The older child is Linda's daughter (Heather) from a previous marriage -- Paul adopted her within a couple of years. The younger child is Linda and Paul's (Mary). Great song, and a touching video. Good reaction.
Needless to say this was a tribute to his late wife Linda the mother of his children. He did everything by himself all the instruments and production and kinda recorded it secretly since The Beatles were yet to formally break up. Due to all the tensions and drama that was going in around and withing Beatles at that time Paul made sure to release his debut album before the last Beatles album came. This song is a Paul standard a song he always includes in his shows.

Curiously, it was released a week or two Beatles final album, "Let it Be." Paul's album included an interview he did with himself, in which it was revealed for the first time that the Beatles had broken up. And an entire musical culture was shaken to its roots!
