Great video , very useful- specially halving and doubling. How can you prevent having a line with say only 2 bars from being stretched out to fill the whole line, the stretched out bars are harder to sight read. I want the 2 bars to end halfway across the page and for there to be a blank space for the rest of the line, I'd really appreciate your help!

What I'm trying to do is make a RUclips tutorial video where the music goes along with what my chart is playing, but it doesn't scroll down the page (so that my student can practice along and still see the notes) and I'm just not sure how we do that. Your trick #8 did it I actually doubled my 1st four bars, so that the whole thing will start on page two... and then I simply just grabbed phrase one (four bars) with the page break too you taught us and dragged down until the next line went to the following page. I did that over and over, screen recorded with Quick time and.... WE DID IT !!!! Thanks a million (notes and tips that is) !!!!!

There is a Percentage tool that shows up on the bottom right side of my scores it enables mto toggle down and choose different sizes 100% up to 400% .This changes the size of my score accordingly. Now when I select my score from the home page this selection no longer appears. How do I get it back? Thank you in advance!/

I loaded that file to musescore software. Then, i tried to get to the instrument for guitar by clicking on Edit, but i did find the Instrument option Can you help me to solve the problem? Thank you.
Select the duration that the three notes will fill (e.g, a quarter note if you want a triplet of eighth notes). Go to the "add" menu, and choose "tuplets" and then "triplet" (or just press Ctrl+3). The one note will be replaced with three rests under a triplet, and then you can insert the notes you want.
I use "add9" often in jazz scores and I found blogs from long ago complaining about MuseScore not recognizing this term (or "adds" of other intervals). I've seen no blogs indicating that this capability was added. Is there any word on this? I don't see any references to "add" or other more exotic chord notations having been added to MuseScore's catalog of recognized chord forms (on the "Chord Symbols" page). Thanks.

Im using mac mini 2020 and 3.6 musescore. This just happen recently don't know how to fix it. I have a score up I click a note or rest inside a measure. I press cmd + T for system text Im typing in a note such as 7th position Its not recognizing my mac keyboard when I type 7th and space bar is where it does not recognize it I can not space my words in system text. Is there a solution
My problem is that when I start with pre notes, it doesn't add up in the end. For example, the music is in 4/4, but it starts with two quater notes, it has to calculate that in the end, but it just shows a full 4/4 measure in the end.
When you use rhythm, 14/4 or 10/8 for example. The shape of the musical notes seems divided in an unnatural way, all of them are connected to each other and are difficult to read. Is there a way to separate them from each other so that they look normal? Thanks

This might not be the best way to swap passages, but you can use Ctrl+Shift+X as a sort of combined paste and cut. Pretty much, when you use that shortcut, you cut the area selected, while placing down whatever you copied beforehand.
I can't find anything for lute or oud expressions in the mixer, also some authentic Arab iand Chinese nstruments are not there (zither, around etc.) Thank you

I just got this tonight and it won’t let me change the key signature, when I try to drag a new one over from the palette I get a 🚫over the key signature and it does nothing, what am I doing wrong?
It's called a longa, and you can add it to the toolbar using the "customize toolbar" option. You can also create it using the W shortcut mentioned in this video. The time signature need to be at least 16/4 or the equivalent for it to work though, otherwise you will get tied notes across multiple bars.

For example, 4 beamed eighth notes with the first of those eighth notes having a hollow note head to tell the performer to hold that first of the eighth notes throughout the duration of the following eighth notes (as though it were a half note, but using an eighth note beam and a hollowed half note head). An example is in Chopin's Piano Sonata no.3, the Largo movement, specifically the second theme in E major. He used a grouping of 6 eighth notes beamed together, but with the first note of that eighth note beamed grouping having a half note note-head. Anyone? Thanks a ton.
It's not exactly clear what you want, but I guess you would put the longer note in the second voice. In the Chopin excerpt the stems of the lower notes point downwards, that means they're in the second voice
I'm having troubles adding fermata. When I click on the fermata symbol, I get something that does not look like a fermata. Why is this happening? Please help!

Thank you for the question. It sounds like using separate Voices for each note in your chord (or group of notes). You can find the voices near the top, you will see a 1,2,3,4. Each number is the voice part you are working on. It can take some time to get used to, and you might need to hide rests, but it might work for you. You may also need to change beam directions depending on what you want the music to look like. Let me know if this works for you. Thank you again!
Let's say you're working on a piece that has voice and piano, and you have an intro on the piano but nothing on the voice. How do you make multiple staves invisible instead of having to go one by one?
1st staff I have the rhythm guitar second staff I have the lead guitar how do I switch those around so the lead guitar is the top staff. I'm using the newest version 3.6.2
Hi! Thank you for helpful tutorials! If you wan't a musician to change from let's say flute to piccolo, how can that be done? I wan't to be able to right "muta in piccolo" in my score and when I do so the sound of a piccolo will appear (or something similar). Of course one can always add an other staff for the piccolo, but since one musician will play both the instruments, it would be more convinient if I could use only one staff. I would really appreciate an answer!
You can use 'Change Instruments' in the palettes. Just click the note/bar that you want to change the instrument, then double click change instruments in the palettes, a window will pop out and ask the instrument that you want to change. This will also change the flute sound into piccolo as well. Hope this helps
You can use the shortcut 'V' to toggle between visible and invisible elements.

Help. The one common note command that is not anywhere is not stated. How do you add the 3 over 3 fast notes? Slightly changes the timing.

You have to persevere and keep hovering around the bar till a + sign appears . . hope this helps.

How do I make the notehead size of voice 2 smaller than voice 1?
I didn't get #5 at all and I didn't see any difference in the note heads or stems. And why would someone want to hide something in the score (#6)?

I think you can go to instruments (press I on your keyboard) then select one of the instruments and then move up or down to get the order you like.
For no 7. You could just also use the avanced palette. That's what i did anyway
