The music as you progress further beneath Hyrule Castle gets SO INTENSE. Even being overpowered the music made me feel STRESSED
The music and atmosphere leading up to the final Ganon boss is insane.

Colgera is probably the best boss theme but Queen Gibdo is so so good, that 5/4 7/4 switchup is just so so good
Not my favorite, it is one of my favorite since I like some themes equally with the last one, the main one and the title one.
The rito final boss song is just PERFECT

The callbacks to "Assault on Vah Ruta" in the Water Temple theme are amazing...
Their use of themes overall is just masterful. You can tell in _seconds_ exactly where you are and who you're fighting just by the motifs and instruments used.
Water temple final terminal is one of the extremely rare times I notice the music and stop just to listen to it. It's so damn good. The only other time this has happened in these games is the snowy mountains music in breath of the wild
Its worth noting that the dungeon themes in this use the motifs from the respective Divine Beasts in Breath of the Wild.
I noticed that Wind Temple uses the Rito Village intro but I didn't recognize the other village themes in the other dungeons.

The calgera was very window shopping imo

i love that so much actually-i heard the motifs from the divine beasts and felt that the music perfectly encapsulates being a sequel.
The last phase of the thunder temple is a slowed down version of Attack on Vah Naboris from BotW and not the Gerudo Village theme. It's pretty noticeable when you listen them back-to-back
Idk what you mean by "Rito Village Intro" I couldn't place that from the Wind Temple music. But even in BotW Rito village was pretty much the only place apart from Hyrule Castle that used a very iconic theme from previous Zelda installments (and to an extent Zora's Domain, but that music wasn't that iconic to begin with, even if recognizable). TotK just goes balls to the wall "YEAH YOU FUCKING LOVE WIND WAKER DON'T YA" during the Rito part of the game. Colgeras theme has both the best area track and the best boss track from wind waker, on top of it's own phenomenal arrangements and call-backs to BotW. Kinda makes you wonder who at Nintendo really has the hots for bird people since Rito is almost unfairly overrepresented in the pure nostalgia department.
There's a _lot_ of "Assault on Vah Ruta" (the riding on Sidon's back bit) in the Water Temple theme. Enough that you could probably play them concurrently and it would sync up.
2:35 I understand that BotW's soundtrack was less... designed. It was supposed to be very mysterious and vague, for thematic reasons.
But I have to agree. I think TotK's soundtrack is better.
I love love LOVE that they incorporated the motifs from BotW’s divine beast dungeons into the temple’s themes in ToTK as if in homage. Immediately recognized Vah Ruta’s theme within the Water temple theme and it got me choked up because of Mipha and Sidon.
This is literally is the greatest soundtrack ever for a Legend of Zelda game incredible!

This is 100% Top 5 Video Game OSTs for me. This game just shocked me with how much more and better the music is compared to BOTW.

@@SprayInk-Kreatïv-Nouveau Zelda bosses were never hard to begin with, this game is perfect for us casual gamers and that what I really love about it if I want a more challenging game I'll go with Elden Ring

You have have have to listen to the Wind boss theme! The rito village motif is added in such an amazing way there.
7:22 Idk how familiar you are with LoZ music in general, but there's a rising run of notes in this part here that sounds eerily familiar to me. Listen to the song Farewell Hyrule King from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and Hyrule Castle Theme from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and you might get what I mean. The notes might not be exact, but it's close enough to remind me of Farewell Hyrule King (which makes sense to me because 'Wind Waker'... wind temple...) I mention ALttP because it demonstrates Nintendo's habit of retaining music and reusing/remastering it to suit different circumstances. If the notes do match up between this and the song from Wind Waker, it's not an accident.
And somehow some people still thinking this game doesn't worth 70, it's worth way more than that just for the music it self ,and not yet include the game and graphic
Some People are dumb. Many pay 60$ for Fifa, which are just remakes of each other and then whine about Zelda for graphics.
@@DundG it's just sad , fifa and NBA 2k both just not worth , they not just dumb , those player just don't understand the art of game , they just like fast food game with "graphic", I think they even think Redfall or Forspoken is good game with "Graphic" .
@@LaiYou We don't need to argue with those who can't understand. Just as we don't need to participate in the stupid console wars. I'm quite happy that Nintendo does its own thing and doesn't cater to those "graphic-whores" as we called them in german. Nintendo sticks to their definition of gaming which has more ups than downs in by book.

awesome vid, whats your setup man? plugins etc? also love in the wind temple they use both revali's theme in a very minor way and also the teba/vah naboris attack sequence. the music in this game had tears rolling down the face of joy and nostalgia too hahaha. think you'll love Colgera theme too. its heavily referencing the molgera boss and dragon roost island the from wind waker

if there's one piece of music that needs some attention its the wind temple's boss battle

From a music theory standpoint it's 100% more sophisticated than BOTW. Honestly they took some big, big swings to go to the next level thematically.

I love this music but I do miss the great hooks from the old soundtracks. I wish they’d bring some of that back.

Great breakdown, the unfortunate issue with the playlist you're listening to however, is the fact that you're only getting the final phase of dungeon/boss music, and not the full progression as you advance through the dungeons over five phases. The wind and fire temples especially build amazingly throughout.

Want your mind blown? Listen to the Yiga/Kouga theme on this video, take in the melody, the instruments used, etc., then go listen to the Kakariko Village theme.

Also, I’ve only been playing Ocarina of Time on N64 (Gerudo valley is my favourite VGM soundtrack of all time), but I remember «backwards vocals» being used there. Was it in the temple of time or so? Is it a recurring theme in Zelda games, or is the usage of that in the game music here a nudge towards OOT?

Music’s a little… out there sounding. Very different from Breath.
Breath was light and airy. This one is darker, more exotic, and somewhat goofy, avant-garde, or whimsical.

Please listen to the rito boss music, it’s genuinely my favourite video game song ever!
I’m one of the few who doesn’t feel that it’s an upgrade from BOTW music. It mostly feels like an orchestrated rehash of the BOTW music in most places. There was so much originality, space, and passion in the BOTW music. Even though it’s more in-your-face and orchestrated, it doesn’t feel better. But that’s what people were asking for, so I guess they got it. 🤷🏻♂️
It feels weird to see you say "Already a lot more orchestra than in Botw" literally during a track significantly less orchestral than its botw version (Hyrule Castle).
