The Rangers are more like a slow-smoldering fire that suddenly flashes over. Drury (and Gorton before him) has made some very questionable moves for a long time, but only now has it really blown up, and now it’s hard to imagine how you can put the fire out rather than just waiting for it to burn everything down.
The reason as I see it why Laviolette is safe is he's a scapegoat for Drury. If he's gone it all falls to him. I'm fully on the fire Drury side of this. He can't read the locker room even as a successful former player. Also say he has no involvement with any of the contracts is BS. He's been in the Mangement system being groomed for this for years. Looks like he's a bad student as well as a bad GM.
Buffalo still has the youngest average age roster in the NHL. Tough to win when you don't have any experienced vets on the team to point the way. I still feel like they needed to overpay, either a free agent or in a trade, for a legit, experienced top 6 forward and a top 4 rugged d-man. They need to hire an experienced, proven GM and coach and just let them cook for a while. I don't even watch the highlights anymore, forget about the games.
My only question is if rangers want to get into the playoffs, why do they need cap space before Christmas? Unless they are trying to replace trouba and kakko with the the return they received
making playoffs for the majority is a success, theres like 4 teams that winning a cup is their measure like tampa 2019-2022 sabres on the other hand playoffs is a huge success, being in the playoff race in april is success for them

Seth jones for Panarin Straight up
What scares me is that we are the second worst team against the top half of the league, only ahead of Anaheim
the gaudreau trade for Buffalo of when edm traded hendricks. obviously it wasnt to the extreme but the oilers deff had a dip after
It's weird being a diehard sabres fan for my entire life, and finally reaching a point where I'm actually rooting against my own team out of spite. 🌴
Much like the Springfield tire fire, the Sabres’ tire fire seems to have been burning forever. Hard to compare to the Rangers’ situation.
Wait, Oilers aren't playing the Rangers in the final this year? I'll have to change some flights.
it's gotten to the point where I record the sabres and if they lose I'll just delete it wasn't like that awhile ago
They should join forces and create a super team called the “NY Tire Fires”
Teams hang conference title and president's trophy banners. While not as good as Stanley cups they still mean something.
New contracts will have can't be put on waivers
Buffalo still has the youngest average age roster in the NHL. Tough to win when you don't have any experienced vets on the team to point the way. I still feel like they needed to overpay, either a free agent or in a trade, for a legit, experienced top 6 forward and a top 4 rugged d-man.
They need to hire an experienced, proven GM and coach and just let them cook for a while. I don't even watch the highlights anymore, forget about the games.
My only question is if rangers want to get into the playoffs, why do they need cap space before Christmas? Unless they are trying to replace trouba and kakko with the the return they received
making playoffs for the majority is a success, theres like 4 teams that winning a cup is their measure like tampa 2019-2022
sabres on the other hand playoffs is a huge success, being in the playoff race in april is success for them
