"!! Your videos always makes me smile, thank you Jen ❤
So glad to see the newer generation and the other generation of rock combining. Same when you see Metallica with Volbeat or hell, Judas Priest with Metallica.
Completely agree with Corey. Halestorm live are fucking awesome. But in studio... boring. Just... it's... watered and thin? Hard to put exactly, but I saw them live before I ever heard them in CD, and man... it's pretty much only live for me.
+Zed Chuva Yea, I saw them at uproar in 2010 and I had never heard of them and they blew me the fuck away so much so that I bought their first album there and i never do that shit. Anyways i got home and listened to it and was like 'what the fuck is this?' and never listened to it again but I always watch theri live performances and would love to see them live again.
I feel like Corey's words kinda infected the making of Into The Wild Life album, the recording progress was about to capture them live and the album is pure rock music. Corey was right.
I completely agree with Corey in that Halestorm live is so much better than the albums. Lzzy and Arejay are amazing together live (along with Joe and Josh). I had only heard "I love the Misery" on the radio prior to seeing them at Welcome to Rockville in Jacksonville 2013. I bought the album after the show and was sadly disappointed. Didn't do them justice at all. If you get a chance, see them live, you won't be sorry at all.
Corey Taylor is so down to earth and so honest. I also agree with him on Halestorm's performances. They are better live. When they came to sioux city with Evanescence I never heard of them. Then I saw them bought their albums and wasn't intrigued as much as I was watching them. And it is totally possible for them to do so much better.
I've seen Halestorm live twice and I completely agree with Corey, their albums do not do their live shows the justice it deserves. The first time I saw them was right after their first album released (Sept '09). They were the opening act for a 10 band festival. I had never heard of them but they ended up being one of the best live performances I've ever seen. The second time I saw them live was just as amazing.
She is amazing live I agree!! I adore her more now days then back then her voice just keeps getting better!! Like you Corey your voice is absolutely perfection!!!!
i remember seeing them both in 2010 at the uproar festival in Idaho, was crazy cuz i went there for Disturbed, but fell in love with a7x that was also there and crazy to see corey taylor in stone sour and halestorms drummer
The reason Halestorms albums are different than what they are like live is because even though they can capture the sound... it's the essence of the band themselves and the vibe they put out that makes the live experience that much more powerful. A great producer at the best studio available would get you close but not close enough.
I love these 2. Corey is the reason I want to be in a metal band and Lzzy is the motivation because hell who wouldn't wanna tour with halestorm or slipknot. Plus it's Lzzy. Look at her. She's perfect
Corey! I can't agree more with on that! Halestorm is so unbelievable amazing live! and so are they on their records! but the albums does not capture what they really can do! and what makes people blow down from their seats! i mean when i saw you guys earlier this year, i was absolutely blown away! and i'm really sorry that i didn't got the chance to meet you guys after the show, cause then i could'va told you what Corey says to you Lzzy! but i'm glad that i even just met you! you guys are incredible! :D
Totally agree at the end. I wasn't interested in Halestorm having only listened studio stuff. I saw them live at a festival and was blown away. It's a million times better. She needs new producers.
Coreys last comment made amazing sense.I saw them live about a year ago and I cant lsiten to the LPs cuz it just doesnt compare. I still listen to their live performances though... :)
Creepy? More like clever! I mean, think about it- you're attracted to a women you know you can never have, but you want so badly for her to know how much you want her- like literally want her... so, how can you say "I dream of having sex with you" in an original way? Well, that's one way to do it! Kudos to that fan, for channeling her lust into a funny gift, haha.
@@storybellz it depends on the fan. If he was doing it as a joke all good. If he was serious very creepy. And knowing fan boys these days he was probably serious.
