The '70 version is magically beautiful and pure perfection...no doubt. However...there is something so much more magical and 'mature sounding', on his '76 live version. Paul's voice is at its maturest. He really belts out that 'crack', with the force of a jackhammer. I like the '70 version...but that '76 live version gets me every time.

My wife and I have been lucky enough to see ‘Sir Paul’ three times over the years. Nothing will ever be as exciting as the first time (what is?), but he still does three hour shows, and has a level of energy onstage that would put men half his age to shame!

      Anakin - I know!
Only the brain dead could believe such a thing could be pulled off.
As if some copy Paul had been waiting around being trained daily to act like Paul, write, sing, sound, know everybody Paul actually knew remember every conversation they all had, know every detail about all life's little inconsequential moments that we take for granted, know all the really important things, and everything in between etc etc etc.
Imagine someone like that who would have to leave his life behind all his family, friends, loved ones, wife? kids? etc etc and spend every waking hour of his life being told every new detail in the "real" Paul's life and on and on - is he allergic to the same things Paul is allergic too?
Does he like the same flavor ice cream? Does he like the same foods? How did that first night go in the old fart sack with Paul's lady? She would be like "umm Paul I don't recall your dick being so tiny? And when did you grow your foreskin back? Wait, didn't you have two balls?
She asks "Paul, do that thing I like...you know...that thing." Now what? She's all shocked now "WHAT THE HELL PAUL?! GET IT OUT OF THEIR YOUR JERK"!! and the faker Paul's like "I...I thought you wanted me to do that thing"? She says "ya that thing you know damned well is when you give me thousands of dollars to shop with my poor friends! NOT stir my tea with your...dirty underwear you swine!...why...why you're not Paul at all!!! You're Faul you bastard! What have you done with Paul"!!??
Next day - Stupid man tries to take over Paul McCartney's life, gets caught when Paul's girlfriend notices one testical missing and a few inches shorter?
Police don't buy his rediculous story about being part of a dumb scheme where he was trained every waking day of his tiny dick life to emulate Paul you know IN CASE THE REAL PAUL SHOULD DIE AND THE WORLD GO UPSIDE DOWN!!!
Man charged with murder, still refuses to tell truth. Judge sentences fake Paul to death by gay rape by a seven foot five Nigerian man named
"Monster Bum Bat" three jurors barf at sentencing, the rest laugh their asses off that anyone could be so stupid as to buy such a RETARDED STROY!!

I love Paul as much as anyone, no doubt about it. And I've seen him live starting in 1976 onward. To be honest though, I have to say that the last 3-4 years he sounds just OK when he sings loud and with screams, but with his softer stuff, his voice is pretty much gone, as aging has taken its toll. It's neat to see Paul live because he's Paul, but it's hard for me to hear that once golden voice I grew up with succumb to the inevitable pains of aging. I think it's great that he still plays live (strongly), but from a vocal perspective, he's getting close to getting ready to hang it up and retire gracefully.

Paul’s current band has been together, according to this video, twice as long as the Beatles were a band. It’s weird tho think how many times these guys have played Beatle songs considering that the Beatles stopped touring and never played them.

@@DavidRosecomedy James Paul McCartney died in car crash on September 11 1966. Brian Epstein with the consent of the authorities at the time and the three Beatles, he decides to replace Paul with a right-handed session musician named William Shepherd. Everyone involved, including their families, vowed to keep everything a secret. However, The Beatles produced over a hundred clues about Paul's death in their albums and images. William underwent numerous cosmetic surgeries to resemble Paul. William is two inches taller than Paul, William has green eyes, William has a weaker and thinner voice than Paul, William has totally different manners. Musically, Paul was a genius, William is just a good musician.

70 was a studio recording, not comparable. '76, '90 '02, '05,'13 was live and his voice in the louder parts sometimes a bit hoarse. In '17 he can't deliver anymore in the same vocal quality.
But then . . . I don't complain. If my voice was half as good at that age, then I'd be proud.

oh please. he has done very well to do as well as he has all these years...but his voice hasn't been the same for decades now. I hear his newer concert/live album material and it can't compare to his earlier stuff, but it's not fair to expect that it should. frankly I'm not sure if I had the chance that I'd want to go see him now in this reduced state.
