  • This is a basic video tutorial for writing a lead sheet using Musescore.
(Musescore is a FREE music notation and composition program. This downloadable program is available for Windows, MacOS, and Linux. It has comparable features to Finale and Sibelius.)
This video was originally created for the students of the Vocal Jazz Solo Styles Ensemble at Grossmont College, although creating lead sheets in your optimal key (with the option to create original arrangements) is a valuable skill to have for musicians in the contemporary and commercial genres.
