Really loved this breakdown from you on my team! Also I appreciate the positive words and the sweater looks good on you! Hoping we make it to a playoff spot!
@@Ryyder64for us hardcore hockey fans that were born and raised here, were absolutely stoked to have our states name going across the front of the jersey. And anybody who thinks it’s lame we don’t have an “official” name yet, then you don’t realize how long a proper branding can take. I’m so glad they didn’t rush into any forever decisions in order to make a team name for this season.
Thank you for everything you do! Your videos help me make it through work and I always am so excited to see Utah content. I started this season just hoping they would show promise and they really have so far. I look forward to their future and watching them grow.
Yeah, he always plays great even when the team loses. There's been games that Utah only lost by a goal or two, but probably would've been three or four with anyone else in front of the net.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing the one and only hockey guy wearing a UHC jersey. Going to the game tomorrow for my 5th UHC game. If we can start playing like we do on the road in our home arena, then the canucks will get smoked.
I want to see Utah make it in. A first-year playoff appearance would help grow the fanbase in Salt Lake and do some justice to the Coyotes from my point of view. Unfortunately it looks like that'd come at the expense of the Canucks
Fan base here is strong. We’ve had an ECHL team that used to be an IHL or AHL team for decades. Plus there are countless people like me who learned to play the game due to our surplus of rinks. Thanks to the 2002 Olympics the greater Salt Lake area got a ton of rinks prior to the winter games. That gave people like me who were 9 years old at the time to get into the game. Now we’re adults and are so thankful we don’t have to root for Colorado or the defunct Coyotes. We’ve been a lowkey hockey town for a lonngggg time, but now we can properly become one.
Veggie and the original lines coming back together and having success has really boosted the team these last 10 games. Big game tonight against your Canucks tonight!
Weird to see all these projections picking Utah to make the playoffs with higher percentages than Vancouver and LA, like moneypuck or the recent ESPN+ article. The underlying stats mentioned here really help shine some light on what those models might be seeing with this team, great video as always.
Been really enjoying rooting for Utah this season. Been my 2nd team to watch after the Canucks. The game today between the two teams will be interesting
If Utah makes the playoffs, the atmosphere inside the Delta Center is going to be absolutely insane. I've been to several Jazz playoff games, and they had by far the loudest and most electric atmosphere of any sporting events I've ever been to (I've also been to playoff games for the Orioles and the Capitals, and they weren't even close).
IMO, the biggest issue early in the season was a high number of penalties. With Maveric Lamoureux out, they take much fewer penalties and can actually get some offensive time.
Utah playing really strong 5on5 all season. Been a tough go on special teams until lately, last few games sp teams been very good. Tough getting offense first 20 games but better last 8-10 games. All is In order to stay in the fight to be in a position to challenge for playoff spot late in season. I'd be surprised if they get in, but the team is a real, and very good up and coming team.
I'm gonna remain cautiously optimistic about Utah making it, i just gotta hope Colorado and Vancouver keep trading positions for a while in the wild card so they can maybe sneak in
I'm really hoping the clubbers can make it in year one. I've had so many people stop me around town to talk hockey when they see me in my jersey, the people are primed to become lifelong fans and a big first season will lock that in. My only worry is that people use a playoff spot as an excuse for the name to stick. I'll be happy to keep calling them the clubbers as a nickname (especially if it's Yeti. Yeti club things, natural clubbers!) but they gotta have a real name, I'll die inside a little if they don't.
I think it's pretty hilarious how Arizona owned the Leafs in Toronto for the past 20 years or so and the Leafs finally beat them now that they're a "different team."
It would be a great story if they make the playoffs. The issue is who in the West do they knock out? I doubt Minnesota, Winnipeg, Dallas, Vegas, Vancouver, and Edmonton are going to finish below the line. That leaves two spots open among LA, Colorado, Calgary, Utah, Seattle and St Louis. It would be surprising if Colorado doesn't eventually get over the playoff line and we could argue that Calgary is playing over their head. So that leaves LA having to fall back and Utah arising from the scrum among LA, Calgary, Seattle and St Louis. It could be quite a shoot out the last few weeks of the season.
If they make it and he doesn't get traded or injured, Ian Cole would be the first player in NHL history to play in a playoff game with 9 different teams, beating Mike Sillinger
12:02 The Utah Unicycles! (PS When am I going to be your favorite band, Hockey Guy? The Entertainment Guy loves me but maybe he just relates to the struggle.)
I said at the beginning of the season that I felt this team would make the playoffs and I still think they will. I think having the enthusiasm and support from the Utah fans will help drive this team to a wild card spot and possibly a first round upset.
Utah is probably more likely to make the playoffs than the stupid terrible Rangers who always let me down and screw the pooch against bad teams. Cool jersey!
If we make it our first year, I’d be absolutely thrilled. They’ve honestly been super fun to watch, and made my life better, along with tons of other new hockey fans that I’ve met. Such a great story so far. LFG UTAH 🤘🏻🏒
My feeling being an Utah fan, Sergachev might not light up the stat boards but he and maatta on the back end allowing the forwards to be forwards is nice insurance. Hayton is not my favorite. Watching him he is out of his area quite often.
The UHC making the playoffs would be huge for them in their first season even if they lose in the first round. The Jazz are one of the worst teams in the NBA right now so the UHC would have all eyes on them in the state if they can make it.
Would ABSOLUTELY love it if Utah displaces Colorado!!! Everyone cutting that team so much slack in every way. One of the dirtiest teams in the league that always gets a pass for this or that. McKinnon literally ended Nolan Patricks career. And you can see DirtyMac loading up to hit him in the head. Of course no call...
If they make the playoffs I'll be over the moon. If they make it past the first round, I'll be hysterical. If they make it the the finals I may die of happiness.
@sharkhaos_probablyTheres still some worry in my Avalanche brain, but maybe we can keep the OILERS out by winning just enough and let utah in? It’s not like they could beat either of us anyway 👀
Really loved this breakdown from you on my team! Also I appreciate the positive words and the sweater looks good on you!
Hoping we make it to a playoff spot!
THG just looking for another excuse to wear those slick UHC jerseys 😏
The black ones are really nice I have to be honest
Going to look great when it's properly branded
They suck. Look exactly the same as TB Lightning.
The only thing slick about them is the color scheme lol. Otherwise they kinda suck bud haha

