As a Devils fan who saw Zetterlund in the system, just love the kid. What a solid player and quality young man. A player you can build your franchise around. I would not be surprised to see him wear a letter on his chest in the near future
I think the sharks have now won the timo meier trade with how zetturlund has come along. He’s scoring more than meier this year. Never would’ve expected that
Im so excited for another season of faceoff! I found it so interesting to see a bit more of the player's personalities. Honestly I just wish it was longer. Thought it did a good but very abbreviated job of showing the tension/emotion of the stanley cup playoffs. Would for sure recommend the watch
Zetterlund's a modern day power forward. Doesn't really chase hits, but doesn't back down from anybody and always willing to drive the net. Decent hands and blazing feet, SJ is lucky to have him - Grier is absolutely killin it.
Yeah. Things just were not working out. I mean he looked OK in a few preseason games. But with new coach fell out of favor. He had been scratched the last 7/8 games and was -4 was a liability in the one game he played. There was reportedly an attitude problem as well.. that’s what Bruins insiders said. 😅
No. He'll be very bad and old by the time Sharks are contenders, and his trade value as a rental is high. Get a 1st round pick that can actually help you when you're competing in 5 years.
@camc9225 Nah, any reasonable GM would look up the history of Granlund being a deadline acquisition and politely refuse. Plus, Sharks can't retain anything themselves.
Thanks for the video! Cirelli is playing after sitting out the morning skate and has already scored. Bruins should be dumping everything on their books as soon as they can. The AHL is seeing lots of talent joining them again. Mrasek might have been rushed. Not sure how I feel about retro fixes. Great info and insights!
It's a good question. What I have understood is that it either has to be by agreement, like players going to Europe, or for violations of team rules. So I don't know what it is here.
Terminating either refers to unconditional which means the player and the team agrees on it or the team has to have a legitimate reason to do away with the contract. (Litigation or some kind of off the ice conduct) in this case, from what I can gather from legit Bruins insiders, he had an attitude problem. On top of being scratched and just not performing well. He wanted to leave there was like some kind of disconnect ever since the new coach came
The thing is the Bruins could’ve easily put him on waivers and just buried him in the minor for the rest of the season if they wanted to. There was something going on, I’m not believing everything I hear obviously but, a lot of Bruins insiders in Boston are saying he had an attitude problem in the locker room. And if you look back to last year things didn’t really end well in Chicago a lot of people question his work ethic.
The only reason why terminating a contract would be a thing is when the player and the team mutually agrees to part ways. Or the player acted out in some way. In this case, when you terminate the contract he’s not walking away with any money. The contract is terminated so the rest of the years pay he won’t get. I believe so. Because it was the Bruins decision to move on. Evidently he has some kind of attitude problem on top of not doing well.
Brother these guys make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year even at the minimum salary. If they get terminated before Christmas it will not affect Christmas in the Slightest for his family. Let's get a grip here. This isn't like laying off someone making 60k a year living paycheck to paycheck
Granlund in 5 years from now = trash or retired. Trade him for a 1st round pick ( equals 18 year old kid ) at deadline. You don't NEED to win games yet. Granlund helping Sharks win games this year doesn't help anything in the long term.
Zetterlund was a pretty nice "throw-in" piece for Mike Grier in the Timo Meier trade

Best hockey context on the planet.
Honestly!!!!

This is one of the very few among a handful of RUclips channela that I don't mind giving ad revenue instead of using Firefox ad block.

zetterlund was a great part of the trade that sent meier to njd. if shakir also pans out sharks will have done really well with that trade.
Zetterlunds motor just don’t stop
Johnson signed his contract on November 4th and now he's gone. Damn!

Sharks need to extend Granlund as well.
I'd love that, but I feel like we could get SO much for him rn

Did the Sharks win the Timo Meier trade? Essentially the Sharks got Zetterlund, Mukuhmadullin and Musty for Meier.
And Cap space. Timo always grabbed top dollar.
Someone said that they made the second season of Faceoff during the regular season so Brady can be in it
happy to keep Zetterlund in SJ.
Ouch for Moser. At least he should be back in time for the playoffs, with a few warmup games at the end of the regular season.
Interesting that SJS have a Lund line……
Moser being out sucks , I’ve liked his play in Tampa . Getting him with Geekie was amazing
Yeah that’s turned into amazing trade for the lightning.
Fire Lou

I loved watching the first season of Faceoff. So I would like watching season 2 when it happens.
How about hurricanes goaltending situation
You should do a video about the flying fathers history
What’s the rules on terminating contracts? Because obviously you can’t do it all willy nilly since buyouts exist

IIRC as long as it's not for cause the team pays out a proportion of the remaining money on it

Well TJ, not sure you can take JJ’s place but we would welcome you back for your retirement party
Losing Moser for that long is gonna hurt. Hopefully the Bolts can keep their momentum
Varly injured…Caps fans: “Shocker!”
Boston management has the worst timing and general sense of things I have ever seen.
So if his contract is terminated, he still gets paid right? You can’t just back out of a contract like that can you?
Unless contracts are terminated for cause yes, guys get paid out

Vote for an LTIR video!
Terrified Grier will trade away Granlund. Getting stuck in a perpetual building cycle like his Brother did in MiMi

The sharks are a few years away from being a championship contender.
