    Back in 1966, in my 8th grade music class, my teacher played some songs off of Revolver, and marveled at McCartney's range. Then, he paused, and said with great emotion, "Oh why, why does he smoke? Why would anyone diminish such a great gift from God?"

      @@hectorcheivz4113 I understand his capabilities and that his range was insanely wide, but he was known for recording some tracks at slower speeds and then speeding them up to create higher pitch vocals, not that he couldn’t hit them but because he liked the effect. Examples of this include Lucy in the Sky with diamonds as well as Coming Up off of McCartney 2. I presume he has done this to create lower pitched vocals as well.

      @hectorcheivz4113  3 года назад

      @@sobos1282 Did he recorded "Lucy in..." a bit lower? how much? I'd like to receive more information please
      I don't doubt it, it doesn't be strange, sometimes singers from that years recorded tracks step tone lower or even less, like David Gilmour to reack the B4s in "Welcome To The Machine", but whatever it's question about just step tone or less.
      But even assuming Paul was doing the same thing, it doesn't make more sense or something about Paul was changing tha key to reach lower notes, and what about low notes he sang live?? obviusly without edition.
      In studio you can hear it legit; the manipulation in his voice and how he goes down with his throat, using also a bit blended technique with his fry/growl register to sound more rough and solid, his A1 (his lowest note) for example cames from a blended technique like that.
      If you can doubt about a low harmnonie he recorded higher and after he adjust the key, they could be the lines from: "The back seat of your car" that low voices behind Paul voice sounds more shift pitched, with and rare tone and voice, more manipulated by different program editors, even in The Range Place is a questionable note.

He often used nasso voice to help on high notes also like what he did in yesterday live. Above A4, he pretty much used falsetto and mix voice shouting.
    Paul is my favorite singer all time to be honest. He is for sure gifted and through morden training, he can reach higher note for sure. But he is mostly a baritenor by most common baritone range classification.

    I can reach down to D#2 and up to D6 in a controlled manner, and I'm not sure how far I can reach with random squealing, but it seems around C7. And I'm 16 with a slow puberty and no vocal coaching whatsoever so there's good hope here I think
    Edit 1 year later: Huh so I'm 18 now, and belting A4 is easy now. The highest I can belt has gotten up to D5 on a really good day, and down to B1 on another kind of really good day (well not belting there but chest voice). I struggle to sing over C6 in head voice now though, but ranomly squealing still works.

    Ha! At all the Freddie trolls. Man why are people so on his tit? Are these the woke people? The video is about Paul McCartney who i would never really consider a vocal ranger but a straight ahead top tenor. He made his money singing high. The stuff he's sung of late singing low is garbage imo and he should know that. He made his mark harmonizing with John. He took that high end sparkle and made quite a career out of it. There is such a thing as singing too high. Even if a male could sing higher it's not really a good thing to go there, nor is it a good idea to sound like a bass harmonica. It's mush and slush. Paul Mccartney is not some accapelist singing in front of a bunch of snobs, he's a pop singer. There's really nothing worse than hearing a glass breaker, it's like listening to a mosquito in one's earlobe. Paul was singing in the context of a pop vocal group not acting like some pseudo classical operatist. People get so impressed when someone trills, or sustains forever or whatever but what does that do for the song? Paul McCartney was dedicated to the song. He didn't have to go out of his way to be flamboyant, there were no closets to come out of. There you will find the answer. Paul McCartney is just the better singer. Only thing Freddie has on Paul is tooth length.

    Man doesn't even go into an A4 without using falsetto. I don't mean to undermine his influence as an amazing songwriter and singer in his own right, but his vocal prowess is largely over inflated by people on the internet. If you want to hear a true "tenor" in popular music, go listen to the likes of Roy Orbison or Freddy Mercury. If one truly wants to get into it, look into operatic Tenors who truly define the standard abilities of a tenor (that high C beauty). Paul doesn't compare whatsoever. However, Great musician nonetheless.