Vejmelka has completely changed this team. He has been incredible!
Ingram is probably getting really nervous about his spot on the team
@ I think you’re right. He hasn’t looked sharp in any of this starts this year. Stauber has looked great (granted he has onky been in net 2 games)

I'm thinkin' Shannon is quickly becoming a fan of The Utah Hockey Club!😊
Losing out in Guenther made him a bit sour

Id gladly trade Utah in the playoffs for Canucks 😊
I just wished it was Oilers getting kicked off a spot 😩
If I were THG I wouldn't be able to resist taking every opportunity to say "McBain, who has been something of a Magic Ticket for Utah..."
I say "Magic ticket my ass, McBain" the first time he is mentioned during every game.
I don't want to hear it, McBain!
Mendoza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love this. Thanks for the coverage!
Let’s go Utah!
Seems totally changed with the new goalie….
That San Jose game is so fun to watch

Would love to see Utah win a cup the "first" season for the sheer comedic tragedy of it.
Utah Hockey Club forever being on the Stanley Cup would be incredible
... Isn't that what Colorado did?
I thought they could have gotten there last year, but with mullet arena didn't make sense for the playoffs
Thanks for the video! YOU'RE A MACHINE! They really need a name, like Da Yutes with Joe Pesci as a mascot.

They have a huge LTIR pool. If they want to go for it, they can add anyone they want, even with term.

Really hope the Utah Hockey Club can get a playoff spot but it is going to be a hard slog. They are a fun team to watch.
Definitely. The west is tough this year, and even without the preds living up to expectations it's going to be a rough ride
I'm gonna remain cautiously optimistic about Utah making it, i just gotta hope Colorado and Vancouver keep trading positions for a while in the wild card so they can maybe sneak in

Alex Meruelo may not know how to build an arena, but you might have to credit him with launching a successful rebuild.

That’d be crazy
Yeah, they can compete for a playoff spot. They're somewhat in the thick of it now.
UTAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I'm calling fade on this one. They have a lot of similar players and I don't think they mesh together that well.
I said at the beginning of the season that I felt this team would make the playoffs and I still think they will. I think having the enthusiasm and support from the Utah fans will help drive this team to a wild card spot and possibly a first round upset.
Just curious what do Utah fans think of Serg & Moser / Geekie trade. As a Bolt fan I miss Serg but I’m happier where we are
THG about to jinx Utah Coyotes again 😅
Utah is probably more likely to make the playoffs than the stupid terrible Rangers who always let me down and screw the pooch against bad teams. Cool jersey!
I think Colorado figures it out and pulls away more so than Utah falling apart
If we make it our first year, I’d be absolutely thrilled. They’ve honestly been super fun to watch, and made my life better, along with tons of other new hockey fans that I’ve met. Such a great story so far. LFG UTAH 🤘🏻🏒

If the jackets can just get there defence in gear they could actually make a run. There Defence is just abysmal.
Waiting for this team to fall off an absolute cliff again
I would like to see Utah(yati)to make the playoffs
I have a hard time telling Utah and Seattle apart. Colours are too similar.
no theyre not lol Seattle is Dark blue light blue and aqua with a splash of red. utah is black, baby blue and white how is that the same?
Blues? Hello.....?
The UHC making the playoffs would be huge for them in their first season even if they lose in the first round. The Jazz are one of the worst teams in the NBA right now so the UHC would have all eyes on them in the state if they can make it.
The predators quietly pushing for a draft lottery spot, can they stay in the hunt?
No

If UHC make the playoffs in their “first year”, they’ll be the ultimate underdog
Lol
It would NOT be fun if they made the playoffs in their first year. -former coyotes fan
Caps fan, but I'm chear8ng for Utah so hard. Clayton Keller has been SUFFERING.
Could you please do a video on the red wings?
Utah owes the refs a dinner after their game against the sharks
🎻😏
Salty sharks
The 8 west teams are pretty much locked in. EDM VGK VAN LAK WPG MIN COL DAL
I have to agree. I don't see the current top 8 falling out barring injuries. Maybe Canucks if the supposed internal strife keeps affecting play
Petey looks to have found his game a bit, Miller's back, Demko's back, and Sherwood's on fire. I think they'll be fine but idk it is Vancouver
@sharkhaos_probablyTheres still some worry in my Avalanche brain, but maybe we can keep the OILERS out by winning just enough and let utah in?
It’s not like they could beat either of us anyway 👀
@@alohastate8256 Yeah they’re the most likely to fall out at this point, but I’d still set it at like an 90% chance to make it
No just no
